A member of Congress who received a COVID-19 vaccine has tested positive for the disease.
Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-Mass.) tested positive for COVID-19 after receiving two doses of Pfizer’s vaccine.
“Congressman Lynch had received the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine and subsequently received a negative COVID-19 test prior to attending President [Joe] Biden’s inauguration,” a spokeswoman told news outlets.
The inauguration was nine days before Lynch tested positive.
Pfizer has said its vaccine is 95 percent effective in preventing COVID-19 in those without prior infection 7 days or more after the second dose. In an email, the company told The Epoch Times it does not know the specific details of Lynch’s case.

Why was he getting tested when he had taken the vaccine and had no symptoms?

If he gets super sick or dies of Covid (not with Covid) I'll take note. Vaccine has never been marketed as a 100% preventative. It is supposed to significantly reduce the possibility of a severe or lethal case.
Having had Covid myself, it was no worse than a bad sinus infection for us and most who get it actually. I know one senior who had a super bad case, she is having to relearn walking and fine motor skills now in rehab.

95% success rate is not 100% success rate. Why is this even a story?
1 in 20 vaccinated people can still get sick from it. This was one of those people. 1 in 20 is a lot of people when you consider hundreds of millions in the US alone and 8 billion in the planet. That's 400m who could still get it if the entire planet was vaccinated.

Pretty straight forward # 1
He was getting tested because he's a CONGRESSMAN..
I pray the reason that the vaccine didn't work was the same.

Number of questions here: how did this Democratic Congressman (Congressperson?) jump the line and get his Phizer vaccine so early in the game. Another "essential" partygoer in govt? Second: the Covid tests are notoriously unreliable.....about 40% false positives, so Mr. Essential Partygoer may not have even contracted the virus. Thiord: who cares.

Our 42 year old niece, who is a currently being treated for cancer, is also nurse working in a large hospital. She tested negative and was give the first dose of vaccine. A week and a half later had symptoms and tested positive for Covid. She had a very mild symptoms, quarantined for two weeks and got her second dose when she returned to work.
I asked why she needed a second dose when she had the disease and was told it was because they didn't know how long she would be immune. This doesn't compute with me. She had both, the vaccine and the disease...are we going to be told that we have to get the vaccine again and again? How many people who have had a definite, lab confirmed, case of Covid19 have contracted a lab confirmed second case of Covid? My friends brother who contracted the virus while in the hospital (many co-morbidities BTW ) also had a mild case, but keeps getting tested. He finally through the last tester out of his room because he didn't want his nose invaded for the twentieth time.
Will there ever be a time when enough is enough?

Imagine that. It doesn’t work. What is the effective rate? Lower than the death rate I’m sure. Take your chances.

Here we go with these positive tests. The real question is, does the guy have symptoms of the virus or did he just test positive. These positive tests are probably 40% inaccurate and have blown this whole pandemic out of proportion. I know people who have tested positive and yet never felt sick or had any symptoms. This is the first time in our history that we are creating conditions to control our population. Total insanity.

Any vaccine takes time to become fully effective. Sometimes, that takes weeks. Besides the waste of time, and the cost of being tested after getting the vaccine, I have a question as to why all the politicians are getting it, and my wife who is a teacher and in the first group to be able to get the vaccine and me who at 67 and in healthcare, can't even get an appointment to get the shot. We have filled out more than six applications both state and county, and we've found people under 30 are getting the shot who are also in our professions. The inequity of whole process is just more proof government screws everything up.

I've read several times, and there are numerous sites listed, that indicate covid vaccine will need to be yearly, just like the flu vaccine.

I would remind everyone that when Elon Musk had symptoms and went in to be tested, he had four tests administered on the same day, in the same office, by the same nurse. Two were positive and two were negative. So it was a coin flip whether he had COVID-19, or some other infection (i.e. seasonal flu).
The PCR test, the most commonly used, is junk. It's overly sensitive and will report false positives from just a trace of fragments of virus left over from a previous infection. Testing positive does *not* mean you have a clinical COVID-19 infection.
