The angry left-handed broom of America’s cultural revolution uses fear to sweep through the our civic, corporate and personal life. (Snip) Last week, with violence spiking around the country, I wrote a column on the growing sense of lawlessness in America’s urban areas. In response, the Tribune newspaper union, the Chicago Tribune Guild, which I have repeatedly and politely declined to join, wrote an open letter to management defaming me, by falsely accusing me of religious bigotry and fomenting conspiracy theories. Newspaper management has decided not to engage publicly with the union. So I will. For right now, let’s deal with facts.

Simply mention Soros and the left will accuse you of being anti-Semitic.

The dems want/need to control the narrative. The truth will defeat them .The 1st amendment is an obstacle to that so it must be taken away from those that speak the truth. That's why Twitter et al are censoring. The MSM is the enforcing arm of the party. The media has been biased for decades. When there were just newspapers and radio it was easy to hide. Not anymore. Every citizen can film and record what's really going on. The MSM has lost control of the narrative and they don't like it. They've all become " Baghdad Bob" now.

Easy answer. True Americans silenced themselves. They are concerned about not being liked, about losing friends, they choose spouses who don't share their values, they socialise without discretion. The are frightened of offending someone, they don't want their car keyed or to get a hard time at work. They looked the other way when their children came home from school with twisted notions about their country and spouting liberal drivel. When it mattered they took the easy way out and now they wonder what happened to their country. They let the mentally ill dictate to them about what is acceptable, what they could say, what their kids should learn in school, they accepted the mantra that there is no normal, that anything goes and they wonder what happened to their country. I am often reminded of the American revolution. The British complained because the colonists did not abide by the set rules of battle field engagement! You are supposed to line up like gentlemen and fire at the opposing side! What is this! It's an outrage! They are not supposed to ambush, or engage in guerilla warfare! How can we win IF YOU DON'T PLAY BY OUR RULES! Do you see my point? They own the battle, the battlefield and they set the rules and most Americans are politely playing by their rules. It's not rockt science. When it mattered many Americans thought being polite and being tolerant was more virtuous and... Here we are. Thoughts anyone, can you say I am wrong? It matters more now than ever. There are only 2 sides now Americans and Nazis. Which side are you on?

One segment of our society decided to disassociate with the rest of us and to do so they seized control of public discourse, including the media. There has been a war going on and only one side was aware of it so they won all the early battles. It's far from over.

Michael Goodwin of the New York Post recently wrote a similar piece. From that article: “I will forever be grateful to the lessons I learned during my 16 years [at the New York Times]. But it was a different paper then, one where standards of fairness were enforced and reporters’ biases were left on the cutting-room floor. Now the standards are on the cutting-room floor, with every story dominated by reporters’ opinions. The result is a daily train wreck that bears little resemblance to the traditions of what used to be a great newspaper, trusted because it was impartial. Even worse, the Times has moved beyond overt partisanship to declare itself the decider of all things relating to race. Its 1619 Project insists that slavery was the key to the nation’s founding, and that the war for independence was primarily about perpetuating white supremacy.”

The coronavirus pandemic has been great for streaming services as consumers quarantine at home and watch more video. The same can’t be said for regular TV. AT&T reported it lost another 886,000 cable and satellite TV subscribers in the second quarter of 2020. The telecommunications giant—the second largest TV provider in the US behind only Comcast—lost about the same number of TV subscribers in the previous quarter. Its total subscriber base has eroded 18% in the last year alone. If sports were still on TV, AT&T and other providers may have been able to temporarily slow down the acceleration of cord-cutting. But without sports, expensive TV bundles don’t offer consumers enough value.
