Obama call for reparations for black
Americans because the 'wealth of this
country was built on the backs of
slaves' - but says he couldn't get it done
as president due to the 'politics of white
resistance'

Former President Barack Obama claimed reparations for black Americans are 'justified' but explained in his podcast with Bruce Springsteen that it was a 'nonstarter' during his presidency because of 'white resistence'. [SNIP] 'There’s not much question that the wealth of this country, the power of this country was built in significant part, not exclusively, maybe not even the majority of it, but a large portion of it was built on the backs of slaves.'

It is my view that blacks owe white people reparations, as our ancestors gave our lives and went through hardship fighting the Civil War to free them. We've spent the past 50 years giving them preferences, scholarships, social services, and allowing generations of blacks to live off of our taxpayers dollars, while they hang out on street corners, use drugs and have babies. Must be nice.

So it is a race war that the Democrats want. They will make the Blacks our racist overlords and we dare not speak lest we offend. This is how we will be controlled. Most Blacks will feel uncomfortable with this but enough of them will be happy to enforce it.

Seems to me all the wealth was created after WWII, the great depression killed all the wealth created prior to the 1900s and America was in the doldrums under Democrat dynasties prior to Eisenhower. If I recall correctly, Black Slavery ended in 1865. Obozo can kiss my ruby red.....

Statements like this prove this small little man is nothing but a community organizer and activist. He is no statesman and is a pathetic former President. He is at heart a street thug with nothing but a smart mouth to back him up. Who but a racist would throw a bomb like this especially in today’s political environment. When he could have made a real difference in the country, he decided to be the divider in chief and set about pitting blacks against whites and blacks against any authority figure. He is a punk.

It's admittedly difficult to pin down what aspect of Obama's repellent personality is most repellent but #1 might be his facile, dumbed-down 'history' which usually isn't history at all but a string of uninformed cliches. 17 years into being subjected to this huckster, no member of the intrepid media has asked him questions that actually probe his factual knowledge - which is fine with Obama because he doesn't have any.

What a perceptive set of posts from all of you. #4, I have voiced the same view to incredulous friends and they seemed to believe that counting all of the benefits, payments and preferences to the tune of trilllions of dollars towards any reparations is a novel if not daft thought. We are living in the midst of a 100+ year con game and it is turning into a real monster. Now, white people are demons and everyone else is a victim of ours. Now, anyone who isn’t white is in on the scam that says we hate them and owe them money and status. Also, Obama is most definitely a punk but I don’t believe those who don’t see it will ever see it.

Isn't it amazing that the media presents that only blacks need to be paid off? The movie "Far and Away" shows us how the Irish immigrants were treated poorly and there was a lot of prejudice as well directed to others. The great Thomas Sowell said this: "The left takes its vision seriously-- more seriously that it takes the rights of other people. They want to be our shepherds. But that requires us to be sheep". This issue is way different from making payments to Japanese Americans that President Franklin Roosevelt put into camps during WWII.

Black History = reminding blacks (forever) that they were slaves and will always be treated as slaves. Blacks can NEVER be allowed to feel they're getting ahead, despite the fact that affirmative action laws and hiring practices favor blacks/hispanics over whites/asians by a 10 to 1 margin. Of course, the highschool dropout rate is still the fault of whites, somehow. The Democrats live in flopsweat fear that they will eventually be seen as the cause of all the black's misery in this country, from slavery to Jim Crow to 'the soft bigotry of low expectations'.

So this mulatto thinks that slavery "built America" ... despite the fact that only a few states practiced it out of 50. His mother's ancestors were slave owners, so will be pay himself a check? And his "father" was directly from Africa ... which rounded up their enemies and sold them to slave traders in the first place! In the spirit of charity, I'll agree to pay reparations to any living former slave ... or even their kids. But that's it.

Economics 101 - Slavery kept Free Workers Poor by devaluing the price of labor. If a building was built by slaves it was because they worked cheaper than free workers. The only way a free man could get a job was to work cheaper than a slave. Plantations used slaves to scale agriculture, something free farmers could not do until tractors were invented. This meant that Plantations could raise crops at a much lower price than free farmers, driving down the price of agricultural goods. It kept free farmers poor. Slavery made immense wealth for a few Plantation owners and kept the general free population poor. It did not create wealth.

By SCOTT MCKAY July 10, 2020 It’s important to understand that this is a revolutionary moment in American history, and it isn’t a bad idea to act in ways that would fall under the traditional description of “accordingly.” But it’s also important to understand that the revolution taking place in America is not yet a “kinetic” one. That may come soon, or it may not. The battle taking place presently is a war of information — or disinformation, as the case may be. And the revolution is a Marxist revolution. You should make no mistake about that. The groups fomenting it, the intellectuals promoting it, and the money financing it are all quite open about who they are. The object of this information revolution? To begin with, defeating Donald Trump and installing Joe Biden as the Hard Left’s puppet president.

