The death of Harry Dunn, an English teenager who was killed on August 27 2019, sparked a “bitter diplomatic row” between Great Britain and the United States. At the center of this row is the concept of “diplomatic immunity.”
While riding his motorcycle, Dunn was killed in a head on collision with an SUV near RAF Croughton, a military base used by the U.S. Air Force. British police identified the driver as Anne Sacoolas — the wife of an American diplomat — and said that she was driving “on the wrong side of the road” when the collision occurred.
A diplomatic row exploded when, after “British prosecutors charged her with causing death

Rule of the Land prevents prosecution. The only resolution is to change it. The foreign diplomats in U.S. are free from prosecution and they knowingly break the law daily! The financial loss from their juvenile criminal behaviors is in the billions. Kick the U.N. out of NYC! I'm sorry for Dunn's parents. If Anne Sacoolas had any moral conscience, she should deal with Dunn's parents voluntarily. Probably she's prevented from doing that due to ......some legal reason.

Car accidents are usually civil matters. I would be heartbroken about my child's death but my anger could not turn a tragic accident into a murder. This is not the kind of case to turn into an international incident. The driver made a mistake. She was not drunk, texting, etc. from what I've read.

IIRC, The Parents were brought to PDT and were offered the chance to speak with this Diplomatic Spouse. They refused. she was in the next room.
I ALSO remember that they wanted cash.
No. I empathize, but there are things going on on both sides.
As to the concept of the Diplomatic immunity, it is a simple and actually graceful way to avoid political prosecutions.

I have driven for years in England and South Africa, on the wrong side of the road. I am extremely aware of how critical it is to do it correctly. IMO, she is absolutely guilty.
But, it sounds like the parents are moneygrubbers. And the diplomatic immunity thing is real, and legal.
Sounds like low class people on both sides of this one.

Any citizen of any country would be facing legal action of some kind, but since Sacoolas is a diplomat, Get Out Of Jail Free. Doesn't quite seem right. She has to be held responsible for what she did.

Driving on the wrong side of the road. Exactly why I don't drive when I've been in England. Just a moment of inattention, and an accident can happen. I'm not willing to put myself or anyone else in danger because I'm not familiar with the rules of the road in a foreign country.

The solution here is to simply compromise. We extradite her, and they (the British) extradite Gary McKinnon. Look him up here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_McKinnon

The plaintiffs pushing this action should be complaining to the British Government, as it was that Government who decided to grant the American lady Diplomatic Immunity in the United Kingdom, not the US Government or President Trump.

"[A] massive 89 per cent of [Britons who drive outside the UK who were] questioned admitted they had little or no understanding of foreign road signs and regulation."
"More than half of Britons (59 per cent) admitted to becoming confused and said they’d driven on the left by mistake."
Brits make traffic mistakes overseas as well. In my experience British drivers are excellent, but driving on the other side of the road requires constant attention. I made The Mistake ONCE, in Manchester in 1977, and never again. I´ve since driven extensively in the UK, South Africa and Australia without incident. Mrs. Sacoolas made a mistake that´s not uncommon. Harry Dunn´s parents were invited to the White House to speak with the president. Mrs. Sacoolas was waiting in the next room, and was available to speak with them. Harry Dunn´s parents refused to meet with her! I don´t see any good faith on their part, only a desire for revenge against an American KILLER!! Many Brits despise Americans, so that´s no surprise.

It all depends upon the country you are in at the time. In Kuwait, if a non-Kuwaiti citizen kills a Kuwaiti in a traffic accident, he is whisked out of the country in the middle of the night or his life isn't worth a pound of sand, Americans included. In contrast, Kuwaitis can drive Ferraris around at 120+ and cause spectacular crashes, which are attributed to a simple joy-riding accident.
