Democrat Joe Biden and his wife earned almost a million dollars -- $985,233 in adjusted gross income -- in 2019 alone, but never mind that. He's portraying himself as working-class Joe on the stump, making a rich vs. poor pitch. At an old-fashioned whistle-stop in Pittsburgh on Wednesday, Biden said: (Video) Unlike, Trump, I don't measure America's success based on the stock market. Because growing up, I didn't know anybody who was a--I don't own any stock. I guess I have stock based on my retirement, and I don't even know what it is. But I don't own any stock. The people I grew up with didn't own any stock.

Why worry about stocks when you have access to many other sources of income outside the normal/traditional methods?
For that matter, I doubt that Al Capone invested in the stock market either.

Well Lunchbox Joe, the many of us who do own stock (and not just the top 1%) prefer a president who understands the stock market or for that matter basic economics.

Joe does not own the stock which he owns. It is owned by him - - but it's not part of his own ownership.
So just back off!

"I don't have stocks. I have a fact government pension for the rest of my life, the best government paid healthcare (for free) for life, and managed to become rich while working in government for over 47 years so I have no idea what you common folk are dealing with" is what Joe Biden should really be saying! Biden tries to act like he is Mr. Blue Collar, yet he has never worked a real job in his life. He claims he "grew up" in Scranton, PA, yet actually moved away from there when he was 10 when he left. Joe has not had to make any of the choices in the scenarios that he famously describes in his campaign stops. He sounds very dramatic and empathetic, but he is really just delivering focus group tested lines that appeal to his target audience.

In that case it should be easy to trace all the foreign money that he got and keeps getting. His bank accounts are bulging. Perhaps he keeps it all under the bed??? He does not own stock? Right! You also never cheated, lied or any other way were a crook!

#8, very well said.
It's easy to not worry when you're guaranteed pension and medical.
In fact, if Joe and the Democrats really want Medicare for All, they should start with Congress and their family members.
They could start that next year, in fact. No need to wait. Be the trailblazers, show everyone how wonderful it really will be.
Come on, man!

Well this is a losing arguement. The American people care about the stock market, period!!
Roughly half of all American households have access to employer sponsored 401k plans. Many others have similar investments either through employers or independantly. Almost all have some vested interest in... THE STOCK MARKET as a key part of their retirement future.
Joe is an idiot!

Biden didn't get rich by intelligently investing his political lucre. Grifters don't invest; they amass. And since they aren't capable of good investments, they take more and more from their political connections overseas. Others above are so right about Biden's utter economic illiteracy. He doesn't grok how money grows. No wonder he's for intensified taxing of investors. Without investors, America wouldn't be America. If American voters don't prevail next month, look out below.

Another fraudulent statement. Joe has a pension plan that invests in stocks. Almost nobody invested in stocks until the internet and discount brokerage made that possible. Those technology improvements made the stock market available to everyone, beginning in 1990. Biden is an idiot. The man has an IQ under 40.

when Jo biden was growing up - I understand it was in scranton - 401k, 403b, IRA retirement accounts did not exist. and it was the wealthy who invested in the stock market. His statement is just about like saying that when he was growing up, he knew no one who flew by commercial jet.
I do wish someone would ask him what his relatively poor father gave Jo as a wedding present, when Jo married Nellie the draft deferment.
the answer is a brand new 1967 corvette. Where did the father get it? From his own dealership in Delaware.
Tell us again, Jo, how poor your struggling family was.

Who needs stock, Joe, when your brother's company collects half a BILLION dollars from Iraq to "build houses" while you were Vice President? And your brother joined said company only 2 months before the big payout. And he has NO building experience. How convenient. And that's just one pay for play...check out the China connection.
Ukraine & China Hunter is a piker compared to your brother and sister...all while you leveraged your office as a Senator and VP.

He doesn't need to own stocks. He has the companies and governments just GIVE him and his family literally millions and billions. Why fool around with making a 6 or 10% rate of return, taking decades to build your wealth the honest way when you can get huge quantities of money just handed to your family?
Joe is evil, corrupt to the bone, and his worthless son is even more corrupt than he is.

lies, lies, lies and more lies. Josef Goebbels said it exactly talking about repeating a lie over and over. billy clinton made that practice his model for governing. the definition of "is" for example.

This is like his sob story about his father unable to sleep due to losing the family's health insurance. This would have been in the 1950's as he describes himself as being a boy. He graduated from high school about 1960. I don't think employer's offered much of a family insurance benefit package in the 50's. Biden's father was a used car salesman. I don't think used car dealers offered much in benefits at all. He just lies all the time...lies or he lives in a fantasy world.

Why own stock. That stuff gets tagged with your SS# and gets tracked for dividends and capital gains and changes in ownership.
I mean, if you can get a $3 million payday from a Russian mobster wife with no strings.... why own stock?
