South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham reversed earlier statements on Saturday and said he will support “any effort” by President Trump to seat another Supreme Court justice.
The support came as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told his GOP caucus to “keep your powder dry” in regard to filling the seat left vacant by Justice Ruth Bader GInsburg’s death on Friday.
Separately, Maine Sen. Susan Collins said, “The decision should be made by the president who is elected on November 3rd.”
In a series of tweets, Graham, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said, “The two biggest changes regarding the Senate and judicial confirmations

Lindsey Graham is a walking Waffle House. You never know whether he means what he says, but he supports Trump more than not. In this he is an improvement over Mitt Romney, who never means what he says and opposes Trump at every opportunity.
I hope Graham wins. We need the seat.

Lindsey knows the score. He wants to get re-elected and has reversed his position on this. As much as I do not like his waffling, I believe when the President wins re-election that he will support him. I may be naive, but Lindsey likes being a Senator and will likely support the President if he is re-elected. He knows that to do otherwise would be political suicide. Plus, we need the seat. He will want to be on the winning team and will most likely get in line with the Trump agenda.

Thank goodness it's an election year or Miss LIndsay would be sticking that knife in our back. His partner from Maine is in the same boat. They're both toast if they don't support the president.

Graham is such a worthless lying pile of garbage, but I have to admit he has a McCain-like knack for getting his name in the headlines for no apparent reason other than to contradict the previous headline. This can go on for years, as and his fellow Washington cesspool surfers have demonstrated.

If Lindsey obstructs the President at this crucial juncture, he is the dog's breakfast in S. Carolina. he knows it. The ladies Collins and Murkowski will also come around. And so will Willard. Final count will be 54/46.

I live in SC and I can tell you that Graham WILL be re-elected. I voted against him in the primary because of his inconsistencies. Plus, there was a more conservative candidate on the ballot - Duke Buckner. However, the incumbent usually wins. Yes, he wants to keep his job but I think it’s more than that. Remember his actions during the Kavanaugh lynching? He nuked the demonrats and I doubt that he has forgotten what they tried to do.

I swear. Lindsey has to check which way the wind is blowing and ascertain what all his friends think——then! he can make a decision.

President Trump will get his nominee seated on the Supreme Court, hopefully before November 3, but if not, after the election. He's going to be re-elected with more votes than 2016 and with more electoral votes. Blacks and Hispanics are going to vote for him in far greater numbers than is 2016. The Democrats' attempts at voter fraud are going to be nullified (overwhelmed) by Republican turnout. Polls that assert that Biden is ahead are false suppression polls. Remember that in 2016 all polls predicted that President Trump would not defeat Hilary Clinton. The pollsters are devious and are again attempting to hoodwink the public. It won't work. President Trump's rallies are attended by thousands of enthusiastic supporters. When Biden give his campaign 7 to 12 minute talks he draws, at most, a few dozen supporters. The mainstream media ignores these contrasts on the false assumption that the public somehow does not notice. WE NOTICE!

I think Graham, Collins and Murkowski (and yes, even Mitt) will vote yes on any Nominee Trump brings to the Senate. They ALL know it would be political Suicide not to put a Conservative on the Court. The American people know what the Democrats have planned for us if they should come close to winning this election. It will be mayhem! It will be Riots and Looting and Burning all over this country. Trump will have to call out the Guard or even the Military. There will be Fraud in the Ballots and in the end, it will be up to the Supreme Court to call who wins this Election! We need to have a Majority we can count on (we all know we can't count on John Roberts) to call a fair Election. We need a Majority to stop Ballots from being counted weeks after the Election and to deny any Absentee Ballots that are not signed or the Signature doesn't match. We need to have a deadline for Ballots arriving and being counted. It's going to be a nightmare election. We need a Majority in the Supreme Court. It's that simple!

Ms Linzie is like a Self-Energized Fried Egg. When he thinks he's done on One Side, he Flips himself over to the Other Side.......
BTW: "Sen McStain". I love it.
Both before and after Vietnam, he chased every Skirt that walked into the Officer's Club whether Married or Otherwise Attached. More than a few Junior Officers were threatened with Courts Martial after threatening Cmd McStain with Physical Harm after he ran his hand over a Wife's/Fiancee's fanny or brushed across her breast while reaching for a drink.
Manny published accounts before/after Vietnam. The guy was a First Class Dirt Bag!

I'm no Lindsey fan and I've never voted for him, but in all fairness, I'm not surprised at this from Graham, and I agree with poster 7 about him getting reelected. He's running against a black man named Jaime, and Jaime's pretending to be conservative like the guy who won the Congressional seat the last election (forget his name even though every other commercial is about him, Cunningham, I think), but it won't work. We do have a lot of leftists who have moved here, though. Anyway, the situation was altogether different with obama who couldn't be elected again (thank God!). It was fitting that he not appoint a justice on his way out, and he was (probably still is) an illegal alien to boot. Prove me wrong! Oh, Susan Collins is wrong, as usual.

I glad that Sen. Lindsey Graham woke up to the reality that an 8 member Supreme Court could split 4-to-4, causing an appeal to fail. With a 5-to-3 split or better to pass, this would allow the activists on the Court to prevent any vote tampering case to succeed. The repeated recounts ordered by the Florida Supreme Court (at the request of Democrats) in the Bush-Gore race shows that state courts cannot be relied upon to be fair in their rulings.

The only reason Obama didn’t ram through his nominee in 2016 is because he didn’t have the power. If Democrats owned the senate then, he would have. Elections have consequences. Right OB

The "people" have already spoken --- back in November of 2016! We didn't elect a President to hold office for 3 years and 6 months and 21 days. No ... it's a full four year term. From January 20, 2017 until January 20, 2021. John Adams appointed judges up until the weekend he left office and handed the reins over to Thomas Jefferson!
We re-affirmed our support for a 4 year President by electing a majority in the Senate. Now do your damn job!

Most folks outside of Grahamnesty's district might not be aware of it, but he has a fairly serious challenger to the seat he holds this year. The guy ticks a lot of boxes for voters, and Graham just might be realizing that this is his last and best chance to save his political bacon.

Senator Graham - as Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, this confirmation hearing will be your opportunity to shine. The same goes for your committee colleagues. McConnell is going to set the table for you. You and your colleagues must do the rest. Between now and the date the Senate confirms the President's SCOTUS nominee, you will have the podium. Speak wisely and forcefully at all times. Get into the dims' head, yet lead at the same time. The dims must be beaten every inch of the way. Make it so. Chuckie and his clones will raise a big ruckus to be sure, but, will be successful in making fools out of themselves just like they always do.

Senators owe their majority to Donaldus Magnus who worked tirelessly in targeted rallies in 2018. The RNC and Paul Ryan let the House go to the Socialists. Trump made a wise choice because 3 young justices will prevent the decline of Western Civilization for decades. All Republican senators will vote yes.

Six US Senators could abstain and we would still get this done. It's not impossible to get some Democrats who really LIKE being US Senators. They won't lose ground over a Quixotic adventure. Virtue Signaling is all they do, and all they are doing to their Leftist base.
