Gov Inslee refuses in-person debate

Incumbent Governor Jay Inslee refuses to debate Republican challenger Loren Culp in-person, a source with the Washington State Debate Coalition tells the Jason Rantz Show on KTTH. Instead, Inslee’s team is angling for a digital debate over Zoom, where he can participate from his home. This despite assurances that an in-person debate would practice social distancing and other coronavirus best-practices recommended by Inslee’s own administration. (snip) the insistence that both participants wear a mask during the debate isn’t just odd. It breaks with what Inslee himself practices.

Comments:

Gov. Jay is afraid to face his challenger. Hides behind his mask.

Loren Culp should stand at a podium with an empty podium and a cardboard cutout of inslee behind it.. and behind THAT a continuous video showing the burning of Seattle she could then debate his worthless platitudes..

The Democrats know they can have cheat sheets, and other devices around to help their candidate with the answers to any particular question. And, when they know the question ahead of time, like has happened before, they really know how to answer. There is no reason two candidates can't be on a stage, similar to how the news people are distanced and providing their TV program, and it all be safe for the two candidates. Just no audience, which seems to be fine nowadays.

Exactly, #4, Inslee and his Marxist/Democrat party have tons of resources for off camera coaching and no hesitation to cheat. And, this could be a practice run for the upcoming Biden "debate" with Trump. Creepy Joe will need all the in-the-ear, under-the-table, out-of-sight, and pre-recorded cheats he can get to create the illusion that his head contains anything other than cotton. I wouldn't be surprised if Biden's and Inslee's mouths never move under the masks and they use someone else's voice.

Okay. So Inslee wants to debate from his house. His Republican challenger should agree to hold the debates there. Same with Sleepy Joe. President Trump can stop by the house and do it in Joe's basement.

Apparently the wimpy dem pols prefer to depend on their peaceful anarchist mobs to force their socialist agenda? History proves the decades long dem policies dominating most of America's largest cities has resulted in civil discord, violence and destruction of lives & property in those places. The dems' leftist policies have failed but the dem pols still want the power over American lives and, since they can't debate the serious issues & the mess they have made of everything, they now rely on the mobs' brute force. This tact is evil.

Hackers have launched a sprawling, multifaceted cyber-attack against the state of Washington, according to two people familiar with the matter. The attack infested many of the state’s agencies with sophisticated malware, including one type known as Trickbot, according to the two people, who requested anonymity because they aren’t authorized to talk to the media. (snip) The cyber-attack didn’t impact the state’s election systems. Nonetheless, coming nearly a month ahead of November’s presidential election, it highlights the potential vulnerability of state computer networks, which include election systems. Tara Lee and Mike Faulk, both of whom are spokespersons for Governor Jay Inslee, didn’t respond to requests for comment.

Washington officials are asking the state’s largest manufacturer what it can do to keep the 787 jetliner production line from moving to South Carolina, Gov. Jay Inslee said Thursday. So far, the Boeing Co. hasn’t offered any suggestions, although it has told state officials no decision on such a move has been made, Inslee said during a news conference. The company has said it is looking at the data and will continue to talk. Boeing currently builds its 787 Dreamliner in Everett and Charleston, South Carolina, but Reuters reported earlier this week the company is considering closing the Everett line. Closing that production line in Everett could cost thousands of jobs.

This week the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Seattle announced its eighth arrest related to events during this summer’s protests against racism and police brutality. Defense attorneys say the Justice Department is going out of its way to try to discredit the protests. But U.S. Attorney Brian Moran said his Seattle office is focused on cases like arson or firearms violations that he says are hurting the protest message. That includes the big protest in Seattle the night of May 30. People took guns out of police vehicles and set the cars on fire, leading to three federal cases so far.

Seattle rioters used a substance suspected to be quick-dry concrete to seal shut the door to the East Precinct, the Seattle Police Department has confirmed. At the same time, the rioter attempted to set fire to the building. Photos reviewed by the Jason Rantz Show show the concrete mix and tools used. Now, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is working with the Seattle Police Department on this investigation. Rioters assaulted Seattle’s East Precinct on Monday night. This marked another night of violent, criminal activism against police officers unconnected to anger over a recent police shooting in Wisconsin.

Chris Wallace, the moderator of the first presidential debate Tuesday night, insists he will try to remain “as invisible as possible.” That would certainly be a welcome change from his performance in the final 2016 debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. A lot of Democrats no doubt assume Wallace will go too easy on the president simply because he hosts a talking-heads show for the “conservative” Fox News network. But Wallace is not an admirer of Trump. Nor is he above gotcha questions and phony “fact checks.” It was Wallace, you will probably recall, who pompously lectured Trump as follows during that last 2016 debate:

Is anyone really surprised that Donald Trump’s tax affairs are opaque? Or that he is not as rich as he claims? Is it really all that horrifying that he has for years claimed business losses in order to offset his significant income tax liability? Does it appall us that the Trump family used a Delaware-based consulting group to pay themselves? Of course not. The New York Times’s big Trump tax files splash on Sunday is therefore something of a flop. It is well-timed — an election is fast-approaching and the story might give Biden a good attack line in the big TV debate on Tuesday night.

The release of a joint report by the Senate committees on homeland security and finance raised important questions about obviously unethical foreign profiteering by members of the Biden family. In particular, former Vice President Joe Biden’s ne’er-do-well son Hunter received a remarkable amount of money from highly suspect foreign entities, including ones controlled by the Chinese government. On at least one occasion, the elder Biden appears to have directly facilitated his son’s tawdry dealings. On another, the current Democratic presidential nominee ignored an obvious appearance of a conflict of interest that compromised the moral authority of U.S. diplomacy.

The New York Times is undoubtedly pleased that it published more than two decades’ worth of Donald Trump’s tax returns. The self-congratulations are premature. The Times’ article reveals that Trump was telling the truth all along about his audit. We can also see that Obama’s policies benefitted rich people. Finally, because the policies show how our complicated progressive tax system will always benefit rich people with good accountants, the Times unwittingly advanced the argument for a flat tax.
