On August 1, the Washington Post published an op-ed by the now-retired Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman, of impeachment fame. The paper’s editors had to heavily revise the piece prior to publication. American Greatness has obtained the text of Vindman’s first draft.
After 21 years of playing soldier, I am now a civilian. I decided to retire, as difficult as it was, because I am getting a cool $1 million for my upcoming memoir, and no longer need to pretend that I care. I was hoping for $2 million, but I suppose $1 million will have to do. Besides, I had every expectation of being promoted to a general, but

He was clearly playing soldier, from what I saw, and wasn't squared-away. A disgrace to the uniform, is fat-boy, commie, loser, vindman. He's all 8-up.

They Aren’t Paying Me off for Nothing. FIFY
Why not? You testified to something you didn't hear, so why not for a memoir - it's a form of money laundering.

I hope you lose the million as fast as you get it.

I'd take the million too, but I bet it won't earn a million for the publisher.

It is clearly satire. The real news is how close it is to the truth.

What a self-serving smug little puppy.
FTA (emphasis mine):
This chorus of love from Pelosi, Schumer, Nadler, and Schiff drowns out the spurious criticisms from a president who never should have won the election, whom I never respected, and whom I never had any intention of serving.
Then you should have resigned your commission in November 2016.

There is no doubt that the liberal publishing houses are pleased as punch to pay a million dollars to anyone who writes an anti-Trump book, and especially if it can be released during the run up to the election.

Yes, yes they are Vindman. Just like they paid, Omarossa, Stormy, that NYC hag who keeps claiming Trump did her in a department store, Bolton and so on. All money down the same rat hole and you are just the latest to be exploited. My hope is that Trump puts an embargo on anything you spew, simply for national security purposes.

Fortunatly, publishers are able to make money on books by Hannity, Levin, Gutfeld, Pirro, Dobbs, and others enough to cover their "losses" (or political payoffs) on books written by leftists.
I laugh every Sunday when I quickly scan the "best sellers" list. Mrs Obama's tome is still there almost two years after it was first foisted on the populace. Don't tell me top-ten numbers are sold every week. It's kind of like relieving yourself on my shoe and telling me it's raining.

I think these book deals are bribe payoffs. What can VIndman offer that we already don't know? Who will buy his book? He isn't important at all.

I hope you have to pay $998,000 of your advance back. Unfortunately, I'm convinced that in this book advance scam you're getting your payoff from US taxpayers.

The overweight, splay-footed Vindman is the embodiment of the word “dork” and just what Leftist losers would envision as the perfect military man but I couldn’t read past the part where he said that a year ago he was the most important American in uniform. What a sickening statement from an officer let alone an aspiring General. He came across as egotistical, dull and totally lacking in charisma during the hearings last year but his sense of self-awareness is so horrible that he probably tried Harlequin Books first with the offer to pose for the cover dressed like Hercules with glasses. The Army dodged a bullet he resigned and even if he is guaranteed $1M for his book he will be shocked when exactly no one except his mother buys it.

I am retired Army and a Vietnam vet with a Purple Heart. I wish I had standing to file charges against this Pilsbury-style "Dough boy". He should be tried and convicted of disobeying a direct order--"Do NOT testify before any Congressional Committee." Conduct unbecoming an officer--"Lying to superiors, providing council to a foreign government (Ukraine) outside of the realm of his duty responsibilities." Violation of his enlistment oath to obey the lawful orders of those in higher authority--"Conveying sensitive information to a person or persons not authorized to have said info." That is more than enough for a reduction to the lowest enlisted rank, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and a Dishonorable Discharge following 5 years at hard labor in Leavenworth.

This sorry-excuse-for-a-military-officer will likely never get a book published -- he's already old news -- and if he does, it will soon end up on the discount book stack.

He has nothing to say he already has.
Is he going say how he was reprimanded on a training mission for being lazy and stealing food?
Yes he got a purple Heart but he was just riding in vehicle the hit IED.
Not like he was in a fire fight.
