North Carolina has played a key role in Democrats’ hopes to take control of the Senate this year. Republican Thom Tillis is considered an uninspiring figure, while the Democrats seemed to have found a strong challenger in veteran Cal Cunningham. But yesterday the news broke that Cunningham has been carrying on a torrid affair with a political consultant from California. Both Cunningham and the consultant, Arlene Guzman Todd, are married.
The affair became public when someone leaked a series of texts between Cunningham and Todd. Here they are; click to enlarge:

I'm with John Hinderaker on this one. Just think how you'll feel when your kids read this crap. Honestly. both of them should grow up.

What could be wrong? Both are upholding Democrat moral values?

11 years younger than Cunningham, but galloping toward 40, she is hawt to trot. To prove something. Well, OK, Arlene….you sure did. He’s a fool and you are trash.

By democrat standards, that qualifies Cunningham to be President.

One of these days, Democrats may realize that all of the politically motivated leaks, along with unsubstantiated and anonymous sources material they have perfected, colluding with the liberal press to release, eventually will be adopted by the GOP to fight politically on a level playing field!
What is it with North Carolina and Democrats? Didn't Cunningham learn anything from former Senator John Edwards?

Let's hope that the Republicans have a good ad on this.
How about an actor and an actress, clearly practicing, reading from scripts....and after reading their parts saying something like, "Really? I'm not sure I can even read this foolishness to make an ad. Do the people of North Carolina know what kind of a man Cal Cunninham really is?"
Fade to black.
Probably some real advertising expert could come up with a better one, but that idea might convince a bunch of normal folks to ditch this Dem.

Very hard to read much of the texts. Hopefully they will get a bigger, bolder play. Most voters are immune to cheating spouses by now, but if their texts are made prominent and make them look ridiculous, that's a plus, especially if it involves deceiving the family in order to arrange a roll in the hay. Remember Mark Sanford?

It's amazing how many times this old story gets repeated in every election.
Talk about lack of self control.

There are some women who are turned on by power, others who have ulterior motives.
I remember this good looking Russian woman who was entertaining us in a restaurant in Russian one night on a business trip.
I managed the good sense to say no. I'm happily married, and not going to do that stuff. And a pretty good chance that there was skullduggery going on, too, it wasn't my "youthful good looks", that's for certain. 😀

They write like love struck high school freshmen, at least like the high school freshmen I remember from 1958. I can't imagine how today's high school freshman sound. I have 2 grand-daughters that are freshmen this year, and it's scary.

It seems like every year there's an October surprise.
Usually, it's the DemoniKKKRats doing it to the Republicans
At least in this case, it seems to be a reverse October Surprise.
I'm just surprised I'm the first to mention it.

Not a problem. Democrats applaud illicit sex. Or any act approximating illicit sex.

One GOP seat is at stake, and the Democrat challenger might have just bleeped his way to a loss. Good news.
