A second national lockdown will be imposed across England from midnight on Thursday with all nonessential shops, restaurants, pubs and leisure facilities to close for at least four weeks, Boris Johnson has said. The prime minister dramatically escalated the country’s response to the pandemic in a press conference on Saturday evening, telling the public “the time has come for further measures” which will remain in place until 2 December.
People have been told to “stay at home as much as possible”, but will be allowed to leave their homes for education, medical appointments and to shop for essential goods.

Boris Johnson, personal physician for Great Britainers, who can dispense with their personal physicians, now redundant. You are in good hands now, Britainers.

Thats the difference between being a subject and a citizen. I just got back from a local chain store. About 1/3 of the customers were not wearing masks. Nobody was bothering them (us). No secret police tackling the maskless, no Karen patrols accosting our mostly armed citizens. Its almost like being free.

Merely postponing the spread for four weeks. It will start up again when this lockdown ends. The virus is out there. It will not be substantially brought down until the population is vaccinated or has acquired herd immunity. Imagine the additional damage to the economy, the educational institutions, mental health, suicide, etc.

Insanity, doing the same thing over and over, but expecting a different result. A virus can’t be stopped, but an economy can be destroyed, doing far more damage than the virus itself.

If it didn't work in the past, there is no reason to expect it to work in the future. Nuts

Okay, something fishy is going on world wide. All of a sudden we need to lock down again. This makes no logical sense. If all the precautions taken so far haven't stopped it, why do they think going backwards to lockdowns will work? It didn't and won't. Thus, I think, there is more going on than we are being told.

As the election approaches local media and politicians are warning of dire consequences from increasing numbers of "cases." Uh huh.

There's still lots of British Aristocrats and globalists that are trying to sabotage the Brexit plan despite the clear vote to leave at the end of the year with or without a "deal" from the EU. If the economy is in a severe recession or depression they may make the argument that they have to delay Brexit for "emergency" reasons. Just a hunch.

Always thought Boris would eventually show his true (underworld) colors...why doesn't he overhaul the The National Health Service. Never let a crisis go to waste.

Stupid, stupid man. If this nincompoop had actually read the Imperial College report that triggered his lockdown lunacy back in February, he would seen multiple clear statements that the so-called "Case Fatality Rates" that were used to drive lockdowns were being massively distorted by the sickness level of the limited numbers being tested at the time.
With the exception of priapic super-spreader Neil Ferguson, who spent the very lockdown he called for sneaking out to get laid, the Imperial College report's authors were abundantly clear that their data was completely unreliable because the people being tested were also the people most likely to die.
Johnson either didn't read the report or he didn't understand it. So instead he destroyed his country's economy for no reason. Now he's going to do it again.
What an imbecile.
