How to turn Sean Hannity

Original Article

I didn’t set out to compost Sean Hannity. It was something I settled on after considering several other options and rejecting them one by one. The first was leaving him in the basement indefinitely. That worked for a while. I could almost forget about him there, but then I would go down with a basket of laundry and see him and think, I have to do something. I should explain: I don’t mean the man himself, but Hannity the book. It’s called “Let Freedom Ring: Winning the War of Liberty Over Liberalism.” It’s part of a collection I have: right-wing culture war books from the Fox-News-angry-White-person’s superhero universe.

Wow, sooooo clever. This is what today's journalists have turned into, mind-diminished critics of people who actually care about America. He should be fined for wasting the time of so many people. The Washington Post should be fined for putting garbage into print and using up good bandwidth. I will refrain from making the obvious Downes Syndrome remark and leave that kind of insensitive humor to Barack Obama.

By the way, Let Freedom Ring is an old book of Hannity's. The new one is Live Free or Die and is selling quite well. All old political books end up in the dust bin eventually because they have a short shelf life, unless they are written by Hillary or one of the Obamas, then they are fast-tracked.

Compare and contrast with a VDH column. Like everything progressive -- void of thought, Alinsky-esque, a recitation of the Catechism of Hate by the Left. And at the fringes (because they don't talk about fact and ideas directly . . . ever) you can see the bedrock delusions they share: [T]he plutocrat propagandists of Fox, talk radio and the GOP are lying liars who have vandalized our politics and country . .. . if Hannity and company want to keep telling us that we are all at war, to keep stoking the flames and fanning the fear, It reads like a journal entry of a Millennial living in his Mother's basement.

Frankly, I'm very tired Hannity hawking his new book non-stop. He's even appearing on other shows these days so that those hosts can congratulate and interview him about the book. Until this is over, I'll be monitoring his show via fast-forward - through gerry rivers, through the ridiculous white board - until Leo Terrell appears. After that, it's over.

That headline alone is a great example of liberal leftist thinking. I lost respect for Hannity a long time ago, when he refused to stand up to his co-host Alan Colmes as he conducted his vicious and nasty attacks on a good and decent Christian woman. All he could come up with were some whimpers, and it was from that point I think he started his slide into irrelevance, from his radio show to his television spot. IOW, my disagreements and loss of respect for Hannity are based on something called his ACTIONS, not because he is a republican patriot and loves his country. The Leftists need to find another country to flee to if they don't like it here. But leave the rest of us alone to live our lives in peace.

Washington — The House's No. 2 Democrat announced Monday the lower chamber will not return for votes in Washington until mid-September after negotiations between Democratic leaders and the White House on the next coronavirus relief measure collapsed last week, leaving millions of jobless Americans without immediate relief. According to the schedule released by House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer on Monday, the House will not convene for votes until September 14. Members will be working in their home districts and conducting committee work for the first two weeks of September. Lawmakers were initially scheduled to return September 8.

Susan Rice and her multimillionaire husband have poured thousands of dollars into Joe Biden's presidential campaign, substantially increasing their contributions as the former national security adviser was floated as a potential running mate. Rice and her husband, the former ABC News producer Ian Cameron, increased their contributions to Biden as Rice's name moved to the top of his list of vice presidential options, campaign finance records show, funneling $24,000 to Biden in the month of June alone. The sum marks a vast increase over their previous giving: Prior to that time, the couple had contributed a total of $5,800 to the campaign over the course of the cycle.

If you’ve kept half an eye on the ‘who will it be?’ story that is the Democratic party’s vice-presidential nomination, you’ll have heard commentators suggesting that Biden will pick a ‘do no harm’ candidate. In other words, Biden should play it safe: given his lead in the polls, he can only slip up, so boring is better than original; boring is better than exciting; uninspiring beats edgy. Do no harm — it’s become journalistic shorthand for boring. The trouble is, there is no such thing as a harmless Veep pick

Last October, Ibrahim Bouaichi sexually assaulted Karla Dominguez with whom he reportedly had been in a relationship. He was charged with six felony counts and held without bond in an Alexandria, Virginia jail. In April, a judge, Nolan Dawkins, ordered the release of Bouaichi due to the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic. Bouaichi was 33 years old. The virus probably posed about the same threat to his health as the flu. Moreover, there had been no cases of the virus at the Alexandria jail. Bouaichi’s lawyers argued that visits to the jail had been curtailed and that they needed to meet with their client. But all trials had been postponed.

Protests over the past few months in cities like Portland, Seattle and even New York have led to violence all too often. Louisville, Ky., has had enough. On Sunday, its police department banned street marches and caravans that block city streets, restricting protesters to sidewalks. It’s more than reasonable; it’s wise. Clashes with police have led to injuries and arrests, and though the right to assemble is guaranteed by the First Amendment, public safety matters, too.

What a smackdown! Furious that Democrat leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer were blocking a bill to help Americans through the COVID-19 crisis, President Trump stepped up and got the job done, all by himself. Over the weekend, he issued four executive orders that would extend modified unemployment relief to millions who are out of work, protect many from eviction from their homes, provide continued relief from student loan debt and suspend payroll taxes for employers and those earning less than $100,000. It may not be enough, but it was more than Democrats were offering.

While generic faith in the media has been gradually declining over recent decades, the precipitous drop in trust and questions about what motivates the mainstream media can be traced to June 2015 and Donald Trump’s entry into the presidential sweepstakes.

A convoy consisting of thousands of bikers headed for a South Dakota rally will not be allowed to cross Cheyenne River Sioux checkpoints on their way to the event, according to a Native American spokesman. The spokesman said Saturday that the band of travelers would be stopped on their way to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, in the name of preventing coronavirus from spreading any further. The seven tribes that make up the Sioux Nation are now in a fight with federal and state officials, who deemed such checkpoints to be illegal.
