Stockholm -Far-right activists burned a Qur’an in the southern Swedish city of Malmo, sparking riots and unrest after more than 300 people gathered to protest, police said Saturday. Rioters set fires and threw objects at police and rescue services Friday night, slightly injuring several police officers and leading to the detention of about 15 people. /snip for Tweet/ The violence followed the burning Friday afternoon of a Qur’an, near a predominantly migrant neighbourhood, that was carried out by far-right activists and filmed and posted online, according to the TT news agency. Later, three people were arrested on suspicion of inciting hatred against an ethnic group

Former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton talked about how she is working to "erode" white privilege out of her children during a conversation with Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) about voting rights in America. The conversation was part of a "Women for Biden" online event.
"You know, congresswoman, certainly my children are young, but we believe they're young but still citizens so we talked about the ratification of the 19th Amendment and women's equality day but how fundamentally incomplete that victory was," Clinton said. According to the former first daughter, the 19th Amendment was a "flawed victory" because "indigenous and black women didn't have

This week, many college students and professors will begin classroom instruction for the first time since March. One Syracuse University professor, however, has already been asked to leave campus for his rhetoric regarding COVID-19 on a class syllabus. Distinguished Professor of Chemistry Dr. Jon Zubieta distributed a Chemistry 411 syllabus that referred to COVID-19 as the “Wuhan Flu” and the “Chinese Communist Party Virus.” Most syllabi now have a reference section dedicated to addressing social distancing, mask requirements, and other COVID-related issues in the classroom. Syracuse students immediately took to social media, labeling the professor as xenophobic and demanding that he be immediately disciplined.

Nearly five million Americans became first-time gun owners in 2020, according to a new report. The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the gun industry's trade group, estimates that 17.1 million guns have been sold between January and August with 4.84 million Americans purchasing their first guns. The sales—especially to new owners—represent a significant shift in American attitudes on gun ownership. "This is a tectonic shift in the firearm and ammunition industry marketplace and complete transformation of today’s gun-owning community," Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF senior vice president and general counsel, said in a statement.

Two Wisconsin police officers are on leave Monday as state authorities investigate why a Black man was shot multiple times in the back as he entered the driver's side door of an SUV, officials said. The man's three children -- 3, 5 and 8 -- were in the car, a family attorney said. Identified by Wisconsin's governor as Jacob Blake, the man is in serious condition and fighting for his life. Attorney Ben Crump, who now represents the Blake family, posted a video of the Sunday evening shooting in Kenosha. The footage spread across social media, sparking protests and leading county officials to institute a

Election Day is fast approaching and the country remains as polarized as ever. Political meaning has been grafted onto every decision we make in our daily lives. To have the wrong opinion is to commit an act of violence. Refusing to take sides is just as harmful, if not more so, than picking the bad side. There is still, however, at least one upcoming event that can unite our fractured nation and bring joy to the hearts of all Americans, regardless of political persuasion. On September 1, the Democratic Party will hold its Senate primary in the state of Massachusetts. The incumbent,

The Trump administration recently rescinded the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing rule, adopted in the early months of the Obama administration.
The rule was an add-on to the 1968 Fair Housing Act. The act was about preventing discrimination in the sale, rental or financing of housing.
However, like so much of the distortions that occurred after the civil rights era of the 1960s, this rule is not about preventing discrimination but about using civil rights language to advance a brazen left-wing political agenda.
The AFFH rule is war on the lifestyle of the single-family home and American suburban family life.

“Democrat. Republican. Trump. Biden. Sanders. Whatever. That will no longer be allowed in the plant.” New audio from a training session at a Goodyear plant in Topeka sheds more light on a conversation with employees about the company’s zero-tolerance policy. A photo leaked from the meeting had a list of what was acceptable and unacceptable at the workplace, but the new audio gives more context to that conversation. WIBW obtained that recording. The meeting references racial graffiti in the locker room. “Some people may wish to express their views on social justice or inequity or equity issues such as black

We can add “America’s Tire Company” to the long and growing list of virtue-signaling corporations that continue to prostrate themselves before the Black Lives Matter altar of pretend “systemic racism.” And for virtue-signaling extra credit, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has told its employees that terms like MAGA, Blue Lives Matter, and All Lives Matter are “unacceptable” in the workplace. As reported by WIBW 13 News in Topeka, Kansas, a Goodyear employee leaked a screenshot of a slide that was presented during a diversity training session showing what’s acceptable and what isn’t acceptable as part of the company’s new zero-tolerance policy. “Zero-tolerance.” Let’s talk about that for a moment.

The effects of coronavirus mandates on small businesses, and especially restaurants, have been catastrophic. New York, outside of New York City, went into “Phase 3” in July, and restaurants were able to open back up under severe restrictions, including reduced capacity. Very few of them are doing well under this arrangement. ABC reported that more than 16,000 restaurants have closed permanently. One diner in Seneca County, N.Y., has had enough and took to social media to tell the public what the county is doing to them. The trouble started when a snitch ate a meal at A.J.’s Family Diner and then called the health department to

The Tennessee Department of Education has withdrawn a $1 million initiative to conduct well-being checks for all children in Tennessee from birth to age 18 after the program sparked uproar this week, with critics calling it a big-brother government overreach.Gov. Bill Lee and Education Commissioner Dr. Penny Schwinn released the Child Wellbeing Check Toolkit during a news conference Tuesday. As originally published, the initiative recommended well-being checks for all children in the state to verify well-being as school closures have left gaps for nutrition, health, and abuse reporting services amid the coronavirus pandemic. Guidelines for the initiative were a collaborative effort of the 38-member

Early voting has just ended in Florida and election day is on Tuesday, August 18th, but that hasn’t stopped CBS12 in Palm Beach County, Florida from posting their election results in the 2020 primary election. President Donald Trump and Republicans have warned of voter fraud and voter suppression in the 2020 presidential election, so could CBS12 pre-election day, election results be a sampling of what is to come in the coming months? How can CBS12 be reporting the election results before election day? Or better yet, why is CBS12 reporting 100% precincts reporting 48 hours before the polls even open.
Comments:
The President needs to make this a campaign issue because it crosses all political divisions. Imagine Karen's suburban offspring having to stay inside because of new subsidized housing in the neighborhood. And it needs to be permanent: can't have AFFH reinstated in 2024.
