Engaging With Trump’s Die-Hard Supporters
Isn’t Productive

Original Article

President-elect Joe Biden made national unity a centerpiece of his campaign, and no patriotic American who wants to repair the damage of the Donald Trump years can argue with such a noble call. The election is over, and we can now undertake the tasks Trump neglected, including fighting the coronavirus pandemic and restoring our alliances. But millions of Americans are not ready to declare that bygones are bygones and engage the loyal Trump supporters they might still find among their neighbors, friends, or families.

Nichols sounded familiar so I had go check this year's Pulitzer prize for fiction . Thought this fiction writer may have won but it was "The Nickel Boys " by Colon Whitehead - apparently Jim Crow racism wasn't bad enough so it had to be amplified in fiction - so of course it won a Pulitzer along with the NYT "1619" BS.

Golly who'd have thought a wise magazine like the Atlantic would have shown such wisdom in the face of the naughty nasty right wing supporters of Trump. It breaks my heart to think that their cry for "patriotic citizens" who should link arms and sing cumbyyah will be rejected by the mean savages on the right. Perhaps their nonstop lies for four years, their participation in a political coup and then an election theft have something to do with our unwillingness to make nice nice kissy kissy. You revile us and then expect us to just join the chorus. Good luck. You and you illegal friends burning down democrat cities, and breaking laws to stack and election deck are not going to be accepted as legit no matter how hard, and I doubt it will be too hard Biden himself couldn't get thru an appeal to unity before he slimed us once again, you try. I'd say take a small leap off a tall building but I doubt you will. Neither will we. If you think you've done something good and noble by stealing the presidency well good luck with that.

I found the article entertaining and enlightening, especially when viewed through the prism of progressive projection. The author is scared. He doesn't want socialist-minded minions to engage Trumpers because of exposure to the truth. He helpfully includes the topics for good Marxists to ignore with helpful ridicule of the most dangerous. "I don’t want to treat our fellow citizens with open contempt, or to confront and berate them. Rather, I am arguing for silence." The author rightly senses that Trumpers will not be cowed by the usual leftist tropes; that Trumpers are informed and armed with evidence through their cell phones. President Trump and his Army of the Deplorables don't back down and keep fighting. This is a paradigm they are still struggling to even recognize, yet alone learn how to respond beyond their old commie bromides. In the world of the "enlightened", social standing is the yardstick that measures all success and place in the pecking order. Ostracizing the unworthy is the greatest punishment in totalitarian systems. The author thinks that having lunatic lefty relatives not engage them will make Trumpers unhappy enough to rethink their wayward ideas. Little does Mr. Nichols realize that complete radio silence from the Left would be the greatest Christmas present ever given to American Patriots. MAGA - Even Biden knows he lost...and he knows very little.

I take extreme issue with Biden's alleged unity during his campaign. One, it didn't happen. Two, we cannot make peace with a tyrant and a person (and persons) who claims a win when he knows he cheated like heck. Biden may keep up the fool, but he knows in the deep recesses of his evil heart that he didn't win, and he knows the American people did not/do not want him as President. We want President Donald Trump, and we will never accept Biden. NEVER! This knowledge will haunt and destroy him no matter how this shakes out.

Austin, Texas The University of Texas' long-awaited report on “The Eyes of Texas” has found that the school song has “no racist intent," but the school president said athletes and band members will not be required to sing or participate when the song is played at games and campus events. The 58-page report, released Tuesday, was commissioned last year by school President Jay Hartzell after a group of Texas athletes, most notably football players, demanded the school drop the song as part of racial injustice protests. The issue erupted into a tempest of fan outrage when football players chose to leave the field instead of

The worst kept secret in Washington, D.C., is that Joe Biden is suffering from serious age-related cognitive decline. In January, although some people predicated he would remain in office for up to two years before he was gently ushered out to make room for Kamala Harris, I looked at the man and thought he was going to be retired by June. Lately, though, Biden looks as if he’s heading for an April or May retirement. On Monday, he had his worst public appearance yet, when he was unable to remember either the name for his Secretary of Defense or the Pentagon.

Is this a new defiance against Donald Trump by the GOP? Or a clever marketing ploy by Trump and his team? Over the weekend, Trump’s attorneys sent a cease-and-desist order to the RNC over their use of Trump’s name in their fundraising efforts. Their predictable response all but guarantees the party will continue to build its brand around Trump’s: The Republican National Committee is denying a cease-and-desist demand from Donald Trump’s attorneys, who asked the party organization to stop using the former president’s name and likeness in fundraising appeals.

"The only thing we have to fear is...fear itself — nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.” — Franklin Delano Roosevelt The recent school reopening guidance released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is an example of fears influencing and resulting in misinterpretation of science and harmful policy. In the U.S. 50% of schools are closed and more only partially open. President Biden ran on a campaign indicating that science and data would guide his policy. As we approach the anniversary of the first COVID shut down, this approach is needed more than ever, especially when it comes to schools.

There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred.
