Cumulus Media, one of America's largest
talk-radio companies, tells its hosts—
including conservatives Mark Levin and
Dan Bongino—they will be fired if they
don't stop claiming election fraud

Cumulus Media is clamping down on claims about election fraud across their network of radio stations which feature right-wing talkers such as Mark Levin and Dan Bongino. In a memo sent internally, executive vice president Brian Philips made clear that radio hosts will be fired if they start or continue to make baseless claims about election fraud. 'We need to help induce national calm NOW,' the memo read. 'The election has been resolved, and there are no alternate acceptable 'paths,' the memo continued. 'If you transgress this policy, you can expect to separate from the company immediately.'

Comments:

"The Free Market" speaks. Don't like it? Start your own radio stations. Closed down by Twitter? Learn to code and build your own app. MSM refuses to broadcast anything but lies? Build your own TV networks, make your own Internet, etc. Fired from your job because you support the president? Go work for someone else. Credit card networks refuse to process your payments? Start your own credit card company. Resistance is futile.

Is Medved part of this group? I haven't listened to him for awhile but did today, for about ten minutes, when he stated that the big lie was that Trump won the election. He repeated it a couple of times before I switched stations, he is now banned from my house.

Cumulus Media needs to remember that the listeners are the ones who set the final agenda. Make your paid talking heads tell the audience what fools they are and you can be another Fox News watching your audience melting away.

But...four years of Trump is a criminal who colluded with Russia was okay, all day everyday? Four years of "Hillary got robbed," Bret Kavanaugh was a teenage rapist, Covington Catholic School kids are bigoted racists, and months of riots were actually "peaceful?" Even AFTER all evidence was examined and found to be manufactured by the previous administration spying on the incoming president? The "truth" is that a senile dope who has been a serial plagiarist and fabulist, the joke of the senate, and a self serving swap creature that couldn't draw flies to his pathetic "rallies" actually received the votes of 80 million actual the legal votes of living American citizens in an landslide never before seen in the history of presidential elections? Really?

The claims about election fraud certainly are not baseless, and anyone who says so is part of the conspiracy to steal the election. We do not need to "induce national calm now," we need to speak up and protest the stealing of our vote and our voices. That is what the 1st Amendment is all about. After someone robs you, you should just stay silent and not report it? They not only want to silence us, they tell us that we are crazy for reporting the robbery. The anarchists and leftists have been protesting, marching and taking over our streets, looting and burning our cities down for months now; but when we are robbed, we are supposed to shut up and obey our superiors. I don't have a superior. I can think for myself, observe facts and make my own conclusions, without being told by the media and politicians that I am a "right-wing nut."

To the OP's point - the left likes to make that their answer to calls to regulate their tech friends: just start your own business if you don't like it. But then if you do, these tech oligarchs will communicate and coordinate on the back channel to ensure that you can't function. As a former tech guy, I can assure you that there are myriads of vendors that you need to have lined up including development (web and mobile), hosting services, login authentication, site security, payment processing, and more importantly, access to the internet backbone. That is what has happened to Parler - they have been blacklisted because many in the tech community want to stay in business and not cross Zuck, Jack, and Jeff. greyseal How long before broadband service providers start refusing to allow certain site traffic to cross their boundaries? They could simply blacklist problem domains and suddenly people would stop seeing these sites go dark no matter what browser or device you use. I can see Cox, Spectrum and others telling customers that they don't support domestic terrorist speech and blacking out this site and others at the behest of their new masters.

Day one of Cumulus media going under was today. Without listeners they don't have advertisers and therefore revenue. The listeners follow the voices not the nameless invisible clown behind the scenes shuffling paper. They can get new jobs and people will follow them. He can't get a new radio network.

They aren't making "baseless claims" but stating undeniable facts. Used to listen to Nick Di Paolo on Sirius XM. They canned him because he wasn't a lib. He went to something called a podcast. I don't even know what a podcast is but it what you go to after you've been canned. So the future of conservative talk is podcasts.

All that remains are for people like Levin and Bongino to 'disappear' in a 'late nite police raid'. Far fetched? That's up for you to decide. Opportunists use every opening, like pretending to be MAGA protestors and then causing destruction, knowing that is exactly what the media have been begging for since the first riots.

A critical race studies and ethnic studies professor at the University of Colorado-Boulder says Americans wondering why Black citizens commit anti-Asian hate crimes have an answer: “White supremacy.” The educational watchdog Campus Reform spotlighted the commentary of Jennifer Ho, which preceded President Biden’s newly signed legislation aimed at combatting hate crimes against Asian Americans. “Anti-Asian racism has the same source as anti-Black racism: White supremacy,” Ms. Ho wrote for The Conversation. “So when a Black person attacks an Asian person, the encounter is fueled perhaps by racism, but very specifically by White supremacy. White supremacy does not require a White person to perpetuate it.”

Transgender advocates are calling Tennessee “the state of hate” in response to a series of new laws aimed at protecting biological women. LGBTQ activists see the laws as discriminatory to transgenders and say the Republican-run state is increasingly hostile to transgender rights. They’re also threatening legal action. “Tennessee has gone well above board to go after trans folks,” said Sasha Buchert, an attorney for Lambda Legal, a pro-LGBTQ legal group. “This isn’t about policy, it’s about prejudice.” Since March, there have been at least four new laws implemented in the Volunteer State that involve the rights of transgender individuals and biological women.

It seems like a crazy urban legend: In China, drivers who have injured pedestrians will sometimes then try to kill them.
