A Pandemic of Socialism

In mid-March of 2020, the United States of America became a socialist country, despite President Trump's promise in his State of the Union address one year prior. To those who lost their non-essential jobs, those who met empty shelves, those who discovered that their "free" education was too costly, those driven insane by incessant fear-mongering, and those faced with capricious and nonsensical restrictions — welcome to socialism. Deceived by the arrogance of science and appeal to authority, or perhaps with false science to mask nefarious motives, public health and safety were used as a contrivance to replace liberty, freedom, and democracy with the Game of Socialism

All decisions must now be approved by the government. The people control nothing. We have descended into hell.

Friday on the street, I was challenged by an 18 year old, "student", for not wearing a mask, as he was.

We don't need to complete our journey to socialism to see that no, we aren't getting it right this time and yes death and suffering on a mass scale will once again result.
Our little taste of death and collapse by centralizing the decision making regarding COVID is the tip of the iceberg, a harbinger of things to come. The death resulting from infusing the nursing homes with the infected likely added more deaths than what would have resulted from letting people decide for themselves how to react to truthful information. We would likely have had a majority of people turning to hydroxychloroquine and most certainly the power of the people would have stopped the silly notion of exposing our elderly and inform to the infection. And all without derailing the economy. But no, when a central power decides it knows better the wrong decision can wipe our millions.
The demand for government solutions to our problems is so strong in the US I have a hard time seeing any POTUS take a hands off approach. When we look to government to provide for us we invite disaster.

We will not submit!
I lived in the Socialist Republic of Romania when the Ceaucescus were running the show so I have first hand experience in a state run country. I repeat...
We will not submit!

#2-Next time say: "Okay, Karen" and walk away.
When we go out and about(Maryland), we see all the kids wearing masks-younger and teens. It surprises me that youngsters don't rebel against wearing of the mask as soon as they are out of eyesight of their parents. I won't wear the Wuhan Mask of Communist Repression™ when I am walking outside.

The government made the mistake of (for a short time) turning over crisis response to people who have only lived in the world of worst case catastrophic planning. It's easy to blame Trump, but the press and both parties had already started hanging on these no-real-world-experience planners when it took on a life of its own. It's going to take more than one strong-willed man to set us back on a course of common sense.
Democrat mayors and governors have pushed economy flattening agendas for the sake of politics and the media, looking to suck viewers into a never ending pandemic news fix, played along with glee. We're past the pandemic fatality stage, yet no one talks about this. Why not?
I saw an excellent article yesterday that included the single best comment I've seen about this whole issue:
"That having the news media focus narrowly and obsessively on the growth of “cases” when 99% of them are completely non-life-threatening was journalistic malpractice of the highest order".
Intentional or not, the entire response has been led by the nose by the 24x7 news cycle and the local news channels that the major networks feed.
Trump did what he had to do; he literally would have caused political mayhem (with no one on the republican leaderships supporting him) if he had flatly refused to go along with the CDC's fearmongering.
The big question now is will the republicans put their big-boy pants back on and restore reason?

Would beg leave for an entry into the Conservative Stylebook: whenever referring to Socialism, should always be proceeded by 'Degenerate' as in 'Degenerate Socialism'- the actual true term for it, the antithesis of the newspin 'Progressive Socialism'.

FTA: “Deceived by the arrogance of science and appeal to authority, or perhaps with false science to mask nefarious motives, public health and safety were used as a contrivance to replace liberty, freedom, and democracy with the Game of Socialism, in which (elected) tyrants play with our lives.”
This is the essence of what we have allowed to happen.

FTA: "America has always favored strong political leaders and rejected the weak. We need ballsy politicians to confront the socialist nonsense masquerading as health and safety. Elect Biden, who embraces health and safety, and the socialists pulling his strings will abuse the "Crisis Constitution" to give us COVID-19 every day."
Who is Mr. Ciani jivving? Who gave us Drs. Fauci and Birx front and center to help drive this into a frenzy? Hate to say, PDT was as caught up in this hysteria as any politician, and responded as one. His biggest mistake, which led to others, was to not stand firm in tamping the panic imported from Italy and France.
From the beginning one could see that these models were faulty, that the data fed them was bureaucratic BS, and that the predictions were outlandish...millions to die!! Our national and state leaders reacted, regardless of party, with such nonsense as border checks and myriad emergency orders. Only Wisconsin's Supreme Court held the line, shutting down the Evers plan, cutting off the GOP's alternative. And there was no spike, no epidemic of death.
The people watched as $10 TRILLION was appropriated by Congress to prop up an economy that would have been fine left to the responsible decisions of proprietors and customers. And from where did those TRILLIONS come? Certainly not the empty vault in the US Treasury. And a grateful nation took their share with glee. Even "conservatives" love that government cheese.

This author is an idiot.
Idiotic articles like this are what hold conservatives up to contempt by the general public.
