How Trump Should Approach
the Final Debate

The so-called mainstream polls of the swing states show the race narrowing. If the trend continues at the current rate, President Trump could poll even in two weeks—in addition to the “other” polls that show him near there already.
So Trump’s mission at the final debate on Thursday is to continue to accelerate his momentum, not to take risks to melt down Joe Biden with verbal fireworks.
Every 10 days, the campaign starts anew. Trump’s rallies are back. He miraculously beat COVID-19 in near record time. Judge Amy Coney Barret proved stellar.

VDH is pretty spot on.
And so is that lady from the NBC Town Hall/Savannah Guthrie debate. Smile more.
But I'm not sure any advice beyond "Let Trump Be Trump" is gonna work.

VDH offers good advice. Trump is a smart person and knows how to win. He is not dealing with his base of supporters, he already has them. He is not dealing with the hard-core left, they are firm about being democrats. Trump must deal with the independents / undecideds, and maintain a presidential posture in doing so. He has accomplished so much, and needs to point that out.

Add: coming after our firearms, sanctuary cities, charter schools, defunding the police, law and order, and bringing businesses back from China.

Trump should go in as the calm teacher, and treat the moderator and Biden like students.

The best advise is completely ignore the question and do two minutes on whatever subject you want. "That's a great question, Greta. But I'd really like to talk to the American people about . . . [2 minutes] . . . and that's why I need your vote."

Donald Trump will be Donald Trump. Period.
If Donald Trump had followed all the well-meaning advice of the political talking heads out there, he never would have been president.
So, while I am sure VDH means well, this is "crunch time". And President Trump wins or loses by being Donald Trump!!!

I love all the wonderfully wise counselors who constantly advise Trump to not be Trump.
He got here by being Trump. He called the liars liars, and has been proven right again and again.
He said he would do this, that, and the other, and he did it.
We have already lived through the time where a Republican was the guy at the cocktail party apologizing for not being a Democrat.
In the famous words from the best movie of the 20th century, "Oh blow it out your ass, Howard!"
I am proud to be an American, I am proud to be a Republican, and I am proud to support Trump. I am not one of the liars, chiselers, screamers, libelers, or the corrupt compromisers who enable them.
Go sit in the corner with your wine and cheese and let the real patriots support and restore the Constitution and the government of free men and women.

Rush mentioned VDH’s article and was in agreement. Honestly, are there actually those that haven’t made up their mind about Trump vs Biden? My humble opinion (certifiable news junkie) red wave for the Pubbies. Why you ask, jobs not mobs!

Agree the President needs to have short, concise answers, and not ramble, or get into the weeds.
I'm sure Joe will ask him about a peaceful transition, which Trump can laugh a little, and declare he's planning on leaving in January 2024 after continuing to work day and night, for free, for the American people not these entrenched elites. Say how much he loves this country, and how he will ensure the American people will get to the bottom of the baseless attacks on him the last 4 years that no one would testify under oath that he had anything to do with Russian collusion. (again, don't get into the weeds, just broad brush).
Be ready with the nursing home death totals from NY, NJ, PA alone, but be short, and concise.
The last paragraph from VDH is terrific too.

He should approcajh it through the nearest OUT exit, hop in his limo and go enjoy a nice cheeseburger.
I'm wondering if GOPs have any limit to the degradation they will allow themselves to be subjected?
If they had to sit in their own poop for a week before the debate, would they raise an objection?

I wonder if Rush could pick up tgge phone and ask the President to read VDH's essay and consider using at least some of it?
I get that "Trump needs to be Trump", but this is his last good chance to convince some of the folks who like his policies but are (IMO, bizzarrely) extremely upset by 'not being Presidential'.

I'm hoping that throughout the debate, the President refers to Biden as "The Big Guy."

Trump is a man of passion and principles! We like him like that! Go after Joe Biden with both barrels! If Joe objects, say “you can’t handle my tough questions but you want to negotiate for America in front of Dictators, Communists at the United Nations?” Sorry Joe, but either toughen up and stop being a fop behind some liberal skirt like she is your mommy! Get Joe to tell POTUS to “shut up” again! That was priceless!
