‘Giant Warning’: Iowa State University
Instructor Warns Anti-BLM, Pro-Life

An Iowa State University instructor’s syllabus warned students that anti-Black Lives Matter and pro-life viewpoints are “grounds for dismissal.” Instructor Chloe Clark’s English 250 syllabus includes a “giant warning” advising students that only certain views would be permitted during her classes. “I take this seriously,” she notes at the end of the warning. “Any instances of othering that you participate in intentionally (racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, sorophobia, transphobia, classism, mocking of mental health issues, body shaming, etc.) in class are grounds for dismissal from the classroom,” Clark wrote in the syllabus, a copy of which was provided to the Daily Caller News Foundation by the Young America’s Foundation (YAF).

For those wondering (like me) "sorophobia" apparently is a misspelling of "serophobia" which is a supposedly irrational fear of people with contagious diseases, primarily AIDS, I suspect. I'd could sit in the front row and hack up a lung from my allergies and tell her it's TB and Covid, just to see.

What the Iowa do any of those things have to do with learning English? Would sharing a desire that everybody in the country learn English be considered racism? If I were enrolled in that class, I'd be tempted to write in large red letters "This is Racist -- Your own Rule Dismisses You" across the syllabus in question, and hand it in on my way to the Registrar's Office to drop the class.

If a so called "instructor" at a major university can openly declare such bias, intolerance, dishonesty, and, frankly, stupidity, then the battle is almost lost before it begins. This imbecile must have been raised in a clogged toilet to get away with such outlandish moronic points in her class syllabus. And the university that supports and defends this idiocy is as useless as chop sticks in the soup line. Is it any wonder that the democrats are calling to defund the police while they also want the public to TURN IN THEIR GUNS to cut down on gun violence in the city (Philadelphia).

I am confused. I think gay men should have the same rights I do. If they want to marry a woman I'm cool with that if the woman is. At the same time I don't think I should be allowed to marry a man and I'd apply that same standard to a gay man. Where is the discrimination in that? Where is the "othering"? On the other hand I think a fetus has the same right to live that I do, but this professor seems to find that not merely odd but evil. She seems to be the one denying the "other" the same rights she would demand for herself.

If this isn't used in a campaign commercial......when you realize the current list only has certain views, but who's to say this list doesn't quickly grow into a larger list? FTA; Instructor Chloe Clark’s English 250 syllabus includes a “giant warning” advising students that --------- only certain views would be permitted during her classes. A new consideration should be "diversity of opinion and views" on college campuses, and ensure faculty, administration and staff reflect a broad, diverse group of ideas and opinions. My wife worked at a university for 30 years, and I attended a number of functions where the faculty, in particular, felt very comfortable spewing all sorts of hate with no one countering their comments.

#21, I have a view on the matter of tenure, please correct me if I missed something. As I understand tenure was implemented to allow the free discussion of what may be unpopular option within the context of rational learning. First, I am amazed I got that into a sentence. Next, Tenure was to expand the mind without fear. This person's grant of tenure does *not* allow her to *limit* the thoughts of her students. No. The exact opposite is the entire reason. Expand your knowledge without fear of reprisal. Someone missed the point. As to 'protection' I have just laid out the case to where this is not an item covered under the concept of tenure. I'd also like to ask, why is it English profs keep going off the deep end? Mizzu @Columbia loud moth 'beat these guys up'(BTW she is now teaching at Gonzaga in Washington State..keep an eye out for her), UNoDak English prof causing grief in a small campus, and now this example of no job market for English majors. I would like to note that all three of these examples happen to be born female. Don't know if it is relevant, but facts are facts.

This instructor seems to be the Queen of Othering. It is a class on communication, but you are not allowed to communicate any views except what the left says is politically correct. How can one talk about monsters and isolating and controlling others without mentioning the tactics of the left? Black Lives Matter is nothing but a rhetoric of violence.... do as we say or we will burn, loot and commit violence against you. It's unbelievable that in a communications class taught to young impressionable minds only one viewpoint is acceptable. No other beliefs are tolerated, or you will fail the class.

Merriam-Webster's site says, "The use of other as a verb is rooted in sociology: to other a certain culture or individual is to treat that culture as fundamentally different from another class of individuals, often by emphasizing its apartness in traits that differ from one's own." As an English teacher, she must be aware of that definition, right? Since some cultures, not to mention individuals, are in fact fundamentally different from others [my Berkeley Anthropology degree allows me to claim that], where's the rub?! How is that 'embracing diversity'? Idiot.

