During an interview aired on Thursday’s “MSNBC Live,” White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki reacted to concerns that corporations will raise prices if taxes on corporations are increased by stating that President Joe Biden believes people “know that corporations do not need to raise the cost of goods in order to pay more taxes and pay more of their fair share.”Host Hallie Jackson asked, “Of course, he could only do so much if corporations end up raising prices on things if they end up having a tax hike as well, right?”Psaki responded, “He also believes that the American people are smart.

This demonstrates economic ignorance on a galactic scale! Corporations pass on taxes in their pricing as a cost of doing business like any other cost - utilities, health care plans, shrinkage, CPA services to manage all the damned taxes ( ! ), etc. They have to, otherwise escalating costs would eat away at all their profits. These people are completely clueless. We, the people, pay these taxes in reality.

This is part of the democrat scam for decades. Raise taxes, then blame the "greedy" corporations who likely have to raise prices. Wonder what would happen to that publicly traded corporation who issued a statement saying they'll simply just absorb that tax increase, thus, reducing their profits? Think their stock price would increase? Of course, it's also how corporations end up pushing prices up too, so they're in on the scheme too. Especially when you're in a environment where there's pressure not to raise prices. And, if prices go up, the unions demand higher wages in their next contract, or a higher cost-of-living increase(likely both).

The libs really don't understand business. Every dime a company has in cash comes from its customers. There is no printing press in the cellar. Every dime paid in taxes comes from the cash that comes from the customer. Simple. 100% of the taxes are paid by the customer. Every company that makes widget Z gets the same tax increase and passes it on to the customer. The competition comes from places with lower taxes, not other companies with the same tax.

One of my responsibilities as office manager of a construction firm was to keep a running total of the cost of goods, the salaries and benefits, the utilities and rent, the cost of running the vehicles and the taxes we were paying. That was how we based our hourly rate to customers. This woman is beyond dumb and so is Biden if they don't know how companies work. Corporations are already raising prices as fast as they can, and more than any 2%, more like 8% plus. This is due to supply chain disruptions caused by all the international disruptions from Covid, and government interventions from ignorance and arrogance. The Democrats are borrowing in trillions, the Federal Reserve choking on purchasing the Treasury promissory notes, all worthless, as the government never pays anything back, except with another promissory note. I prefer the inflation to raising taxes, because the little people that voted for this can pitch in by paying the inflation tax on what they purchase. The middle class did not make this mess, won't get any of the gravy, and should not have to bear all the burden of this waste and ruin. 75% of government employees do nothing for this country, and could be let go. DC is nothing but a family, relatives, and friends employment circle, passed from one generation to the next, outsiders excluded, and benefitting nobody but themselves.

Couple of things. Walking dowm memory lane, remember how many businesses gave pay raises and bonuses (or as Nancy Pelosi called them "crumbs") to their workers when corporate taxes were cut? Second, I just got a memo from my employer yesterday. Seems there has been substantial increases in many commodity prices from suppliers. Items such as water heaters, vinyl gloves, and faucets have increased 10-100% in the past year. We can negotiate and absorb some of these increases, but most will be passed on to our customers. And their customers. I guess we're back to the inflationary times of the 70s and 80s. We've already got about a dollar per gallon increase in gas prices since Sleepy Creepy Clumsy Crooked President Uncle Joe stole the election.

A moderate California Democrat and member of the shrinking “Blue Dog Coalition” has broken with his party and is expressing concerns over a review by the House Administration Committee of a very close Iowa election won by a GOP candidate and certified by state officials. Rep. Lou Correa, a member of the House Judiciary Committee, has said he wants to “look at the facts” regarding Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks’ six-vote win in Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District, though a majority of his party is supportive of the panel’s investigation. Correa’s concerns center on “what motivates Congress to look at something that should be a state issue,” CNN reported on Thursday.
