This is the moment a Trump supporter pulled a gun on Antifa protesters after his truck was vandalized during a caravan past the capitol building in Salem.Video captured demonstrators spraying paint across the windscreen of the truck, and smashing the tail lights, before the driver steps out with a gun and points it directly at anti-fascist protesters. The driver, who was wearing an American flag sweater, was almost immediately apprehended by police who ordered him to drop to the ground and let go of his weapon. The tense moment was one of many clashes between left-wing, anti-fascist demonstrators
Antifa won that one. This only emboldens them. When a man is unable to defend his own property this country has descended to anarchy

I am sick of hearing antifa called antifacist. They are the facists! This is a great example of how to use propaganda to change the narrative. Goebbels would be proud.

State laws differ regarding using a gun to protect your property. I live in the occupied territory of Illinois and I know I can not justify using a gun to protect property. I'd hate to have to argue that I was at the point of my life being threatened under those circumstances, but I sure as hell can see feeing that way if it were me in real time. At worst they have made it virtually impossible for us to defend ourselves and at best we must thread the needle in doing so.

There are plenty of gangbangers in Chicago using guns to protect their property--territory such as street corners, drug cutting sites, people, etc. The cops watched while the terrorists committed crimes and then arrested the person who attempted to protect his property and himself. Upside freakin down! Everybody in these places where antifa is allowed to roam free, should dress up like antifa and make it appear antifa is fighting amongst themselves. I wonder what the "cops" would do then?

The police acted properly taking him into custody but he should not have been charged or prosecuted. He was trying to protect his property but only pulled his gun when he was attacked and when he was being closed in on by the thugs. The police were probably unaware of this at the time of their arrival and took unarmed him as they were protecting themselves and would go after a person with the gun first. With the video evidence now, charges should be dropped.

Cops in democrat run states and cities are not your friends. I give the benefit of doubt to police elsewhere, although I have misgivings about which side they’d be on when orders come down from leftist politicians to use Gestapo tactics against citizens. As with FBI agents, many of these guys are engaged in a countdown to pension eligibility.

Where were the cops when ANTIFA was destroying this man's car?
All of a sudden they appear from nowhere?
This man was protecting his property and probably his life.
There should be no charges. It's time to break up ANTIFA .
If there is an insurrection ANTIFA is leading it.

My advice is for those living in the Cities taken over by Antifa, GET OUT! I left IL in1995 (at age 50). I have no regrets. My kids and grands are all there, they refuse to leave. I'm sad for them, but it's their choice. They are handing over their hard earned money to the State and don't even realize they could keep most of it if they lived in a Republican state. Sad but true!

BTW, my iPhone offers no autocomplete options for the word, Gestapo. When deliberately misspelled, no autocorrect version is provided. My theory, the word police are sensitive about Gestapo because the word is commonly used ro describe the modern FBI, and strong arm tactics used by other law enforcement.

Thats why I dont fly "back the blue" flags or support them getting military equipment. While much of the time they behave with honor, sometimes this happens. Why weren't they arresting rioters? Easy. Because rioters wont comply. Regular Americans will. Low hanging fruit. I'm sure they patted each other on the back after it was over and the rioters could continue with impunity.

And while we are at it, the bullet should go right through those obnoxious cell phones. You dont vandalize peoples' property then film the reaction to prove you are abused. Its very cowardly.

Bitter irony; an innocent man lies face-down on the wet street being prodded by a cop's boot, with his "back the blue" bumper sticker visible in the same shot. USA, USA! What a country we had.

It's totally insane - these Antifa thugs are ruining their communities and stifling free speech. They can carry on and riot but if someone shows up with a different viewpoint it's bring out the weapons.

I counted the number of times the word "anti-fascist" was used in the article - 15 times, and the times the word "antifa" was used - 6. So, 21 times in this short piece we are repetitively fed those two words to plant in our brains the lie that the driver of the truck (with the Vietnam veteran sticker) who had his windscreen sprayed with paint (which could have caused him harm and perhaps others too) and surrounded by these cowardly thugs (some of whom carry lasers that could blind a driver) is somehow guilty of some fascist behavior for just protecting himself and his property. He initiated nothing. He got out of his truck and told these punks to get away from him. Still, the authors of this piece chose words to focus negatively on the innocent rather than truthfully on the guilty.
It is the Daily Mail - Britain's Propagandist and the Associated Press - our Propagandist. I usually avoid reading the Daily Mail because they always have a negative slant for any news coming out of our country.

How do we know the guy was just defending property. If a mob is attacking your truck, and you are in it, I would fear for my life. The guy had no idea what these people were going to do to him. He did know they were beating on his truck, and he was likely next. They were inside his margin of safety, and should suffer the consequences.

Let me start by saying that I would drive a long way not to have to deal with the fascist leftists (who call themselves "Antifa" to hide their identity; they're actually as fascist acting as late '30s Nazis oppressing Jews) burning down Democrat run cities. Sensible behavior involves avoiding danger whenever possible. If something bad's going to happen in a certain place, don't be there, or at least try not to be there. But what if you find yourself there?
Using deadly force or threat of deadly force to defend property is legally iffy at at best. A million variables make blanket statements problematic, so I'll refrain from that. If a law abiding person is sitting inside a car, and some lowlife vandalizes the car at that moment, there ought to be law enforcement on call if not on site to arrest the vandal. (Yeah, right.)
What if your car is stationary, can't move because of too many people, and an Antifa lowlife comes to the driver's window and knocks it out (showering the driver with many pieces of tempered glass)? Is the person inside the car in imminent danger of death or great bodily harm? In such a situation, I don't know how not. The fellow who just knocked your window out with a hard object is separated from you by no barrier anymore. His next blow will be to your head. Are you legally justified in shooting him? If not, we no longer live in a civilized country.

I used to enjoy going to San Francisco, New York City, Chicago, Miami, Las Vegas, Denver, Portland, Seattle, Boston for the museums, art, plays, concerts, restaurants. I now go out of my way to avoid cities entirely. If I am traveling in a vehicle I go around, not through. After two attempted muggings in San Francisco near Moscone (the muggers - both larger and younger - had bad days) I eliminated my office there and quit doing any business within that city. After the second one I thought "if I had followed through as I have been trained and damaged him rather the simply incapacitating him I'd go to jail, not him". Forget that.
Where were the cops when they were trashing his truck? It look like the anti-facist protestors were trying to make it undrivable so that they could get to him and hurt him. I believe he had reason to fear for his life. If I was on a jury, he would be not guilty and if on the jury for a civil suit the city would pay the max.
