A massive brawl broke out between up to 20 family members during a funeral for an elderly woman in Richmond on Aug. 6, leading to one injury, one arrest and $20,000 in damage, officials said. The Richmond Police Department said it responded to the Rolling Hills Memorial Park at 1:30 p.m. after several reports of a "chaotic altercation" between eight to 20 family members who were reportedly armed. Sgt. Aaron Pomeroy said it was an instance of family drama that started between a brother and a sister who were attending their mother's funeral and who do not get along — and "it goes back many years."

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Catie Grusin didn’t know Eliza Fletcher, but she woke up at 3:20 a.m. and put on a pink top before attending a vigil and running event honoring the slain kindergarten teacher who was kidnapped during a pre-dawn jog in Memphis, Tennessee.

Shares of Smith & Wesson Brands Inc. were down Friday morning after the company said demand for its guns returned to pre-pandemic levels.
The firearms maker on Thursday had reported net sales to $84.4 million for its fiscal first quarter, a decrease of 69% from the same time last year. Smith & Wesson Chief Executive Officer Mark Smith blamed the "challenging" quarter on the return to normal demand levels and the company needing to correct inventory levels. "The industry experienced our first normal summer slowdown in three years," Smith said in a press release. Additionally, he said manufacturer orders were "artificially depressed" as the company's partners sold through existing inventories.

When news of Queen Elizabeth's passing came, British leaders, world leaders, former world leaders, academics, business leaders and even rock stars, poured forth their condolences.
Some were better than others, many were gracious and heartfelt, a few were downright vile, and most did the best they could.

Michigan Court of Claims Judge Elizabeth Gleicher ruled the state’s 1931 law that bans abortion, triggered by the U.S. Supreme Court overturning the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, is unconstitutional.
Gleicher said the law violates the Michigan Constitution’s Due Process and Equal Protection Clauses.
“Despite that men play [a] necessary role in the procreative process, the law deprives only women of their ability to thrive as contributing participants in [the] world outside the home and as parents of wanted children," Gleicher wrote.
Student loan borrowers across the country could soon see up to $20,000 of their student loan debt forgiven in the massive handout announced by President Biden – but it still may come at a cost.

A Tennessee university has been slammed for putting on a campus drag show that mocked Christianity as little kids gave money to performers.