This is one more reason I´m delighted that Obama is gone. That race-baiting hypocrite and his creepy, dimbulb vice-president who now occupies the Oval Office, unable even to utter a coherent sentence, they really do hate America. The Left is playing with a fire that threatens the liberty of over 300 million fellow citizens. I live in Colombia, and watching from afar while America becomes unstable is just plain sad. And America is becoming unstable, beyond a shadow of a doubt. The Left started the problem of intolerance and cross-party hatred about 40 years ago when they started making social shunning based on political beliefs fashionable. Sadly, the divisions show no signs of healing. Lefty violence is getting worse, the Left wants to de-fund the police (which shows their true colors), and so violence will become more normalized and less prosecuted by law enforcement. The Left thinks they´re cute and clever, all while ruining a once-great nation. Can conservatives keep the country on track? Without a unified and dedicated effort by Conservatives to disarm the violent Left, I wouldn´t bet on it (and thanks Liz Cheney for what you did in that impeachment sham).

So Barry, it would appear that you haven't learned US history. You see, that wealth to which you refer was destroyed in the process of freeing the slaves. Look up William Tecumseh Sherman you might find that interesting. Rather than extract reparations from the slave holding states, which we agree attained a great deal of wealth on the backs of slaves, we killed them burned their houses barns, stole their livestock and twisted their iron rails into "Sherman's neckties." That ill-gotten wealth is gone Barry. Then oddly enough rather than keeping the Northern boot on the devastated South's neck any more than we did, in the spirit of Lincoln's intent, we let them start over from close to nothing. You see Barry world history tells us that attempts to keep a defeated foe down too hard too long results in the next war. Would you have preferred that path, or do you think it's not too late? Now you come along with roots that don't even include the American experience of slavery nor the suffering of its eradication and you know better than Lincoln. It wasn't enough punishment for the Southerner to have lost everything, fathers brothers sons livelihoods homes. And the Irish immigrants who's women and children were working in Northern factories while their men died charging Marye's Heights didn't sacrifice enough for you? More homework, look up he 69th New York just for kicks. Then for a little balance take a gander at the 21st Ohio and 22nd Michigan and their stand on Snodgrass Hill or Arthur Macarthur and the 24th Wisconsin on Missionary Ridge. Then tell me we didn't bleed enough or do enough for you Barry. This is personal for me Barry, my GGGGrandfather was just among the nameless who died a horrific death in a place only few have heard of. So go ahead Barry pick at those scabs, see how that works out for you.

Obama, please provide list of things the slaves built, names of slaves, and where located. I suspect the output was cotton and tobacco products, all of which was exported to Great Britain and Europe, where the owners of the plantations lived, and those products were consumed by the people of that era. Therefore, please forward your invoice there. Please also read the productivity reports concerning slave labor. It is actually very nonproductive, and cheaper overall to pay for the work. I would also ask that you reimburse American taxpayers, who did not own slaves and had nothing to do with it, for the welfare payments you have been receiving for the last 70 years. Also, please deduct the differential benefit of living in America, as opposed to Africa for the applicable time period. This is the way damages are computed and would be presented to a court. Obama, I know you are a constitutional lawyer, and adhere to the constitution in every way. I have observed that. So I know you will be fair, and will provide the above computations, and credits. Thank you.

Slavery was mainly in the South and mainly used on cotton or tobacco plantations by rich farmers. This is not the source of American wealth. Paying 3rd or 4th generation black people, most of whom have no proof that their ancestors were ever slaves, will not end their racial hatred. It’s just another way to tether blacks to their Democrat slave owners.

Oh for crying out loud. America has had been living with organized, systemic. legally mandated reparations for over a half century. Racial preferences in college admissions, hiring, and promotions, racial set-asides for government contracts, and racial quotas for hiring by government contractors, ALL providing preferential treatment and racial privilege to Black Americans and no one else, are clearly reparations. The result of all of this? I have four words for you. The first two: black president. The second two: black president, since once could be a fluke but twice is no accident. And the Black guy who arrives here from Africa or a Caribbean island, knowing no one and speaking with an accent, does just fine. So what's wrong with people who grew up here with all this black privilege? He has two jobs, you can't find ONE? Clearly it is not race that holds people back. it must be something else.

