New homes and buildings in San Francisco won’t be able to use natural gas or other fossil fuels for their heating and appliances beginning in June of next year.
Instead, all new construction in the city must use only electricity for heating, cooling, cooking, and other activities, according to a new city ordinance passed unanimously on Tuesday by the city’s Board of Supervisors.
“It is necessary and appropriate to stop construction of new natural gas infrastructure in San Francisco in order to reduce the unique impacts San Francisco will endure from global warming,” the ordinance said.
Buildings make up a huge portion of San Francisco’s emissions.

Are we back to the 'global warming' rise? I thought the eco-terrorists replaced that phony story with 'climate change'. I know that their screams of global cooling, ozone layer holes, cow flatulence and other such nonsense were thoroughly disproved. So now we are back to the future?

historians, a hundred years from now, will be able to hold academic conferences on the subject of 'turning a developed nation into the third world status.'
It won't take a nuclear war to do that - just a bunch of smug leftist loons.

So, San Fran goes from clean, reliable natural gas to the rolling blackouts of unreliable solar. It's a good thing that the climate is not that of Minnesota.

Go all out and ban electricity too. Heck, put water and indoor plumbing on the list of things to ban as well.

They should stop filtering water and collecting trash. Those are both bad for global warming too.

Excellent, the faster the experiment in lunatic leftist cartoon physics is conducted the sooner we see the inevitable results. All we need to do is to fight like hell to keep our tax dollars from tainting the results by bailing them out.

I love it. A State without one source of electric power and a city in that country banning everything not electrically powered. California does not have a power plant.
The absurdity of this is amazing.

The Board of Supervisors cannot be that ignorant, so the question is, where are they getting their payoffs to make them pass such legislation? Or are they just trying to force all reasoning people to leave?

I cannot imagine using all electricity in an office tower. The cost for heating and providing hot water will be astounding on an ongoing basis.

Do there idiots have any idea what this impact will have on their power grid? Also, where do they think electricity comes from? They need to go back to 7th grade science class and review their lessons.

Every city and state official in California works on the payoff system, including the big guys like Garcetti and Newsom. You don't get elected otherwise. It's why major projects double in budget and nothing works. It's why public works drones retire on six figure pensions.
The good news is that soon California will begin drawing tourists again. People will be able to walk for miles on beautiful beaches and look at the ruins of homes and cities that used to make up the skyline. The Sea Lion population in San Francisco will be huge. You may have to step around a few bones but at least they won't smell bad.

So move the emissions from the buildings to the power plant, located at a distance, usually where the pollution will impact poorer people. They don't call this assemblage of liars and hypocrites "the Board of Stupidvisers" for nothing.

Anything other than a sun warmed rock should be illegal in California for cooking. If you want to go there...go all the way boys and girls! We will continue with clean nuclear and gas here in Minnesota!

This is a good idea because electricity is available everywhere and it doesn't pollute. You just plug into an outlet and - presto!
