Pfizer, CDC probing death of Florida
doctor who took COVID-19 vaccine

Pfizer says it is investigating the death of a Florida doctor who had received one dose of the company’s COVID-19 vaccine. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is also reportedly looking into the death of Gregory Michael, a 56-year-old obstetrician who had taken the shot 16 days earlier. Pfizer said there is no evidence so far indicating Michael’s death was caused by the vaccine it developed with German biotech firm BioNTech. Manhattan-based Pfizer called it a “highly unusual clinical case” of a condition called severe thrombocytopenia, which limits the body’s ability to clot blood and stop internal bleeding.

Comments:

I wouldn't suggest the vaccine actually caused the man's death any more than I would attribute to covid the death of someone with a serious bullet wound, Maybe the side effects should include possible loss of life? Strange how the reporting changes now the vaccine is out.

Who knows what killed the man, but Trump should be impeached for it.

So, if there are two vaccines, why aren't both kinds being used? All that I have heard about is the Pfizer vaccine. It would be good to have some competition.

Very likely that this death was caused by the vaccine. But 30,000,000 shots have been given. A rare fatality due to vaccine triggering a fatal immune response is to be expected. But the benefits of the vaccine (preventing 4,000 deaths per day in the US) vastly outweigh its risks

Agreed, #3. This is somewhat like the various Gulf War syndromes situation. Send a million folks to some location and regardless of what they run into, you can guarantee that some tiny fraction of those million people in the next 5 or 10 or 15 years will get sick, and some of them will die. And some of those sicknesses and deaths will be odd, unexplained/unexplainable health problems. Assuming that all the odd and unusual health problems over the next decade or two of a large cohort of people who crossed paths for a short period was caused by that location where they crossed paths is......well, certainly unproven, and almost certainly unprovable. Sometimes stuff just happens. Sometimes people just get sick and sad to say (and damned unsatisfying if it is you or a loved one) not all health problems have a 'fix' or even an identifiable cause. My mother died of a health problem which they called "ideopathic'......it meant that they had absolutely no clue why she got sick, and had no cure, not even a treatment. I really was upset at that, but there was nothing I could do. Nothing the best docs could do. So, maybe the vaccine did this, maybe not. We are a miraculous creation, and almost unimaginably complex in our daily bodily functions, breathing, eating, excreting, blood pumping, all those things are amazingly precisely done. And sometimes something just fails. And at my age, about the same as Rush, I see that more and more clearly every day. Every new 'feeling' or pain might be nothing, or it might be the beginning of something serious. Such is our lot in life. Sorry for the doctor who died. So far, the vaccinations seem pretty safe for most of us.

He died of ITP Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura which is an autoimmune disease. The mRNA vaccines can trigger immune problems> People are worried that it might lead to Lupus or rheumatoid disease or other autoimmune problems.

There was another doctor who had a severe reaction. They said he was allergic to shellfish. Not sure which I am more afraid of COVID or the vaccine.

Social media company Parler, which has been under attack from the far-left for not censoring conservatives, seems to have found a new home after Amazon Web Services decided to stop hosting the company’s site. The Washington Examiner reported: On Monday, Parler registered its domain and server to be hosted by Epik, an internet webhosting company known for working with right-leaning websites. Former first lady Michelle Obama condemned what she said was President Trump’s role in kindling dangerous and violent protests in D.C. on Wednesday, calling on the country’s major technology companies to permanently ban the president from their respective platforms. Obama characterized the pro-Trump protesters as a "gang" who "laid siege to the United States Capitol," adding that social media giants needed to take action to prevent this type of "monstrous behavior." "Now is the time for Silicon Valley companies to stop enabling this monstrous behavior – and go even further than they already have by permanently banning this man from their platforms and

A New York Democrat's bill that would allow the governor or his surrogates to detain individuals who pose a threat to public health "by a single order ... in a medical facility or other appropriate facility" sparked fierce backlash online. New York State Assemblyman N. Nick Perry is sponsoring Bill A416, which will be taken up by the Assembly's Health Committee on Wednesday. "So disturbing. NY bill allows for the *removal and detention* of anyone who 'may be a danger to public health.' Yes, that’s purposely undefined," conservative podcast host Allie Beth Stuckey wrote on Twitter. The city Department of Education turned John Tomasi into a phantom student — and not only gave him fake report cards, but wrongly put his family under investigation for child abuse. The 14-year-old never enrolled in Cobble Hill School of American Studies in Brooklyn. He never attended a single class, in person or remotely. Yet this fall, the public school created two report cards for John, both including teacher comments. His physical-education teacher twice gave John the highest grade: “ME” for “exceeds standards.” His algebra teacher cited “progress toward … understanding the connection between proportional relationships, lines, and linear equations,” among other skills.

I don't know if fed up Americans will rise up in the near future and defend their liberties against an ever more abusive and oppressive system of government, but I do know that 2020 has revealed vividly the post-constitutional wilderness the nation has entered. Not since the days of slavery or internment have federal and local governments attacked the natural rights and freedoms of individual Americans so concertedly as they have this past year. Arbitrary house arrests; the denial of religious freedoms; the closing of private businesses without any equitable measures of compensation; the intentional disregard for the destruction of private property while anarchists are given

If you simply listened to the mainstream news media, you’d get the impression that Florida has been hit uniquely hard by the coronavirus pandemic. At obsessive levels, the Sunshine State has been lambasted for daring to keep their economy open while not enacting pointless, draconian mitigation measures. Of course, the reality is far different from the media’s perceptions. Florida still only has about half the deaths per 100,000 compared to New York and New Jersey despite countless challenges to “just wait two weeks” that date all the way back to the spring. /snip for tweet/ That hasn’t stopped the left from continuing to trash Florida.

Happy Tuesday, good friends on the Kruiser Morning Briefing Way. Traditional folk dancing may yet save us. Shorter days here during this Winter Solstice week lead to long nights of pondering the future that awaits us in the new year. The flipping of the calendar page to January 1st holds less promise this year, of course, but ponder we must. When not dealing with the freedom-crippling vagaries of a political pandemic my mind wanders to the looming reality of the nightmare that will be the Biden-Harris administration and all of its promised “healing.” On Sunday night I was out in public enjoying drinks and an abundance of delicious Mexican

Multiple mainstream media outlets, including CNN and Politico, put out reports actually saying that Hunter Biden’s issues were worse than his father’s transition team statement let on. President Trump was impeached a second time by the US House of Representatives on Wednesday in a largely party-line vote that saw a handful of Republicans join Democrats to blame the outgoing commander-in-chief for sparking last week’s Capitol siege. The measure reached 217 “yea” votes shortly after 4:20 p.m. to make Trump the only president to be impeached twice. The final vote was 232-197, with 10 Republicans crossing party lines and four Republicans not voting when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif) announced around 4:35 p.m. No members of the GOP voted in 2019 to impeach Trump the first time.