The wealth of this country was not built on the backs of slaves. Slavery was a poor economic system that benefited a few wealthy landowners. It created no jobs and provided no incentive for efficient labor. This country's wealth was built by the visions of entrepreneurs and inventors like Rockefeller, Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, even Steve Jobs, all of whom were at least initially free to pursue their visions without the yoke of the government. They became wealthy, but also created many jobs and made other people wealthy, too. Private enterprise and free markets made this country wealthy, despite efforts to stop it by people like Obama.

If a black can prove that they had an direct ancestor on both side of their family that were slaves and received no land or gifts from the master, then maybe we should go after the slave trader and owners families and have them pay the reparations. My ancestors came from Virginia and moved to Ohio, never had slaves. The other side came from Europe after Lincoln died so I see no reason why my taxes should be used for this. Now, the Browns in RI, founders liberal Brown University, and members of the Democrat tribe, made their money from slavery as did many other Northerners and they need to ante up. Anyway, Obama needs to shut up because his father was never a slave here and got a freebee to attend school.

If Bathhouse Barry is really the guy behind the curtain controlling Dementia Joe don't we have to take a close look at not just the Russia hoax but the behind the scenes meetings with Iran that undermined the Trump sanctions? The guy tried to manipulate the 2016 election, continued to go after President Trump during the transition and up to the inauguration - then after by undermining him. This should be dealt with. In addition, what part did Obama have in the election fraud? People want to know.

As usual, The Zero is a LIAR. His claim is absolutely NOT factual. Much of this country, like almost everything west of the Mississippi NEVER HAD ANY SLAVES at all, so nothing at all there was built by them. And much of the eastern portion of the country north of Virginia had very few slaves. Slave holding was primarily a thing in the rural SE, and that ended entirely 156 years ago. This is all lies and irrelevant political mechanations. All the real racists today have black skin.

First of all, only about 7 to 8 percent of families owned slaves. The vast majority of this nation did not have or use slave labor. So why make everyone who is not Black, pay anything to anyone? Second, Slave owners all lived in southern states; states that were not Republican, but Democrat. Third, it was not republican legislators that passed bills to legalize slavery in those states, it was Democrats. Fourth, nobody in my lifetime owned slaves and I'm 70. Why is anyone living today, blamed for slavery, responsible for slavery and ordered to make restitutions? So Obama is a bald face liar! His attempt to lie to the American people, and try to convince us that as a nation we own Blacks some sort of reparations, is totally bogus. If anything, make the Southern Democrats ONLY, pay reparations to the descendants of slaves, if we must, and for being members of the KKK the only true bigots and racists and for being haters of freedom and liberty and for trying to make us all, their slaves. Democrat own slaver, Republicans don't. But that will never happen because it's true and because it will destroy Democrat's plan to take over America with their version of tyranny. The truth will set you free, but they want the truth or for you to be free, they want you to be dependent on them (to be their slave), so they must create false narratives, lies and a false oppressor. The true oppressor is the Democrat Party and it's members, like Obama. The Democrat Party and our Democrat leaders are EVIL. They are doing Satan's bidding, by destroying truth, free speech, person rights and accusing the innocent of bigotry and being racists. They are committing insurrection and treason at the highest level. But they get by with it because they have place their own, in key places so nothing gets done to them. Everywhere true Americans turn for truth and justice, is being blocked by them. That is wrong and it's evil. Welcome to the United States of China, aka, the Democrat Party.

Reparations, freakin idiot. Who does this moron think freed the slaves. If anybody deserves reparations its all of the WHITE people who fought and died in a civil war to free them. Remember, the fact is, blacks were sold into slavery, not by the white guy but by their own freakin kind. That's right, they were captured and sold by their own. You want reparations, go ask Africa for it. Stop the insanity. Got it.

Obamacare was rammed through by Democrats using reconciliation process, and was highlighted by the famous quote from Nancy Pelosi, "we've got to pass the bill to know what's in it". He also used the continuing resolution process to "pass" a budget, and never negotiated one his 8 years in office and 2 years in the Senate.

What if there was more “White Resistance” to the slavers bringing African slaves to America hundreds of years ago to the effect that African slaves were not so unlucky to be brought to America? Well today the decedents of those would have been African slaves, instead of being in America, if they are alive today, would be residing in the cities, towns, and villages of Central Africa. Today there are millions of Black African people living in Africa who would love to come to America if that were possible, as they see America as the land of opportunity. Here is a better idea then handing out taxpayer’s cash as reparations to people who were never slaves. Black folks who live in and are disgruntled with America as it has evolved economically, politically, and socially, and cannot make it in the land of opportunity should be given first class travel expenses to defray their voluntarily return to Africa so they can experience living in utopian African cities, towns, and villages. At the same time for every Black person in America who voluntarily decamps to Africa, one Black African person living in Africa who wants to voluntarily immigrate to the land of opportunity should be granted a US immigrant visa to come and live in America. If such a government program were to become reality, you can safely bet that it would be ignored and called racist in US Black communities, and at the same time would be extremely popular throughout Africa. Maybe Obama would take that bait, as he surely would be proclaimed the King of Africa shortly after arrival there.