The students should dismiss her on day one, and show her what it feels like to be in the out-group--that group that thinks it's entitled to tell others what they can and can't say. The death of Harry Dunn, an English teenager who was killed on August 27 2019, sparked a “bitter diplomatic row” between Great Britain and the United States. At the center of this row is the concept of “diplomatic immunity.” While riding his motorcycle, Dunn was killed in a head on collision with an SUV near RAF Croughton, a military base used by the U.S. Air Force. British police identified the driver as Anne Sacoolas — the wife of an American diplomat — and said that she was driving “on the wrong side of the road” when the collision occurred. The Arkansas Supreme Court on Tuesday ruled that Democrat Jimmie Wilson is ineligible to serve in the state Legislature due to decades-old misdemeanor convictions in federal court, wiping out Wilson's victory at the polls earlier this month in House District 12. Wilson, a former state lawmaker who was convicted of selling mortgaged crops and illegal use of farm loans, had argued that a pardon he received from President Bill Clinton in 2001 removed any barriers to his potential return to the Legislature. Running against Republican David Tollett, Wilson received more than 52% of the vote in the Nov. 3 election. A unanimous decision by the high court, however, held that the pardon

The 2020 list doesn’t just rank not-ready-for-prime-time candidates, but also the institutions and strategies that didn’t live up to expectations. This year’s lineup most fowl includes a deep-pocketed presidential candidate, well-funded Senate candidates, ideologically-out-of-step Democratic recruits, and an appointed GOP senator who lost two straight elections in a traditionally Republican state. 1. Trump needs to have overwhelming evidence of election fraud, and he needs to bring that evidence to light in very public hearings. Without such evidence, his claims won’t be taken seriously enough—by the press or a sufficient number of the electorate—to ensure a peaceful transition to a second term. The rush job to affirm Biden as president-elect by the media and the Democrat Party is not constitutionally required, and indeed smacks of a kind of desperation to avoid scrutiny. Contrary to their claims, Trump’s thorough investigation of potential large-scale election fraud is fully in accord with the Constitution. As the one in whom executive power is vested,

Nancy Pelosi’s top priority is to turn America into a one-party nation ruled by Democrats. Her bill HR 1 trashes the U.S. Constitution in an attempt to rig the system and make it virtually impossible to elect a Republican president or Congress again. It’s a power grab. The bill eviscerates state voting laws and forces all the states to conform to a set of rules that includes automatic voter registration. Anyone who goes to a DMV or applies for food stamps, Medicaid or other social services, or attends a public college will be automatically enrolled to vote. Noncitizens are obligated to identify themselves and opt out,

President Biden on Monday seemed to forget Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s name at a White House event—calling the Pentagon chief “the guy who runs that outfit over there.” Biden was announcing the nomination of two female generals to lead US military combatant commands. “And I want to thank the sec—the, the, ah former general. I keep calling him general, but my, my—the guy who runs that outfit over there,” Biden said.(Snip) Earlier at the event, Biden mentioned the Defense Department leader by his name, “Secretary Austin,” while appearing to read from a teleprompter.

The Royal Family was left reeling this morning after Meghan Markle tearfully revealed that the stress of royal life made her suicidal when she was five months pregnant, claimed Archie was denied the title of prince because he is mixed-race and said Kate Middleton made her cry before she married Harry in a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey. The couple also chose to reveal that they are having a baby girl to the tens of millions of people watching the CBS show broadcast in the US before accusing the Royal Family of racism and revealing the deep rift 'Megxit' has caused with Prince Charles and Prince William.

I’m probably second to none in my dislike for Meghan Markle. There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred. And the problem is that, when it comes to that left-wing diva, Meghan Markle, it’s hard to believe most of what she says. After weeks of hype, CBS finally televised Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah.

Without question, the vast majority of Americans who support former President Donald Trump were angry and frustrated throughout 2020 passed with barely a mention of then-U.S. Attorney John Durham’s criminal investigation into the FBI’s fraudulent “Russiagate” counterterrorism operation directed at his 2016 campaign. In the weeks before the November election, word got out that then-Attorney General William Barr wasn’t going to announce any indictments or even a report on Durham’s investigation because he did not want to influence the outcome. So far, in fact, the only indictment to come out of the Durham probe is that of former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith, who essentially got a slap on the wrist

Rep. Steve Cohen vowed to renew the push to remove former FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover’s name from the bureau’s downtown Washington headquarters, according to an interview released Monday. Appearing on Yahoo! News’ Skullduggery podcast, the Tennessee Democrat said the effort is getting a fresh look after the release of a new movie highlighting the FBI’s secret program to discredit civil rights activists. The Washington Times in 2019 first reported Democrats’ bid to strip the longtime FBI director’s name from the bureau’s headquarters. Mr. Cohen said the impetus to revive the bid is the new movie, “Judas and the Black Messiah.” The movie details

“There must have been a moment, at the beginning, when we could have said –-no. But somehow we missed it.” Tom Stoppard The millions of Americans who were paying attention throughout the 2020 election campaign all became painfully aware of the fact that Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities were slipping and slipping fast. His wife, as the person closest to him, should have been the one to call the campaign quits in order to reduce stress on the man. Instead, apparently so anxious to become the First Lady by any means necessary, Mrs. Biden continued to push her failing husband’s campaign forward as if he were mentally qualified.
