Left set to clamp down on life

The Trump administration recently rescinded the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing rule, adopted in the early months of the Obama administration. The rule was an add-on to the 1968 Fair Housing Act. The act was about preventing discrimination in the sale, rental or financing of housing. However, like so much of the distortions that occurred after the civil rights era of the 1960s, this rule is not about preventing discrimination but about using civil rights language to advance a brazen left-wing political agenda. The AFFH rule is war on the lifestyle of the single-family home and American suburban family life.

Comments:

The President needs to make this a campaign issue because it crosses all political divisions. Imagine Karen's suburban offspring having to stay inside because of new subsidized housing in the neighborhood. And it needs to be permanent: can't have AFFH reinstated in 2024.

Like China spreading the rona. It's the rural folks who are good with long guns and know the back roads who will become a real challenge to the urban yoots. Downtown is the canary in the coal mine. ....and the beautiful bird is DEAD.

They count on the have-nots’ votes. They promote class envy. They promote racial division for their own ends. The AFFH rule pretends to take care of all of this by invading the suburban space; limiting single-family home zoning; mandating dense, low-income housing; and financing it all with tax revenue from resident single-family home dwellers. It was the right move by the Trump administration to eliminate this inappropriate assault on the most basic American freedom to choose where and how one wants to live. Now Joe Biden says that, as president, he will restore this rule and restore it with even greater force. Biden’s new version restores all the onerous provisions and adds additional teeth by denying federal funds for roads as penalty for noncompliance. We can only marvel that there are those who think Washington should get involved in local zoning decisions, and that local demographics is the business of Washington.

#2 is right. I see this hitting hard the Dems who live in suburbia. “Don’t mess with my home” is not just a Republican idea… I am hoping Biden’s advisers’ draconian proposals do not sit well with the Dems and those who are called No Party Preference in California. This hardcore left control stuff is not something they want either.

My neighborhood use to be wonderful. Recently some California people have moved in. Zero lawn maintenance...and we and other neighbors have called the police at least 6 times for blaring the stereo at 3:00AM while totally wasted! And our police came and they turned the music down. The last guy must have scared them because there has been no repeat!!! Oh...and now we have a large rust bucket of a boat that doesn't run next the garage. Great! Oh well...

Look at what Denver is doing. There will be more flight from these cities as the 'woke' lunatics drive them farther down into the sewer. People want to be protected from the trash. Not have it move in across the street.

Former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton talked about how she is working to "erode" white privilege out of her children during a conversation with Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) about voting rights in America. The conversation was part of a "Women for Biden" online event. "You know, congresswoman, certainly my children are young, but we believe they're young but still citizens so we talked about the ratification of the 19th Amendment and women's equality day but how fundamentally incomplete that victory was," Clinton said. According to the former first daughter, the 19th Amendment was a "flawed victory" because "indigenous and black women didn't have

This week, many college students and professors will begin classroom instruction for the first time since March. One Syracuse University professor, however, has already been asked to leave campus for his rhetoric regarding COVID-19 on a class syllabus. Distinguished Professor of Chemistry Dr. Jon Zubieta distributed a Chemistry 411 syllabus that referred to COVID-19 as the “Wuhan Flu” and the “Chinese Communist Party Virus.” Most syllabi now have a reference section dedicated to addressing social distancing, mask requirements, and other COVID-related issues in the classroom. Syracuse students immediately took to social media, labeling the professor as xenophobic and demanding that he be immediately disciplined.

Nearly five million Americans became first-time gun owners in 2020, according to a new report. The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the gun industry's trade group, estimates that 17.1 million guns have been sold between January and August with 4.84 million Americans purchasing their first guns. The sales—especially to new owners—represent a significant shift in American attitudes on gun ownership. "This is a tectonic shift in the firearm and ammunition industry marketplace and complete transformation of today’s gun-owning community," Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF senior vice president and general counsel, said in a statement.

Election Day is fast approaching and the country remains as polarized as ever. Political meaning has been grafted onto every decision we make in our daily lives. To have the wrong opinion is to commit an act of violence. Refusing to take sides is just as harmful, if not more so, than picking the bad side. There is still, however, at least one upcoming event that can unite our fractured nation and bring joy to the hearts of all Americans, regardless of political persuasion. On September 1, the Democratic Party will hold its Senate primary in the state of Massachusetts. The incumbent,
