The best explanation of Texas’s prolonged blackout was published by Mitch Rolling yesterday at AmericanExperiment.org. Texas gets electricity from six sources: coal, nuclear, natural gas, solar, hydro and wind. How did those sources perform, and what contributed to the blackout?
[W]e created a reliability grading scale designed to judge which energy sources came to the rescue, and which ones were largely no-shows, during the statewide power outages that rocked Texas.
***
For our grades, we used average capacity factors over the course of the Texas power outages to showcase which energy sources were performing the best, and which ones were non-factors. The graph below displays these capacity factors.

1 - ERCOT had EVERYTHING IN LINE. Ready to go. Ready for capacity.
Biden put his goons on it and hurt Texas.
2. Biden gave the US grid over to China
I think we have TWO compelling arguments for TEXIT.

The only thing you need to know, the only thing that matters: Ted Cruz went to Cancun. End of story.

And WHY didn't coal plants produce 100% of rated power during the emergency?
Because the EPA rules prevented them from running at full power output, reports say.

Interesting conclusion to Hinderaker's piece: "(W)hen it gets really cold–Minnesota cold, not Texas cold–all wind turbines are shut off, and they draw power off the grid to heat their motors. So when it is really cold, wind turbines are consumers of electricity, not producers."
Wind mills are eyesores wherever they're built, and people living near them have been sickened by low frequency noises generated by the structures. They have limited lifespans, and the huge blades have to be taken somewhere to be deposited after the windmills have been taken apart. This Nineteenth Century technology should have remained in history's junkyard. Bur Greens love it, along with solar. Incidentally, a solar facility needs one hundred times the land that a more efficient natural gas, nuclear, or coal plant would need. Windmills are one thousand times less efficient, in terms of land usage. Solar is for boutique level power; wind should be abandoned nationwide. It makes no economic sense.

70% of coal power was NOT USED.
That killed people.
That was because of Traitor Joe's EPA rules.

It’s just common sense that when the solar panels are covered with six inches of snow and the wind turbines in cold weather must be shutdown, that there is going to be a problem, just as Texas experienced with those sources of so-called renewable energy that could not generate any energy at all.
Remember the Democrats have been pushing for the nation to transform US energy production through what they call “A Green New Deal” or some policies that closely resemble the “Green New Deal” and shutdown and outlaw all fossil fuel generating plants that could well reduce US energy production to about the 1909 level. The elites don’t care they know that if those reduced energy proposals come to fruition, that for example, causing the licensing and taxing of all air conditioners, that the air conditioners of the elites and the rich and famous will continue to run, while air conditioners belonging to the ordinary Americans who could not pay for the high licensing fees and taxes would have to shut off their air conditioners or risk going to jail.

Some people have a problem with Ted Cruz going on a planned to Cancun.
There was nothing he could do here to help, but he could have stayed here and used the energy that kept someone else warm.
I say he made the correct choice.

And Biden came out and rejoined the Paris Climate Accord. Good times ahead. Good times.
"The United States officially has rejoined the Paris climate accord. ... From his first moments in office, President Biden signaled he is serious about curbing U.S. greenhouse gas emissions and prodding other nations to do the same."

The Republic of Texas approaches.
Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, S Dakota, N Dakota,Montana, Alberta (Canada), Saskatchewan (Canada), Manitoba (Canada), and a few states along the sides. Let's go EAST. Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida.
We have every warm water shipping port in The Gulf of Mexico and more oil than the Saudis ever dreamed of. California and New York can print their own money. If they want to trade they can go through Panama.
We WILL protect our borders ,north and south.
If you're coming to visit Texas bring your US passport with the pre-approved visitor's visa.

Three things will probably come out this year's state legislature - 'winterizaton'; mandated increases in fossil fuel (mostly gas) capacity; and billions in wholesale/retail rate increases to pay for it. (It's why the state lege meets every other year.) The enviros will scream but I noticed northwest U.S. politicians are using the Texas wind failure to push for increasing hydro electric capacity. The greens are trying to destroy the dams. The (very effective) argument against any change is found in 'The Arkansas Traveler.'
