What the . . . ? This is funny, or in any sense of the word entertaining? Makes me glad I dropped National Review a few years back.

If you are familiar with Rob Long from the Ricochet website or have seen him on TV, he comes across as a sort-of conservative old softy who really doesn't contribute much to the discussion IMO. Don't waste your time with this...whatever it is.

Businesses have been facing difficulties filling positions in the hospitality industry since COVID-19 restrictions have loosened, and strip clubs are no exception. At least one gentleman’s club in New Orleans is offering signing bonuses to new and returning entertainers to combat what they call a “national exotic dancer shortage.” “We look forward to reverting back to a seven-day per week operation, just as we were prior to COVID,” said Ann Kesler, General Manager of Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club New Orleans. “In order to do so, we need to ensure that we have an ample number of entertainers to sustain our guests, which is why we are implementing a signing incentive

California gubernatorial candidate Caitlyn Jenner sat down with Fox News' Sean Hannity on her bid to unseat Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom in the upcoming recall. Jenner told Hannity on Wednesday how she's always been a "fighter" and will take that spirit to the Golden State capital. "I want to take that same fight, that same spirit, go to Sacramento, surround myself with some of the smartest people out there," Jenner explained. "I am an outsider. I understand that- smartest people out there because now I'm in a race for solutions. I need to find solutions to be able to turn this state around.

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) made headlines when she announced that she was considering a presidential run in 2024. After she told the New York Post that she was “not ruling anything in or out” after being asked about her presidential aspirations, she elicited a reaction that reverberated through Washington. Thousands of Republican voters were reportedly hospitalized due to uncontrollable laughing fits. Their current status remains unknown. The lawmaker became a more prominent political figure when she sought the favor of the left by joining the chorus of individuals pretending former President Donald Trump incited the Jan. 6 riots at the U.S. Capitol building.

Last week, former President George W. Bush said he's not worried about the current moment in American politics because "these populist movements begin to fritter over time." I don't know Bush well personally, but I served in his administration for eight years. As a senior staffer to Vice President Dick Cheney, I was in numerous meetings with Bush each week. While I did not agree with the president on every policy issue, I did leave my service with a feeling that, agree with him or not, Bush is a good person who cares a lot about our country.

There’s a lot of room between sitting on your hands doing nothing and setting everything on fire. Things that used to get done used to get done in that space, and not much outside it. Outside it is apathy or insanity, which are not places you want to live. But life has gone from having a dimmer switch to two settings – off and blowing circuits. It’s fun to watch, I guess, but it’s not particularly helpful if you want to get things done. And I, for one, would like to get things done.

Euthanasia/Assisted Suicide: How It Starts: It’s just a safety valve, a tiny change in medical ethics and the law. Protective guidelines will protect against abuse! Where It Is Now: There are too many obstacles to death! We have to make it easier to die! Where It’s Going: Death on demand for any reason (already the law in Germany). Some jurisdictions are moving along this trajectory quickly and some more slowly. But over time, that is the way the current flows. Canada is speed runner in this regard. After its supreme court imposed a positive right to euthanasia in 2015, the country cheered and embraced “medical assistance in dying” (MAID) with an enthusiasm

It’s weird that our elite betters of eliteness and betterness refuse to acknowledge that the emperor not only forgot to dress himself today but that he’s actively drooling. Check out President Asterisk trying to figure out who the Secretary of Defense is. Not that SecDef is an important job anymore or anything. His gig now is mostly to rid the ranks of extremists who don’t think men can change into women through the power of activists demanding everyone else pretend they can.

It’s almost our favorite day of the year: the beginning of Daylight Savings Time, when we can fast-forward our clocks, stop the winter darkness that descends by mid-afternoon, and crawl out of our stuffy homes after dinner into the evening light. Amid Biden’s “dark winter” of COVID hell, the act of “springing forward” out of Standard Time is especially welcomed this year. That’s why a glorious piece of legislation popping up in the Senate is a bright spot this week — not only because it’s bipartisan, but also because it would literally grant daylight to weary Americans.

February 27, 2008, was, by recollection, a gloomy Wednesday in New York City, except . . . it was actually sunny. The terrible news shades the memory gray — Bill Buckley died that morning at his home in Stamford, Conn. He was 82 and had battled a number of persistent and complicating afflictions. They won out. But he went, as they say, with his boots on — in his study, writing, adding to the millions of words he had already shared with the world on topics from Bach and GPS systems to tax cuts and communism.

America Has Been Remarkable Moral Achievement

Given how flawed human nature is, America has been a remarkable moral achievement. This is the truism that separates the wise man from the fool. This is the truism that separates the left from the anti-left. Those who acknowledge how flawed human nature is compare America to reality. Those who do not, compare America to some utopian image: a country free of inequality, prejudices, intolerance, sexual misbehavior, greed, etc. This divide helps explain why those who hold a biblical worldview -- usually religious Jews and Christians -- are more likely to appreciate America than those who do not.

Political scientist Lynne Chandler García said the Constitution brought about 'inequality' and that George Washington was a racist. Garcia, who teaches Marxist theory at the USAF Academy in Colorado Springs, said she agreed with the Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Mark Milley who recently told Congress that Critical Race Theory 'is not unpatriotic.'
