Retail stores in most of California are only allowed to operate at 25 percent capacity. [SNIP] Last week, Assembly Members Evan Low (D–Cupertino) and Cristina Garcia (D–Los Angeles) introduced a bill that would require retailers to offer their toys and childcare products in a gender-neutral format.
Brick-and-mortar shops would have to display the majority of their products and clothing aimed at children in one undivided, unisex area on the sales floor. They'd also be barred from putting up signage that would indicate whether a product was intended for a boy or girl.

Next thing you know, they will be doing away with separate dressing rooms for men and women. No one will be allowed privacy anymore. Shame on us for going along with it.

Yup, $1,000 fines for these evil retailers trying to make things convenient for their customers. But there are effectively no penalties for shoplifting up to $950 worth of stuff, or taking a dump on a public sidewalk. California governance, coming soon nationwide, as fast as Biden/Harris/Pelosi can make it happen.

Those in the area contact and vote these assembly members out of office or the persons responsible for putting them there. Do not just roll your eyes and walk away. When private individuals own a business but government controls it, that is Facism. That term is thrown around by people who do not have a clue but this is an example of the real thing.

California has far too many state government employees in Sacramento sitting around conjuring up statutes, rules and regulations to further micromanage behaviors of individuals and entities. This will continue until California residents finally get fed up, if ever. Worse is that some California local governments will not do business with similar out of state retailers unless the potential out of state customer agrees (by written contract) to follow these rules in the respective customer's other state(s).

All it would take is a little discipline and stop shopping at these stores. If you own stock, sell it. Let the stores know how you don't agree. If you ignore it, they'll win.

The stores can just rename them to be the "Blue" and "Pink" sections so people can go to where they identify. You can't punish anybody for preference in color. Oh wait, yes you can.

Toys may be displayed on separate aisles, but those aisles never say boys toys or girls toys. Plus, toys for younger kids aren't always seen as girl or boy toys. Have fun trying to fine a store for how they display their toys.

Because when I want to buy a toy truck, I want to wade through Barbie dolls and tea sets...../S/
I've never seen a store segregated by sex. What I see are stores that segregate by product type. Bikes here. Toy cars there, games over here, stuffed animals yonder and dolls over there. Stores stick their shelves to make finding products easy for their consumers. Sex, race, orientation, faith etc etc doesn't factor in.

I am unable to recall any time in past history where out and out madness has been promulgated as public policy such as we have in the former United States of America today. Governments have exhibited plenty of oppressiveness and much brutality and not a little stupidity in the past but utter madness enforced on a broad scale I have not seen. All those who "don't care who you have sex with or what you want to call yourself just so long as you do your job" are now seeing the results of such libertarian idiocy played out right in front of us. When you put mentally deranged people into positions of power and authority the result is lunacy across the board with no end in sight.

So the ruffled pink dresses will be on racks amongst the tiny football jerseys and construction outfits?
Will shoppers be grilled if they dare ask for help finding a dress?

I guess the California Legislature has solved all of the other problems like homelessness, unemployment, Covid-19, Illegal immigration, urination/defecation on sidewalks, high property taxes, and perpetual wildfires destroying millions of acres of property per year so that they can focus on really serious stuff like how children's clothing is displayed in stores and on-line. I feel safer because of this already!

Many years ago when I sat around the apartment swimming pool the following would occur if boys and girls would have beach towels to play with: Boys would turn the towels into Superman capes and run around the pool chasing each other; girls would drape the towels over chairs and a table and play house under them. Thank God for testosterone! It has saved out day many-a-time.

What is next? Kid's underwear can not be divided with a girls section and a boys section.
Part of the goal is to destroy any natural modesty that girls (and boys) have.
