The television audience for Hollywood's virtual Golden Globes ceremony on Sunday fell sharply from last year's event, with preliminary estimates on Monday indicating that about 60 per cent fewer viewers tuned in to the widely panned award show.
Ratings data reported on Monday by The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline showed that only about 5.4 million Americans watched the three-hour telecast on the NBC network.[SNIP] In 2020, 18.3 million Americans, the smallest audience in eight years, watched the Golden Globes ceremony on television, according to final Nielsen data.

Let's see...
Unfunny, shrewish hosts? Check.
No political humor attacking the current president or his administration? Check.
Awards for things I would never in a million years watch or care about in the least? Check.
Yeah, that about made sure I was not going to be wasting a second of my time watching this Hollyweird love-fest!!!

Since nobody has ever heard of anything that was nominated for or won an award, and we are all sick of Hollywood / Liberal Elitists telling us how to live, how woke we should be, or about the latest LGBTQ / BLM/ Antifa grievance and how it is our fault, it is no wonder nobody chose to watch. If I am interested in who won what, I can skip the PC woke speeches and just look it up on the internet in the morning.

"Nomadland" is the likely SAG and Oscar winner but the foreign language winner, "Minari", is actually a better human story. Ignore the awards shows but don't miss these movies on the streaming services.

Who wants to watch a bunch of spoiled rich celebrities give themselves awards, applaud, congratulate, and party with each other for a bunch of PC, unwatched, boring dribble that nobody has ever heard of or watched. Sure the Golden Globe voters and critics like the stuff but they were the only ones.

FTA: Britain's Daily Telegraph described it as a 'shambolic hellscape of Zoom ineptitude' that it said boded ill for the Oscars in April.
Gotta love the wordsmith at the Telegraph!! I didn't watch it and I pity those who had to in order to report on it!!

I'm sure the Awards show and the network will find a way to blame Trump. For once they would be right. 75 million and their families are no longer a potential audience. And that's lot of lost marketing power to advertisers. Still, liberal cheerleader fest like this will never catch on. Just like Comey's FBI!

Like most liberal/progressive democrats, they'll find some way to rationalize, justify, and excuse, the horrendous ratings.
Yet, the resounding conclusion is no one cares about them any longer. Probably because they don't really care about the average person either.
Does anyone's obituary actually state they won a Golden Globe?

Because nobody GAS how highly these talent derived MORONS think of themselves. I can go to 3 of my local pawn shops and pick up a GG award (or a perfectly fine copy) for about 20 bucks. Too much.

Ricky Gervais, who masterfully smacks the celebs every year, is not the host any longer. Therefore, no reason to watch.

"Golden Globes"...... is that a reference to the overly-made-up, overinflated Udders on some of the female participants?
Just wondering.
Never seen that particular time-waster.
