Sen. Kamala Harris (D.-Calif.) said in a campaign appearance in Asheville, N.C., on Wednesday that she will oppose the confirmation of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the U.S. Supreme Court because among other things “the right of women to make decisions about their own body.” (Video) “They are trying to push through a Supreme Court nominee in what I call an illegitimate process,” said Harris, “because, by the way, we’re not talking about election season, we’re not talking about election year, we’re talking about an election that is taking place right now, where over 20 million Americans have voted and the election will be over in 13 days.

I guess Harris does not respect RBG who said that a President and other elected officials are elected for their full term.

Actually, in the confirmation process of any Supreme Court judge, we are talking about the constitutional responsibilities of those were elected for their terms of office, And an election that takes place in December (electoral college). And for half of the population, there is that pesty child waiting for birth that has rights on par with the mothers.

But your body made the decision to fertilize that egg when you made the decision to have unprotected sex with a man you have no intention of having children with. Your argument is with nature. And you lost that argument.

This has always been a twisted narrative that was created by the left decades ago. It’s not just your own body we are talking about. It’s about taking the life of the most innocent among us. But OMG Trump put children in cages! ( that Obama built)

Ya know, left leaning people always remind the populace that they are brilliant, educated, savvy, erudite, have their teeth and no abrasions on their knuckles from dragging on the ground. University educated, multiple degrees, so, how is it they get pregnant (whoops), biology 101. Sorry the embryo BODY trumps(haha) the wanton nymph who worships her body!! Sperm depositors move on1 NICE.

Women have a choice - they can take a pill or say NO. They don't have to create a person they then claim it's their "right" to murder.
I think the whole thing is Planned Parenthood only matters to rats because they forced taxpayers to fund PP and then PP turns around and funds rats. Not that different from the Bidens ...it's just a rat tradition but in the case of PP it involves the murder of innocents and enables irresponsible, selfish and immoral behavior - something the rats are ok with as long as it's $ in their pockets.

Why is control over a woman's body only after they decided to have sex and got pregnant? What about just saying no. Good lord, I heard no so many times when I was younger, I just assumed I was going to die a virgin.

#4 is correct. Once you conceive, that child is a living being and it's no longer "your body" anymore. If you abort, you are killing another human being, a living, separate soul. Your 'choice' if you abort, is murder.

OK Heels Up, pass a law that says that. What? You can't? Why not? Because the American People disagree with you, don't want such a law, and won't elect Congress reps who will vote for it? Too bad, so sad. Maybe if you don't represent and respect the American People's views, you have no business being VP.
As to an illegitimate process, Trump is President and has proposed a justice for an open position on the SCOTUS. The Senate has held hearings and voted the nominee out of committee. Now the Senate as a whole will vote. All this is regular process. In fact if Trump is defeated and the Senate goes to the dems, and Trump appointed another justice to fill another open SCOTUS position before the end of the current Senate's term, it would STILL be regular process, no matter how the dems whine about it. Elected officials have power in their position until the end of their term and that is the way t works.

In ancient times the pagans sacrificed their babies to their brass god, Moloch. They built a roaring fire inside the belly and when the idol’s extended hands were very hot they placed the screaming baby in the hands to be burned alive. They beat drums very loudly to drown out the cries of the babies.
Abortion is the god of convenience to many who kill the baby in the mother’s womb by injecting a solution to administer a different kind of burning death, among other ways such as partially delivering it and doing things to murder the baby that are no more civilized than the worshipers of Moloch, and much less honest.
May God forgive us, if we repent and turn to Him.

It's decision which kills a baby that we object to. The woman's body isn't really harmed (well, at least it is supposed to be doing it, since I don't have the plumbing, maybe I'm off) but the baby's body is destroyed.
That's the issue.
Give up the baby for adoption or use your brain and use one of a dozen kinds of birth control.

The 'baby' is not the woman's own body. It is a unique and different person. The right of the woman to make choices ended when that life was created. The woman making a life or death choice for her child is akin to slavery where the slave owner could make a life or death decision for the slave. We ended that sort of thing in 1865 didn't we?

This mantra from the left is getting tiresome, every election they bring it out. Lady you can do anything you want with your body, pierce, tattoo whatever. Just shut up. Judge Barrett will not stop you from doing whatever you want, including killing your own flesh and blood, it is disgusting that you think that is okay to do but people will remind you it is a human being. Now go look for Willie Brown and give him an lewinsky.

Oh, can the "her own body" crap, Kam. When you should have been learning about the pitfalls of campaigning on fallacy, you must have thought they said 'fellatio' and offered to teach the class. I was going to say ya suck; but that was how you got into this business in the first place, so you probably wouldn't consider it particularly insulting.

No one is talking about women and their bodies. Women can do whatever they want with their own bodies. It is the body of innocent babies we are talking about. Why do these women never speak about the babies that they are murdering, as though they weren't really human or have a separate body of their own?

say, mattress kammy, the issue is not what a woman does with/to her body, it's what a woman does with a living human being, growing inside her, which happens to be a very sacred act performed by any woman. guess you haven't looked at too many baby pictures in your lifetime.

Our bodies are not our own—they belong to God. A baby’s body belongs to God. One of the Ten Commandments is, “Thou shalt not murder.” Abortion is willfully murdering a baby—a baby that belongs to God.

I seem to recall a Supreme Court decision concerning Hobby Lobby NOT being forced to pay for abortions because of all the other means of preventing pregnancy that they would pay for---
The woman certainly could choose those options without the taxpayer having to pay for it and taking a life.
