Matthew Stafford kneeled during national anthem before the Detroit Lions and Houston Texans Thanksgiving Day matchup, leading to Twitter paying attention.
The quarterback, along with Texans' quarterback Deshaun Watson, were among the NFL players who knelt during the national anthem before the game. In September, Stafford kneeled during the national anthem and after the game, explained to reporters why.
"Just felt like it was the right thing at the right time," Stafford said, via MLive.

Taking a knee in protest of the election rigging, ballot stealing democrats? Didn’t think so!

This kneeling has been going on for a long time, I was curious why this one player kneeling deserved attention.
FTA: "Three years ago, when NFL players first started kneeling during the national anthem to protest police brutality, Stafford and his wife were vocal critics against it. Since then, he and his wife have issued a public apology for opposing the protests."
His explanation is a string of feel-good buzz words, "'Just felt like it was the right thing at the right time,' Stafford said, via MLive. 'Obviously it's been an amazing off season just for our team, for a lot of people, something where there’s been great opportunity for growth and learning and understanding, and just felt like it was the right thing for me.'"
Stafford has also ponied up "$1.5 million to help promote diversity, inclusion, equity and social justice at the University of Georgia, his alma mater, with $350,000 of that heading to a new social justice program for the athletic department."
Me thinks his blockers may not have been protecting him quite as much as they should.

Baker Mayfield is prominently featured in the Progressive commercials ("Home with Baker Mayfield") and gets paid millions for sponsoring products (Hulu, Progressive, Amazon). He made a public statement about kneeling, then reversed it quickly after things did not go well with the public (https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/browns-baker-mayfield-reverses-course-on-anthem-stance-hours-ahead-of-2020-season-opener/).

What is this "football" thing you write about? I recall there was a time when it mattered to many people, but since it was demolished by SJW activism, it has become an archaic institution, interesting only for historical purposes. Americans have more important things to concern themselves with now.

Well I would say it was a kneel on the final nail of the NFL coffin. Stupid overpaid quarterbacks kneeling to represent what? I don't see any great oppression in the NFL but I certainly would like to see Stafford replaced with someone of color, because that apparently is the most important thing these days, the hue of your skin seems to be more important than the talent that lies beneath. Is that right Matthew? Get woke give all that money you make to some worthy cause like supporting your local drug dealer or looter or perhaps those people who are trafficking in humans particularly the little ones. Take a few more steroids and go out and get hit in the head a few more times. it will do you a world of good, you putz. Have your jerseys made in some Chinese slave factory and then tell American workers they can stuff it. Well good luck to you. Have a happy holiday. Thank goodness we didn't watch either of the nitwits, The diehard football fans in this house have moved on to more patriotic endeavors.

I haven't just been on an NFL boycott for nearly 4 years, I have been on a Football-of-all-types boycott. Haven't missed it one bit. Proud to say I was not a patron of this disgrace.

So, Mr. Stuck on Stupid,
Will you stand for all the white people killed by the blacks?
Will you stand for all the white people sucker-punched by the blacks?
Will you stand for all the white girls raped by the blacks?
Will you stand for all the qualified whites displaced due to Diversity and Affirmative Action?
Will you stand for all the white taxpayers subsidizing black entitlement addicts?
And finally, will you stand for all the white business owners who filed bankruptcy after black lootings and BLM burning down their city?
.....and the answer is, "NO", because you're too STUPID to PROCESS all of the above.

Stafford and his lousy team got trounced yesterday in a rather boring game. But what got to me were those commercials. Judging by them, America must be 90% black.

Since I haven't watched an NFL game this season, I didn't see this. I won't be watching any NFL (or NBA games for that matter) this season, and probably next season and beyond. That is not to say that I don't like either football or basketball, because I do.

That is one stupid white boy.
Either that or he is so frightened of his own team mates that he cowers on a knee.

No choosing to watch trash, I would not have known this had it not been posted here.
But, out of curiosity, I decided to check on the success of the two teams mentioned/ Both Houston and Detroit are 4 wins, 7losses, and no ties for a winning percentage of .364. May they continue at that level of sub-mediocrity because they are sub-Americans.

I felt like the right thing to do at the right time was not to watch any NFL games this year and possibly forever--we shall see how things unfold. I have watched almost all of the Bears games for more than 40 years and they have not been participating in this crap (as far as I can tell) but my right thing to do at the right time was not to watch any NFL games this year (NBA has been dead to me for years). We will see if NFL owners can continue to pay their athletes ridiculous amounts with restricted revenue.

Yeah it is always a good time to slap America's face. Especially after winning the NFL lottery to get picked by a team, right Stafford? You and your whole profession of crybabies have no clue what the word oppression even means, let alone ever experienced true and real oppression. Why don't you take some of your salary and go on a tour of Zimbabwe or South Africa and see real oppression for a change? Then you might get a clue.

Athletic sports are for kids so that they can learn lessons about life, not for grownups to play or watch. I guess the kneelers didn’t learn anything growing up, certainly not respect for their flag and fans. Fans who tolerate their behavior didn’t learn anything either. Turn off the TV and watch your kids and grandkids play sports. Let them learn about fair play, defeat, sacrifice, respect, and teamwork which will help them build character rather than becoming one.
