In December, the Cleveland Indians announced they are in the process of changing to a “non-Native American based name” from the one the MLB team has held since 1915. Earlier this month, the Cherokee Nation for the first time asked Jeep to stop using the tribe’s name on its vehicles, a practice that goes back to 1974.
But what about the motorcycle company that predates both of those cases?

Uh oh. If this continues, we could have Big Apple people suing Apple.com claiming size doesn't matter and the Big Apple was there first. And don't forget---the image of an apple, especially one with a bite taken out of it, appears to be a reference to the forbidden fruit of popular Christian (gasp) tradition. I expect the world's atheists to strenuously object and demand reparations for having been forced to look at all those open laptop Apple logos for all these years.

they may force the manufacturer to change its name but they cant change the FACT that people have been calling the (real) Indian motocycles by the name Indian for 118 years and will continue to call these motorcycles Indians for the next 118 years
The Left cant win this one

Its a crying shame stupidity and dishonest don't hurt. There needs to be a penalty for stupid stuff like this. Nobody is insulting anyone. The people claiming this is an insult aren't being honest. Nobody has done anything wrong. Leave it alone! Nobody has to do anything to prove they're not racist.

My brother had his very nice Indian bike parked next to his casket for the viewing and service. Don’t feel bad he was an SOB. The bike was the nicest thing there.

There’s a whole big country out here called India why not keep the name and change the logo to someone wearing a turban or the Taj Mahal? They can have that idea for free.

Then of course we have yet to go after Piper, the small airplane company. There you will find the Cherokee, also the Apache, oh and the Navajo and of course the Scout and the Cub. Shall I go on ?

Calling Native American's "Indians" is a cultural appropriation of... INDIANS. (you know, people from INDIA).
If the Indian subcontinent crowd doesn't mind a motorcycle being named after them then the descendants of North American Aboriginals, (with no written language or name for the people of the continents), really lacks standing. We give it back right after they do.

About half the states have names based (sometimes loosely) on an Indian word. Massachusetts is the biggest offender since it has the most letters. Who knows how many towns, counties, creeks, hills, valleys, lakes, etc... are Indian words - undoubtedly thousands. But the SJW's seem to be selective - knocking out Squaw Valley while ignoring Okefenokee.

I have to admit that I had to look up the official name of the famous Vietnam workhorse the UH-1 "Huey". I doubt many ever called it the Iroquois. The Army has a long tradition of naming helicopters in homage to the tribes of the fierce Native American warriors who have served the military (including 32 Medal of Honor winners).

There is a local company with international trade making pecan equipment. The same equipment is used to harvest olives and some crop in Australia. I keep half expecting whoever runs the wokeness to ask them to change the name of their business, Savage Equipment. Problem is...Savage is their last name. We live in the Chickasaw Nation and they have more sense, IMO, to have any part of this.

You can't fix stupid--and the Woke Idiots are just that. Indian Motorcycle Company is a perfectly good name since 1897 the year my grandfather was born. History will someday look back on this time and compare it the the Salem Witchcraft Trials. Time for sane Americans to cancel the Cancel Culture once and for all.

The Cancel Culture might have to cancel the entire state of Oklahoma (since it has towns named Nowata, Tishomingo, Vinita, Chickasha, Broken Arrow, Spiro, Okmulgee, Okemah...)
/sarcasm off
