Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, along with other Senate Dems, are urging the president to cancel $50,000 in student loan debt by using executive authority. Senators Schumer and Elizabeth Warren revealed a legal review on the use of executive authority is underway by the U.S. Department of Justice.
Executive action has already been used by Biden to continue the suspension of student loan payments until the end of September 2021.
Warren spoke to reporters on Monday and slammed student loan debt for "crushing millions of Americans."

This is so wrong. Families that paid for their kids to go to college. Kids that worked to put themselves thru college. These are people that didn't expect the government to pay for their education, they did it themselves. Yet the people that took the easy way out by borrowing will get their debt forgiven? Just another way to use the money working people pay in taxes, to buy votes. Any person that has a job should never vote for a democrat ever again. Of course with voter fraud it probably doesn't matter if they vote or not.

Hey, Pocahontas, my mortgage is crushing me. It's a debt I willingly took on and am legally obligated to re-pay but it's keeping me from greater things.
Please cancel $50,000 of my mortgage.
Thank you.

Socialism: Everything FREE, traditional standards of behavior nullified, eat the rich.
THEN they will come for YOU if you rise above their mandatory MISERY index or if you cannot
prove your 5 COVID vaccinations. The cancelled debt funds will go to BLUE cities which have flushed their moneys down the toilet of social welfare by totally incompetent management - so they will be rewarded.

soooo Biden can cancel a trillion dollars of debt but Trump couldn't spend a few hundred billion to build the wall????
I thought only the house could spend money like that.

#6, Why is not ONE Republican asking this question? We are not being represented in our government. It is now a matter of taxation without representation and that didn’t go over very well in times past.
As Biden proceeds down this disastrous pathway, the Republicans are being revealed for what they are. Sure, we do not have the majority, but the last time I looked they could still use their voices. How about it, you fools? Can you please manage to at the very least make some noise? Or are you all just about getting a paycheck, great health care, perks, that awe inspiring pension and keeping your heads down? It’s as if you want the country to go down in flames. If you can’t see down the road very far, let me assure you when the democrats are finished, you will be destroyed too. They are using you. You are being played. Ultimately, you will be held accountable. You begged for the trust of the American people and you have betrayed that trust. Your apathy will be your downfall. You will forever be remembered by the Patriots in this country as cowards who gave up the fight.

Warren and Democrats in Congress want Biden to do what they are too cowardly to try to do themselves. While canceling student loan debt sounds great, it is not popular with responsible adults who pay their debts! Democrats know it would never pass in Congress and want to take the easy way out where they will have no accountability.

No such thing as "cancelling" in the world of finance. Either it's a court ordered bankruptcy or somehow the credit agencies were paid off. So what will it be Joe? Stroke of the pen, law of the land?

Any loan cancellation should have to be financed by the disgustingly greedy colleges and universities. Next to borrowers, they are the cause of all this.

Biden, and the Democrats, just love to spend other people's money. They will get the money by taxing productive members of this country. A lot of these productive taxpayers, who never went to college, are now to be stuck with the bill.
A big part of the problem is that most of the people in default are going for degrees that will never qualify them for jobs that will pay enough to repay the loans. A large part of this problem is that colleges help the students to get loans knowing full well that the degree that the college will award is nearly worthless for getting a decent paying job. If the colleges were required to repay the defaulted loan, it would do much to end this practice.
And, I have no sympathy for the student that parties for four years to get a B.A. in Art Appreciation without any intention of repaying the loan.

I am not defending cancelling the debt. That money will be taxable as income. I also see it another way. This debt is mainly the fault of the high schools pushing everybody to go to college instead of promoting the trades when they know full well, many are not college material. The "not college material" enroll in universities around the country because "the government" is backing the student loans and the loans are easy to take. The universities are salivating about having more money to spend and convince the "not college material" to major in basket weaving, gender studies, transgenderism and the like to support the laving administration buildings and their own bureaucracy. The "not college material" flunks college and quits. The university got the money, they don't have to spend it educating the flunkies and the "not college material" get stuck with the student loan. It is all a fraud.

But do it before April 15th, because I no longer intend to pay any federal income tax.
As if stealing an election, a $3-trillion payoff to your pals, and tearing down the borders wasn't enough.
Now I have to pay taxes to pay for college loan debt relief for Millennials?
You can forget about any more of my income tax

For those still unclear, the new democrat definition of debt cancellation is the process of forcing US taxpayers to pay for the wasted education of the deadbeat kid next door who is probably a member of Antifa because he spent the entire past year with no job. With fair elections, democrats will never put a POTUS into office again. With the current election process, no other party will ever put a POTUS into office again. November, 2020 was a HUGE turning point for America and the GOP made it all possible.

I paid for 6 years of college for one kid, and several years for the others. No loans, straight out of Roth's I started when they were young. 60k. We do not do debt like that in my family. My kids all worked while they went to college and paid for their books and other expenses. This is an insult to people like us.

This is not a laughing matter ... it is deadly serious.
This action ... like reparations ... will tear the country apart. The blue collar, trade school crowd and all those who have a skill instead of a "liberal arts" degree are about to be robbed. Instead of cracking jokes, we need to sue! Yes sue!
A class action law suit that points out the separate and unequal treatment by the government. It is outrageous that anyone who paid ... or couldn't afford to go in the first place ... gets to foot the bill of some pot-smoking, military avoiding jerk who took "woman's studies", "folklore" or "modern dance interpretation" and now works at Costco or driving Uber. Or more likely, unemployed, and living above dad's garage or in mom's basement!
Where the heck is the GOP!! Get restraining orders against Biden. Tie him in legal knots the way they did to Trump. Do SOMETHING.
