The night before the expected arrival of some great news is often filled with tension. Word from the Marathon, Waterloo, and Apollo 13 after reentry were times like those. Men prepare mentally for the worst while secretly hoping for the best, in Benson’s words, “like men on the eve of a great voyage, [who] know not what may be in store, what shifting of scene, what loss, what grief, what shadow of death.” There is a sense of being trapped in a chain of events from which there is no escape, no way to start time again except by going forward and discovering what tomorrow brings.
“But

Joe Biden campaigned in Pennsylvania on Saturday and in three separate interviews by local media, was pressed about his comments during the debate about wanting to “transition” from fossil fuels to wind and solar power. He was also closely questioned about his views on fracking, that he still has trouble answering.
This has become a genuine issue in Pennsylvania, an energy-producing state with tens of thousands of jobs in the industry.
Fox News:
“Look I’m from Scranton, Pennsylvania. My great grandfather was a mining engineer. So I come from coal country. And I’m not talking about eliminating fracking, I just said no more fracking on federal lands,” Biden told CBS Philadelphia.

During the Democratic primaries earlier this year, voters who cast early ballots for Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar in Super Tuesday states found out the hard way that early voting can be dangerous. Both candidates dropped out before Super Tuesday, and voters who cast ballots for them couldn’t do anything about it. They couldn’t revote. The only state that allowed voters to change their ballots was Minnesota, but the deadline had already passed.
Scenarios like this should have been the nail in the coffin for early voting. But the pandemic raised concerns about in-person voting for many and has caused a huge surge

The Rays eked out a dramatic 8-7 walk-off win over the Dodgers in Game 4 of the World Series on Saturday night to tie the best-of-seven Fall Classic at 2-2 (box score). Reserve outfielder Brett Phillips notched a game-tying single in the ninth off Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen, and Randy Arozarena was also able to score on an error by center fielder Chris Taylor and then a mishandled throw by L.A. catcher Will Smith.
It had already been a wild game before one of the wildest culminations to a World Series game in living memory came along. Here's a look at the final play:

Whatever political momentum Joe Biden might have had going into the final debate, President Trump drank it right up on live TV. By the time it was over, Old Joe looked drained and confused, and the prez stood smiling like a kid slurping up every last drop of dessert before ordering seconds.
Biden must have been thinking, "How did I get here?" Or rather, "How is it that this guy is still kicking my butt? I've got all the news corporations working on my behalf. Facebook and Twitter are actively censoring information that makes me look bad. The DOJ is still covering up the Russia hoax.

Some people who have seen the hastily hatched post-COVID voter rules in Democrat states know there are some serious ballot shenanigans going on this election. Now, Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden has wittingly – or unwittingly – confirmed it. You just never know with Joe.
Was he misspeaking or just opening his mouth and removing the filter between his brain and mouth? Was it a Joe Bidenesque Freudian slip sniff?
Biden was holding a rare campaign event – via video – when he boastfully proclaimed that his campaign operates “the most extensive and inclusive voter fraud organization in the history of American politics.”

CNN’s Jake Tapper is the epidemy of modern journalism; partisan, incurious, grossly opinionated, and dedicated to his cause.
Tapper was involved in a panel discussion with political commentator Bakari Sellers and made some startling statements about the Hunter Biden story that show what’s terribly wrong with journalists and CNN. (Snip) As an aside, Tapper and CNN didn’t consider it “too disgusting” to report on every salacious rumor about Donald Trump before and after the 2016 campaign. I wonder what changed? Did they suddenly get religion and decide reporting on Hunter Biden’s immorality was too “disgusting” to cover?

The pressure is building for NBC News’ Kristen Welker to address the ongoing scandal surrounding a laptop purportedly belonging to Hunter Biden and containing damning emails, texts and photos during Thursday night’s final presidential debate as the mainstream media has essentially dismissed the story.
"This is a moment of truth for Kristen Welker and NBC News, in which they are caught between doing their job or protecting Joe Biden,” Cornell Law School professor and media critic William Jacobson told Fox News. The laptop, which was first brought to light in reports by the New York Post, contains emails suggesting Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden had knowledge of, and was

The destructive California wildfires are a reminder of Francis Bacon’s observation that “nature to be commanded must first be obeyed.” When political environmentalism tries to impose its will on nature, it will make you pay. (Snip) The costs required to keep the forests from ever burning are potentially huge. “Year after year, environmentalists litigated and lobbied to stop efforts to clear the forests through timber harvesting, underbrush removal, and controlled burns. … What happened among California’s tall stands of Redwood and Ponderosa Pine also happened in its extensive chaparral. Fire suppression along with too many environmentalist-inspired bureaucratic barriers to controlled

In my 2019 book, The Social Media Upheaval, I warned that the Big Tech companies — especially social media giants like Facebook and Twitter — had grown into powerful monopolists, who were using their power over the national conversation to not only sell ads, but also to promote a political agenda. That was pretty obvious last year, but it was even more obvious last week, when Facebook and Twitter tried to black out the New York Post’s blockbuster report about emails found on a laptop abandoned by Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s son Hunter.

Is the average American voter really thinking about all the ways to get back at voters who voted for President Trump? [Tweets] Well, it's what certain influential Democrats want, full blown show-trials and purges, same as the communists pioneered. Seems that equality and redistribution, don't really motivate them in the promises of socialism -- purges, show trials, Gulags and re-education camps are what get them going.
And it makes sense. Socialism has failed everywhere it's ever been tried, every time, every place, every place it's ever been practiced, people are poorer,

Years ago, a young man told me that his generation doesn't care about Rush Limbaugh or Rachel Maddow. Instead, they get their cultural and political information from podcasts and videos. And in the world of podcasts and videos, one of the biggest political stars is 36-year-old Ben Shapiro — who refused to vote for Trump in 2016. This time around, Shapiro has given Trump an enthusiastic thumbs-up, both because of Trump's proven history of conservative governance and because the Democrats have become insane.
In a statement that lasted less than nine minutes, Shapiro opened by succinctly stating the three reasons why he supports President Trump in 2020:
