While Chicago's beaches remain closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, dozens of people gathered in an area near the city's Montrose Beach Saturday, prompting criticism from Mayor Lori Lightfoot.
Lightfoot posted a social media showing several individuals, many of them who appeared to not be abiding by social distancing guidelines, in a grassy area near boat docks.
"It's called a pandemic, people," the mayor tweeted. "This reckless behavior on Montrose Beach is what will cause us to shut down the parks and lakefront. Don't make us take steps backwards." The mayor also tweeted she "stopped by to see for herself," and the situation is being addressed.

So what, mayor? Just how big a 'pandemic' is a disease that requires over 80% of the humans who have it, have to be tested to even know they have/had it?

Should have brought a gun and shot up a few people. Then you would have been totally ignored by the msm and Chicago politicians.

It is seen by dems as an excellent opportunity to conduct a "freedom grab" from their subjects.
I don't know which I find more egregious, the one doing the grabbing, or the subjects who are tolerating it.

The photo used shows a crowd of white people. Did the mayor also caution groups of blacks who probably gathered at other beaches on the beautiful day?
Does she even know that sunlight is the greatest disinfectant?

The only public place my wife and I go to by choice is the beach. It’s a beautiful thing Not a mask in sight. Although to get there we have to drive by a string of shops where most people walk along the sidewalks never taking their masks off. I’m sorry but I have to turn my head

Yes, and SO WHAT?
In my county of over 600,000 people, where we have pretty good online data,we can see why they don't care. I find this chart very useful. This is the TOTAL number of ChinaVirus deaths since this thing started.
AGE DEATHS
0-9 none
10-19 none
20-29 1
30-39 none
40-49 2
50-59 none
60-69 6
70-79 14
80+ 80
So, if you are under the age of 60, your odds of dying are vanishingly small. If you are "in your 60s", there is a slight risk, if you are "in your 70s", a moderate risk, especially if you are obese, diabetic, have liver problems, etc. If you are over the age of 80, you really should stay home, and make a huge effort to prevent getting this disease. It is deadly to the very elderly.
My wife's uncle, in his late 80s, died last week from ChinaVirus, so it is real, but it takes the very old, almost exclusively.

Silly beach people. Don't they know all they had to do was carry a BLM sign, and chant a few anti-police slogans, and they were totally protected from getting the Chinavirus?!?!?!? It's a magical formula!!!
Heck, Mayor Beatlejuice probably would have gone down to take a photo op with them!!!

If you want to catch any disease or infection go to Montrose Beach. It is filthy. In years past it had to be close for water contamination. But hey, Chicago, don't forget to wear the mask.

The REAL panDEMic is the lack of law enforcement, political support for criminals and trashing everyday peoples lives.

Young, healthy people do not die from this. And for some odd reason believe they should live this year the same way they lived every preceding year.
And I agree with them.

dear mayor Beetlejuice, I suggest there is more carnage from your daily shootings than the kung flu. Maybe you should put your focus on the 'guns' that are going around shooting people, of course criminals and thugs have nothing too do with this issue..

What does this black, lesbian Karen do, ride around her burned out city and look for social distancing violations? Why doesn't she take a ride through some of the South Side neighborhoods instead? Lots more excitement there.

Not reported here but Lightfoot "addressed" the issue by having fencing installed to keep people out of the park area near the harbor.
