Supreme Court rules against
Cuomo's coronavirus limits
-- with Barrett playing key role

The U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday night blocked New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo from reimposing strict attendance caps at worship services in areas hit hard by the novel coronavirus. The court ruled 5-4 to bar Cuomo from enforcing his Oct. 6 “Cluster Initiative” against houses of worship that sued to challenge the restrictions. The order was also the first in which Justice Amy Coney Barrett played a decisive role. Barrett, who was President Trump's third Supreme Court nominee, joined the court Oct. 27, after winning Senate confirmation following the Sept. 18 death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

So much for that vaunted 6-3 conservative majority. It's 5-4, but that's good enough for the win.

From the article: "Meanwhile, Chief Justice John Roberts joined the court’s liberal wing in the dissenting opinion, which stated the court had acted rashly." This shows that Fox News' David Aaro has not been paying attention to how Roberts votes. He joined the liberal wing immediately and was never a conservative justice. He has made statements that clearly shows he dislikes conservatives. President Trump and the republicans had to fight hard to get conservatives on the court, but the Bush boys were not up to that fight. They licked liberals so that they could "get along" with the democrats and avoid a nasty conformation battle. I think that is what "compassionate conservatives" do.

One of the commenters after the article made the key point. There is no provision to suspend the Constitution in times of emergency and that is exactly what these Governors are attempting to do. One politician, minus the Legislature (the people’s representatives) has appointed him or herself as supreme ruler over their State. Now we have precedent .

So we have 4 Justices on the Supreme Court who will not uphold our Constitutional right of Freedom of Religion. The have violated the oath they swore when they became a Justice of the Supreme Court tp Protect and Defend the Constitution. If we truly had a real party in power dedicated to defending the Constitution and our freedoms, (not the republican party) they would all be impeached and removed starting with that disgusting lying freak Roberts. Just what kind of dirt do they have on you Roberts? The other 3 should also be removed on the grounds of complete stupidity. I wonder if any of them has actually read the Constitution? More and more as this blatant election coup unfolds it is glaringly obvious that the republican party is infested with covert and in some cases overt participants in this attempted democrat communist takeover. Either we purge the Republican party of any and all republican traitors who betray our country and the people who voted them into office or form a new party. I am now fully convinced that the republican party must go and I am a registered republican. The party is too deeply corrupted and in league with the democrat communists. As President Reagan once said - I didn't leave the Democrat Party, the Democrat Party left me. Same now goes for the worthless republican party. They should all be on the front lines with President Trump doing everything in their power to fight against this coup but instead "crickets". How they must hate President Trump to turn this Republic over to a communist, totalitarian party or they are following their paymasters in China orders. Some examples of republican traitors: Miss Lindsey Graham (how he has immediately changed his tune upon being re-elected, the Ryan stooge who now leads the House republicans McCarthy, Romney, that clown Senator from South Dakota, Rubio, Collins, Murkowski (Skeleton Woman) and the list goes on. After we win this battle they must go or we go.

Paris climate treaty

Here we are in the midst of a once-in-a-half-century pandemic, with the economy flattened, millions of people unemployed, and unrest on the streets of our cities. And President-elect Joe Biden says that one of his highest priorities as president will be to reenter the Paris climate accord. President Trump kept his "put America first" promise and pulled the United States out of this Obama-era treaty. Biden wants us back in. Why? Paris is an unmitigated failure. You don't have to take my word for it. National Geographic, a supporter of climate change action, recently ran the numbers and admitted in its recent headline: "Most countries aren't hitting 2030 climate goals."

Teachers unions have been instrumental in keeping American schools online during the pandemic. But some have escalated their positions on reopening to include an array of social justice demands. A set of demands from teachers unions in July, which addressed how to safely reopen schools amid a pandemic, was criticized by The Wall Street Journal editorial board as “political extortion.” The board argued that unions were taking advantage of a health crisis to advance their own ideological agendas and to eliminate competition from charter schools.

It reminds me of that old saying which I think was from Einstein, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.” Polling, at least the old-school style, is over. Done. I don’t need to go through a long list of reasons why nobody should take pollsters seriously anymore, but a few data points are instructive.

President Trump granted a pardon to Michael Flynn, his former national-security adviser, today. Flynn had pled guilty to lying to FBI agents about conversations, during the 2016 transition, with the Russian ambassador about sanctions. Flynn’s pardon should bring to an end one gross violation of the Constitution’s separation of powers, even as it gives rise to groundless accusations of another. Although Flynn had pled guilty, the circumstances of the case had raised serious concerns about whether the government had proceeded properly. The FBI, for example, questioned Flynn even though it did not appear he had violated any law. In May, Attorney General William Barr ordered the case dropped.

In fact, up to 50 million Americans are traveling over the Thanksgiving weekend, according to the American Automobile Association, or AAA. The US reported 2,046 deaths Wednesday -- the highest one-day coronavirus death toll the country has reported since early May, Johns Hopkins University data shows. The country also hit a new daily hospitalization record, with 89,954 people currently hospitalized for Covid-19, according to the Covid Tracking Project.
