Rep. Anthony Gonzalez isn't surprised that his political career is on the line after he and nine other Republicans voted to impeach Donald Trump last month for his role in the U.S. Capitol riot.
The vote not only might have cost Gonzalez his House seat from Ohio; it also all but erased his chances to run for an open Senate seat next year. But he's still fighting for himself and the future of his party. [SNIP] "I'm not an idiot," Gonzalez said. "I understand what this vote means and what it could potentially mean for my political career."

My only question for Gonzales is, "What career?"

His vote proved that he is either stupid or corrupt... likely both. He will be rewarded with a high paying lobbyist job after he is voted out, so don't shed any tears for him.

I am glad Gonzalez voted the way he did, as it will ensure his quick dismissal from his job. That is the best thing for us.

Come primary season in 2022, the big 587 TRUMP plane will be the backdrop of a campaign event in each of these traitors' congressional district--and their primary opponent and President Trump will be there reminding the voters who the turncoats are.

Of course he is not worried. He can just turn his coat and become a Democrat. I'm sure they'll welcome him with open arms to the party. He appears to have all the qualifications of a Democrat.

My political career????? Politics should NOT be a ''career!'' Three terms for a House seat and 2 for a Senate seat and then... GET A REAL JOB. We need TERM LIMITS!

Anyone who votes for articles of impeachment without viewing the evidence deserves to have his Congressional career crash and burn. He can rattle a tin cup outside of the Capitol building, or perhaps a sympathetic soul will buy him a beer now and then for his selfless bravery.

He's jockeying for a TV political pundit job, the Republican voice that spends more time criticizing their own party than it does the opposition.

Obviously, the political careers these people keep alluding to have nothing to do with representing we the people, but who are the people they're concerned about for their political futures?

The Mid-Term elections should be a Teaching Moment. #8 was right (well except about the kind of Plane) that Trump's Jet will be the Backdrop at every single rally he does for the Candidate running against the Republican who was dumb enough to think they could vote to Impeach Trump without consequence. Trump will draw crowds in the Thousands. Those people will not only show up, they will also send money to help the Primary candidate win! We will have to work together on this. Doesn't matter if any of those who voted against Trump live in our state. We still need to support the other States so they can rid the congress of those RINOS! We take back the House and we're back in the GAME! First Order of Business. Throw OUT Nancy Pelosi and DO NOT make McCarthy the new Speaker. He is NOT a Trump supporter. He just Plays one! Lets give it to Matt Gaetz!

Despite his own assessment, he is an idiot. That "long arc of history" to which he refers will doubtlessly prove he was wrong, that he is a willing fool in a charade. (Pelosi needed to put a Republican on the prosecution team - like Liz Cheney or this guy.) He will be rewarded, if not by his constituents, by the special interests that he forwarded with his vote. The UNIPARTY will see to it. Another American "Profile in Courage"...give them each a lantern, Caroline!

In an institution and a party not known for showing a spine, it saddens me to see a member demonstrate political courage casting a vote with which I deeply disagree.

The so-called trial put on by the Democrats without having the legal authority from the US Constitution or other law is a purely political act. Since Gonzalez decided to go along with the Democrats in pursuing that political act, chances are he will have to answer for his decision through another political act, the next election held in Ohio.

Remember each and every one of these RINO maggots this next election cycle. Hopefully a true MAGA conservative will challenge these reprobates. Because of people like Gonzalez and Liz Chaney I will never donate another dime to the RNC.