Not the first time Barry has distorted history for political purposes. Note that the USA wasn't exceptionally wealthy until decades AFTER the Emancipation. It wasn't until the second half of the 20th century that the USA surged to wealth by being the only major economy in the world not decimated by WWII. And THAT wealth was most definitely not built on the backs of slaves (unless you consider middle class union laborers to still be slaves).

In an open letter released Sunday, Pro-Life Evangelicals for Biden urged him to “honor his commitment” and include the Hyde Amendment in Democrats’ $1.9 trillion COVID-19 spending package, writing “we feel used and betrayed.” The letter states: We are very disappointed about the COVID-19 relief package’s exclusion of the Hyde Amendment, a longstanding bipartisan policy that prevents taxpayer funding for abortion. [snip] As pro-life leaders in the evangelical community, we publicly supported President Biden’s candidacy with the understanding that there would be engagement [with] us on the issue of abortion and particularly the Hyde Amendment

If you had any doubts that Meghan Markle is a manipulative piece of work, her bombshell Oprah interview Sunday night dumping on the British monarchy would set you straight. Prince Harry’s American wife accused his family of hateful racism against her baby, claimed they refused to protect her and drove her to the point of suicide. She made the incendiary and implausible charge that when she was pregnant with Archie, the royal family decreed that her unborn son would be denied the title of “prince” because her mixed race meant he might have dark skin.

Nancy Pelosi’s top priority is to turn America into a one-party nation ruled by Democrats. Her bill HR 1 trashes the U.S. Constitution in an attempt to rig the system and make it virtually impossible to elect a Republican president or Congress again. It’s a power grab. The bill eviscerates state voting laws and forces all the states to conform to a set of rules that includes automatic voter registration. Anyone who goes to a DMV or applies for food stamps, Medicaid or other social services, or attends a public college will be automatically enrolled to vote. Noncitizens are obligated to identify themselves and opt out,

The Royal Family was left reeling this morning after Meghan Markle tearfully revealed that the stress of royal life made her suicidal when she was five months pregnant, claimed Archie was denied the title of prince because he is mixed-race and said Kate Middleton made her cry before she married Harry in a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey. The couple also chose to reveal that they are having a baby girl to the tens of millions of people watching the CBS show broadcast in the US before accusing the Royal Family of racism and revealing the deep rift 'Megxit' has caused with Prince Charles and Prince William.

I’m probably second to none in my dislike for Meghan Markle. There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred. And the problem is that, when it comes to that left-wing diva, Meghan Markle, it’s hard to believe most of what she says. After weeks of hype, CBS finally televised Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah.

Without question, the vast majority of Americans who support former President Donald Trump were angry and frustrated throughout 2020 passed with barely a mention of then-U.S. Attorney John Durham’s criminal investigation into the FBI’s fraudulent “Russiagate” counterterrorism operation directed at his 2016 campaign. In the weeks before the November election, word got out that then-Attorney General William Barr wasn’t going to announce any indictments or even a report on Durham’s investigation because he did not want to influence the outcome. So far, in fact, the only indictment to come out of the Durham probe is that of former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith, who essentially got a slap on the wrist

Rep. Steve Cohen vowed to renew the push to remove former FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover’s name from the bureau’s downtown Washington headquarters, according to an interview released Monday. Appearing on Yahoo! News’ Skullduggery podcast, the Tennessee Democrat said the effort is getting a fresh look after the release of a new movie highlighting the FBI’s secret program to discredit civil rights activists. The Washington Times in 2019 first reported Democrats’ bid to strip the longtime FBI director’s name from the bureau’s headquarters. Mr. Cohen said the impetus to revive the bid is the new movie, “Judas and the Black Messiah.” The movie details

Thousands of illegal immigrants are being set free across the country as the crisis on the southern border escalates—and the White House admitted Monday it isn’t doing enough to discourage people from seeking unlawful entry to the United States. Speaking to reporters during a press briefing, White House press secretary Jen Psaki acknowledged the failures after being pressed about the administration’s handling of the situation. “I would say it’s clear we need to work more on getting the message out and being very clear, now is not the time to come,” said Psaki, before reiterating the Biden administration’s claim that “the majority
