Not only have cases continued to fall in Texas since then, the seven-day average is now the lowest it’s been since June 18, 2020 according to Worldometer. The combination of vaccines and herd immunity are working to make covid in Texas just a bad memory. Hopefully the invasion of illiterate diseased human scum from the south will not cause this trend to falter. Of course the southern invasion is an event instigated by the Xiden/Kamaltoe administration intended to offset the successes in Texas, Florida, etc. I cannot wait for Nov 8, 2022. If the Rs don't sweep the House and the Senate it means that they don't want to. Write letters to your congresscritter early and often. Remind them that they vote your way or they get primaried.

This puts Joe, Fauci and his democrat fear mongers in quite the quandary. It makes their illegal alien invasion at the border not quite as dangerous (unless you count the murders) but it blows their fear campaign about the dangers of COVID spread all to hell. No more masks, no more lockdowns! Shove your vaccine up your backside!

There are too many confounding factors to draw any conclusions about the effect of one thing, like masks, on the infection rate. For one thing, masks are still being used quite a lot in Texas despite the repeal of the mask mandate. Also, as noted, more and more people are being vaccinated and almost all of the most vulnerable people are vaccinated in Texas now.

When I used to see a person wearing a mask in public, I thought, "that person is sick". That is exactly what masks are for - sick people should be wearing them. Or better yet sick people should stay isolated. When healthy people wear masks, they get sick from rebreathing what their body was expelling. As for protecting other people because you might be asymptomatic, in a study in China of SARS CoV2 there were zero positive cases from 1174 close contacts with asymptomatic cases.

FTA: Since it’s warmer there now than in the north, people are spending more time outdoors, reducing transmission. I live in Michigan. Some of the counties that have the lowest case/hosp/fatality rates are in the coldest parts. (the distance from Detroit to Copper Harbor is greater than the distance from Detroit to D.C. It gets cold up there.) It's something else. Maybe the doggone masks CAUSE covid.

Look, it doesn't matter if Texas lifted it's mask mandate, they stillndors won't let you into stores, restaurants, or bars without a mask. Florida has never had a State mask mandate, but the local mayors and vendors have enforced their own mandates. Having to wear a mask drives me nuts, but I have no tolerance for anyone who gets up in my face, so to save myself the expense of bail money, I grudgingly comply.

Just returned home from church in Oklahoma. I was one of handful not wearing a mask. I refuse to proclaim "He IS Risen" with a mask on. I am NOT sick. I am 6 weeks post second vaccine. Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA), who was a prominent Atlanta preacher before he was elected to the Senate, deleted a tweet on Easter Sunday that drew allegations of heresy. “The meaning of Easter is more transcendent than the resurrection of Jesus Christ,” Warnock wrote in the tweet posted Sunday morning. “Whether you are Christian or not, through a commitment to helping others we are able to save ourselves.” The comment from Warnock, who was a pastor at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, where Martin Luther King Jr. preached, landed the senator in hot water. Warnock received a defense from MSNBC host Joy Reid

Over the weekend, Michael Smerconish demonstrated that his Saturday morning show is one of the few islands of credible journalism at CNN as he debunked some of the lies spouted liberals -- including journalists on his own network -- who have attacked Georgia's new voting law as "voter suppression," The Smerconish show began with the host putting into context the state's new rules designed to prevent political groups from using food and water distribution as a loophole to approach voters in line and underhandedly push their candidates. He went on to admit that he has changed his mind on the law after learning more about it.

“The Great Liberal Death Wish” is Malcolm Muggeridge’s famous theme, which appeared in various iterations over the years. Here’s one version, from which we can extract the essence: I began to get the feeling that a liberal view of life was not what I’d supposed it to be—a creative movement which would shape the future—but rather a sort of death wish. . . It’s difficult to convey to you what a shock this [recognition of the bankruptcy of liberalism] was, realizing that what I had supposed to be the new brotherly way of life my father and his cronies had imagined long before, was simply on examination an appalling tyranny

Joe Biden is going to get “unity.” He will get it even if he has to just make stuff up. Case in point: bills proposed by a Democratic president, rammed through Congress by Democratic lawmakers, and voted on exclusively by Democrats are actually “bipartisan” according to the White House. Biden campaigned and took office as the “unity” president. A noble aspiration, to be sure. The only problem is that no Republicans have actually voted for any of his grandiose schemes. The trillions of dollars of debt he is adding to the balance sheet is Democratic Party debt. But the White House believes that Biden’s giveaways are popular and that many Republicans love
