A severely weakened House Speaker Nancy Pelosi won re-election on Sunday with only 216 votes, less than a majority of 218 in the U.S. House of Representatives.After voting concluded according to C-SPAN’s count, Pelosi had 216 votes and an emboldened House minority leader Rep. President Donald Trump said that Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger was unable to answer questions about boxes of ballots being wheeled out from under a table after Republican poll workers were told by Fulton County officials that vote-counting was done for the night on Nov. 3.
“I spoke to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger yesterday about Fulton County and voter fraud in Georgia,” Trump wrote Sunday morning on Twitter.
The president said Raffensperger “was unwilling, or unable, to answer questions such as the ‘ballots under table’ scam, ballot destruction, out of state ‘voters,’ dead voters, and more. He has no clue!”

Joe Biden has called for a scaled down inauguration, supposedly in the name of containing COVID.
According to Al Jazeera, which seems to be the only one doing straight reporting on this:

The Los Angeles County Superspreader Task Force detained at least 900 people after shutting down five New Year’s Eve parties.
The task force also arrested or issued 90 citations and recovered at least six guns at the parties, three of them being in downtown Los Angeles, Malibu, and Pomona, KTTV reported. The Malibu party was held at an upscale home after it had been promoted on Instagram.
The sheriff’s department showed up in the middle of the party, warning the crowd via loudspeaker, “This is the LA County Sheriff’s Department. This superspreader party is now over. Anybody who refuses to leave will be subject to arrest.”

Iran's mullahs are out for revenge, and the only question is when.
They've got a special little cold spot for President Trump for his rubout of Qassem Soleimani, Iran's chieftain of the country's detested National Guard who maimed and killed Americans in Iraq. They've even vowed "severe revenge" with plenty of talk that they might just use today, the first anniversary for it, for this purpose, or else another, Jan. 19.

In a few short weeks, Donald Trump will no longer be president, but the serious and politically fraught investigations into him will continue well into 2021. These investigations, unfortunately for the president and the country itself, don’t involve imaginary visits to Moscow hotel rooms. Instead, they’re aimed directly at Trump’s business dealings and they pose serious problems for the soon-to-be ex-president, and the country itself. Much has been written about the pandemic-driven favorable aspects, promise, and implications of virtual working compared to traditional in-person interfaces. We are all woke to the now known to be unnecessary complications, inconveniences and costs of physical offices, urban crime, commuting, and virus-transmitting.
Much less has been written about virtual management's implications for decentralizing the federal government and putting the decision-makers physically among the decision-affected — real instead of virtual reality.
