Thursday to condemn an onslaught of recent anti-Catholic attacks. CatholicVote said the former vice president should publicly speak out against the attacks, saying that since Biden is both a self-professed and baptized Catholic, he has a responsibility to condemn acts of vandalism and violence against Catholic churches. “Catholic churches across America are literally burning, and Joe Biden has said nothing,” CatholicVote President Brian Burch said in a statement provided to the Daily Caller News Foundation. “Leading members of the Democratic Party have fueled a climate of hate against Catholics, and these attacks have now led to acts of vandalism and violence.”

I wasn't aware that Dementia Joe had been denied Holy Communion last October over his stance on abortion. About time SOMEONE stood up to a leftist!!

I have never understood why so many Catholics vote Democrat while that party and it's leaders support abortion. Of course abortion is why Democrats speak against the Catholic Church. Any denomination should always speak out against violence toward others or their property. Even public property belongs to others - the taxpayers.

He may have been baptized a catholic, but he certainly hasn’t lived his life as one. Look at the values he instilled in his sons and his view on abortion. It must be that being a dem erodes all morals and integrity.

#1 - I have asked that question of several fellow parishioners; good people but solid Dems. They put abortion into a box off to the side. Although they are against abortion, they do not feel society has the right to ban the practice for others. They vote Dem because "they care about people." Go figure. Haven't seen anyone since the China virus hit. I'm curious to know if they're all still in the Dem camp. MAGA: Make America Godly Again

#1,#10- The contradiction of being a devoted Christian, yet voting for politicians and/or a party that fully embraces abortion at all stages, is a bewilderment shared by many other believers. Speculation suggests that these people, with heartfelt commitment to their religious faiths, may be naïve in the sense of wanting to be kind, generous, and compassionate toward others, but do not fully understanding that there is no middle ground when it comes to being either for or against Jesus (Matthew 12:30, Luke 11:23, Revelation 3:15-16). Further speculation suggests that, because of decades of pro-choice advocates insisting that a fetus is a not a person, that it is clump of cells, these naïve people of faith may be victims of pro-choice propaganda. Scripture is clear that God knows us before we are born—God formed us in the wombs of our mothers (Psalm 127:3, Psalm 139:13, Isaiah 49:5, Jeremiah 1:5, Job 31:15). Ultimately, the Fifth Commandment, “Thou shalt not kill” should be the impetus for such naïve or timid believers to resist voting for pro-choice candidates and/or political party. Somehow, in some way, may these dear souls find the enlightenment and courage to say “no” to abortion advocates and make clear they are committed to the Lord. Indeed, #10, MAGA: Make America Godly Again

The Left’s ‘Trump Won’t Split’ Riff 4 replies

The Left projects more than a drive-in movie theater. The latest case in point is the febrile effort to stoke the “Trump won’t split” riff. The Hill on Monday offered a prime example of this regressive riff, this time emanating from MSNBC columnist Mike Barnicle during an appearance on “Morning Joe.” Fraught with intimations of a prospective civil war, Barnicle’s analysis proffered both an electoral dilemma and his solution for it: One thing we all learned in the year 2000 is that Republicans are good at fixing the way we count ballots in the country. Now, with this furor over mail-in votes, we could be sitting down for Thanksgiving dinner

I have spent my professional life defending the First Amendment and the free-speech rights it enshrines. It is the bulwark of all our freedoms. The attacks on it are proliferating alarmingly. Now, the most powerful social media platforms—which function as today’s public square—are arrogantly silencing a U.S. president. If a president’s right to be heard in the public square may be freely assaulted, who is safe? This is extremely dangerous to self-government and the perpetuation of our civil rights. Yet politicians, many of them bought off by those social-media giants, do nothing. And the news media, which in the days of more objective journalism boldly championed free speech,

As my colleague Bonchie wrote last night, President Trump executed what may be the best media trolling of his tenure during a press conference he held Friday at his Bedminster, NJ golf club. Trump called the gathering a “peaceful protest” when asked by journalists about some supporters in the crowd who reportedly were not adhering to CDC guidelines on social distancing and wearing masks. Another Trump quote from the presser getting a lot of attention in the usual left-wing media circles this weekend is a moment where he was caught on a hot mic talking to some club members in attendance

President Trump has signed an Executive Order extending certain Wuhan China Virus relief funding and restrictions. As I noted in an earlier piece, the President felt it necessary to take decisive action due to the determined efforts by the Democrat leadership to lard up legislation with irrelevant amendments and refuse any compromise. In a brutally honest assessment, the President stated that he and the Republicans have been negotiating in good faith, while Speaker Pelosi and Leader Schumer were obstructing progress. President Trump spent a significant amount of time excoriating Democrat efforts to “steal the election,”

In April of 2005, Sen. Barack Obama took to the floor of the United States Senate and passionately spoke out against Republican efforts to end the filibuster. Then a rising star in the Democratic Party, Obama noted that despite the pressure partisans might feel, it was imperative to “rise above an ‘ends justify the means’ mentality because we’re here to answer to the people—all of the people—not just the ones wearing our party label.” Last week, Obama made precisely the opposite argument during John Lewis’ funeral, contending that eliminating a vital check on partisan power was justified as long as Democrats got the policies they desired.

The first time I was wounded, I bled little and required no serious treatment, but the soldier next to me, who bore the full brunt of the rocket-propelled grenade that struck our tank, was killed instantly. He volunteered—begged, in fact—to be on the mission that became his last because he loved his job, loved his fellow soldiers, and loved his country. His last act was preparing to fire his machine gun at an enemy position to protect our convoy. It was a final, fatal act of love. For that, he was posthumously awarded a Purple Heart. I’m reminded of this by the approach of Purple Heart Day on Aug. 7.

Although the 30-year-old Democratic socialist is one of the most recognizable new leaders in the party, centrists are opposed to giving her time to speak. “I think [Vermont Sen.] Bernie [Sanders] and [Massachusetts Sen. The Seattle City Council voted unanimously on Wednesday in support of police budget proposals that would lay off 100 police officers, despite objections from the city's mayor and police chief. The city council began to reexamine the police department's budget earlier this summer in response to anti-police protests. Mayor Jenny Durkan (D.) and police chief Carmen Best criticized the most recent set of proposals, which would also end the removal of homeless people from the city's streets and cut salaries for police leadership. Durkan said the cuts would hit the "most diverse class" of officers the city has ever had, as police union rules mandate that layoffs are determined by seniority.
