Joe Biden has never been known for subtlety. Fox News reports: President Biden has picked the wife of an extremely influential U.S. senator for a federal commission post, the White House announced Friday. Biden nominated Gayle Conelly Manchin to co-chair the Appalachian Regional Commission (snip) Mrs. Manchin would have major role in an agency with a $165 million budget whose “mission is to innovate, partner, and invest to build community capacity and strengthen economic growth in Appalachia.” The word “invest” is the key one here. Allow me to explain the epipen story. It used to be that the epipen had to prescribed to a specific patient, who could keep it in school so a school nurse could inject it should the child have a severe reaction to something, including an insect bite. Manchin's daughter, head of a pharmaceutical company, )and holder of a fake executive MBA fm WVU - a whole different story - lobbied through a change in the law so that a school could purchase a bunch of epipens, not specific to any patient, and administer the contents to anyone appearing to be having a breathing problem. That drove the price of epipens from 7 dollars each, to 700 dollars each And to add icing to the cake, the pens expire fairly quickly, meaning the epinephrine content weakens, so the school or other organization has to trash the inventory and reorder regularly. The money made by Mylan Labs on the change? At least 10 billion dollars annually. They hold the patent for the self injecting pen, itself, not the contents. Under the change in the law, will people die for the wrong administration of the epipen? Yes, but the deaths will be attributed to the bug bite or asthma attack, not the epinephrine. Sweet deal, hey?

So here is how this goes. This position for Manchin's wife pays about $160,000. Manchin's seat in the Senate is of comparable pay. If Manchin goes along with the Dems and destroys the filibuster, West Virginians might boot him out in the next election. Or not. If Democrat cheating comes to West Virginia, Manchin keeps his seat, and his family now has twice the money. If cheating doesn't occur, and he loses, his wife's salary makes up for the loss. Wow!! What's not to like?!!! /s

That’s an “in your face” act by the Biden regime. Un-effing-believable! In a way, this puts Joe Manchin in a spot. If he votes for ANYTHING pro-Biden, he’ll be viewed as non-independent and openly corrupt. He and his wife should decline the offer.

Manchin loves being "Mr. Big"! The Reporters chase him for his views, the TV Stations Book him and he will be on all the Sunday Shows. Mr. Big indeed! As we all know, Biden didn't need to Bribe Manchin to get his vote. Manchin appears to waver over every Big vote, but in the end, he ALWAYS votes with his Party! This Bill would be no exception! Wish the WV Voters would vote him out, but it appears he's been Mr. Big in that State for so long that they probably bow when he passes them on the Street!

Fabulous! Simply fabulous! With a brilliant expert like Mrs. Mancini in charge - - Appalachia is guaranteed to have an economic boom. Grab every penny that you can - - and invest all of your money in the coming Appalachia Miracle. Historical accounts hundreds of years from now - - will still be telling this amazing story.

#7, everything the demonrats have done since 11/3/20 has been in-your-face, starting with the stolen election. They come up with a new outrage to rub in our faces every day and they then sit back smugly while there is no pushback. Hence the razor wire and troops in DC - just in case there is some pushback.

Excellent commentary, #1. In spite of Trump's unfinished efforts, the pharmaceutical, medical device and medical industries still have a stranglehold on the general public. West Virginia seems to hang on to its politicians forever. It took them a lifetime and only the sickness and death of Robert Byrd removed him from office. I think it's not the people, the politicians get a death grip there just like Murtha and The Spectre got in Pennsylvania and they are as stubborn as attached tics in elections. I believe Manchin was already a guaranteed vote against the filibuster but Biden knows how to put icing on the cake. West Virginians take note in the next election, if there is one.

Manchin gets it, the public that awaits his "choice" thinks he is honestly considering the merits, voting his conscience. He's simply leveraging his "independence"...that's what politicians do. Right now the Republicans have nothing to offer.

Were Mitch McConnell the superb strategist and wily tactician that the establishment Republicans claim he is, he would have already bribed the ethically challenged Manchin to switch parties. He should have also gotten Senator Sinema to switch as well. Give them the committee chairs of their choice. Chuck Schumer ran circles around clueless Mitch when the Republicans were the majority. Now that they are in the minority Schumer is crushing McConnell and may make Republicans a permanent minority.

Gotcha questions, lectures, fights, interruptions, blatant disrespect – not from Trump, but from the media. It was they who created a sense of chaos and divisiveness, not Trump. It was very different this time. The media were on their best behavior but even they couldn’t protect Biden from himself. Other posts here address more substantive issues raised in the press conference. This is just about style points for both Biden and the media.
