U.S. Senator Ted Cruz has one of those rare opportunities to redeem his entire political career by supporting President Trump on January 6, 2021. This is a rare second-chance; let us hope Ted Cruz has the grace, humility and strength to see it.In 2016, during the RNC convention to nominate Donald Trump, a bitter and divisive Ted Cruz self-immolated on a national stage.
The collapse was so catastrophic when Cruz attempted to return to the convention donor suite in the Cleveland auditorium he was kicked out by Cruz’s main financial backers, Robert and Rebekah Mercer. Senator Cruz never recovered.

The original squabble was, I think, started by a Democrat operative in one of the two's camps. They started the whole line of, "Did you hear what he said?..." They didn't catch on right away. I saw this happen in several campaigns where an otherwise solid candidate ended up losing by saying something totally out of character and moronic. Usually, they were fed "hearsay" information by a volunteer to set up a question from a reporter.

Why attack one of the TRUE conservatives in Washington? What's the point? Ted Cruz doesn't have to redeem himself to anyone or for anything.

Sen. Cruz announced that he is onboard with the EC objection on the 6th. Thank you Ted. 12 senators total.
I wonder if there can be rolling objections, 1 each Congressman and Senator at a time to extend the debate and provide for a full airing of the evidence. With 12 senators and 140 congressmen, that’s 24 hours of floor hearings/debate, maybe extend it through Friday or Saturday. The Media would have no choice but to cover it, given the risk that VP Pence poses to Biden via the 12th Amendment.

Ted Cruz is no different than 99 other Senators. Every one of them is calculating, and leadership gives each opportunities to enhance their special sauce along the way, even if in opposition to something, unless it matters. Along the way these critters will cover for one another, helping things with procedural votes that don't make headlines, favoring schedules, asking the "right" questions in hearings. And the chumps have no idea. Let's not forget that PDT ENDORSED Romney for election.

Cruz is posturing for 2024. Unless he is willing to go all in and see to it that the 2020 election fraud is reversed and Trump in re-elected, nothing to see here.

It's nice to know that several senators and congressman are opposing the fraudulent election - - but there's only one voice that really counts - - Fightin' Roy Blunt.
Fightin' Roy - - appointed a senate leader by no less than Mitch McConnell - - has been all over television, radio, newspapers, internet - - day in and day out - - fighting for the Constitution, for President Trump, for the Republican party, and for the American people. I don't know where he gets all that energy - - but I'm sure glad it's there.
Thank you Missouri - - for Fightin' Roy Blunt - - our greatest patriot!

My constitutional law professor once remarked that the only lens through which to view the United States Senate is that it is composed of 100 individuals all of whom think they should become president and believe in their heart of hearts that they would do a better job of it than whomever resides in the White House and better than any of the other 99.
Surely every Republican in Congress realizes that if the dems pull off this fraudulent election, they'll be emboldened to do the same in multiple elections, endlessly into the future. I'm disappointed but not surprised by Pierre Delecto. I'm appalled at the perfidy of Mitch McConnell. The rest of them are just a pit of scorpions; but even scorpions will be useful if they unite to kill this colossal fraud.

I may be (and will continue to be) a Trump voter but I also recognize the horrendous things he does on occasion, not the least saying Cruz's father was in a picture with Lee Harvey Oswald and somehow implicated in the JFK shooting (!) and that Cruz's wife was/is ugly. Trump may offer good things for the country but as a decent human he can be pretty nasty. Look how he just pulled the rug out from under his negotiators re: that $600 check. Trump could have spoken up way back when but he marched in at the last second and caused chaos (for his own ego.). And MAY have endangered a Republican win in Georgia. I may vote for the man but I certainly don'tt have to accept his behavior and think Cruz is the one who is being the grown cop here, and is thinking of the COUNTRY and not himself.

Yeah, Ted Cruz had his doubts about Trump in 2016. I did, too, and didn't support Trump in the primary. Everybody thought Hillary would wipe the floor with him in the general election and so there wasn't any downside in being an anti-Trumper at the time. Remember how all the Republican intelligencia wanted him to withdraw after the "Access Hollywood" tape came out (how convenient, huh) back in October 2016?
But since the 2016 election, Ted Cruz has stood there to support President Trump. Which is much more than I can say for most of the DC Republican leadership.

This clown at Conservative Nuthouse apparently thinks Cruz needs his approval. People that know this kook know how hateful and revengeful he tends to be. At his website comments won’t be printed until they are APPROVED. Just like the good old soviets.

I can count on my hand the big name republicans that have been the most loyal to Trump and Ted is one, others include Ron DeSantis, Mike Pence, and Rand Paul.

I guess I have more belief in Cruz than Sundance does. It seems that once Cruz puts his name to something, he does tend to follow through. He has been a Trump supporter in the Senate when it was not a popular stance to have. What on earth has flown up Sundance's britches? He never used to make the mistake of assuming bad things about people.

Some of us have long enough memories to remember that Trump quoted the National Enquirer in accusing Cruz's father of being aligned with Lee Harvey Oswald and the JFK assassination. Cruz certainly had his reasons for NOT endorsing Trump wholeheartedly while those wounds were fresh and I'll never blame him for his action (or lack therof) at that point in time. I'm also aware that Cruz wants to displace McConnell as leader of the Senate, so I can't say he's without someone self-centered motive. I am proud that he has demonstrated good character in supporting Trump - especially considering Trump putting his shoulder to the wheel during Cruz's most recent election. I'm a bit confused by this coalition of Senators being separately tabulated from Josh Hawley. I'll be making calls tomorrow to every Republican Senator to participate in the objection - including McConnell. His standoff with the Senate appears to have cracked substantially that he should save face by joining those that are standing for election integrity!

Ted Cruz is very different from his fellow Texan senator, John Cornyn, much less all of the "blue" republicans from the purple states, where the uniparty has been rising since 1988. He's more of a conservative metronome than a faux conservative tap dancer.

Ted Cruz is my senator. I have watched him standing firmly behind President Trump these past 4 years.
Sure, he played a little politics when he ran against President Trump in the primary, but quickly swallowed his pride and has stood for right ever since then.
I tried to read this, and don't get where these idiots are coming from at all. Ted Cruz has been a huge supporter of President Trump. And if there is any justice in the universe, Ted Cruz will make an exceptional Supreme Court Justice in my lifetime!!!!!

Instead of trashing Cruz, Sundance might be asking where Texas Senator Cornyn and other spineless Republican swamp creatures are on the biggest fraud in American history.
Mostly sitting on their thumbs with their eyes tight shut while the American experiment in self government disintegrates and eager to begin again the Republican Party chant, "We're number 2, we're number 2!"

In 2018, when Cruz was in a close race with Beto, President Trump came to his aid. I don’t share Sundance’s cynicism. Besides, this is not personal. This is about our country and the integrity of our present and future elections . I do hope Cruz et al come through.
