A group of veterans formed a line in front of protesters in Portland on Friday as the city endured another night of tense demonstrations.(Snip)They joined a group of Portland mothers calling themselves “Wall of Moms,” who chanted, “Moms are here. Feds stay clear.” Both groups were eventually dispersed with tear gas and other crowd control agents used by the federal forces.(Snip)Duston Obermeyer, a Marine Corps veteran, told the Times that the veterans were “there to ensure our citizens did not have their right to free speech and their right to protest and right to assemble taken away from them.”
I live in Red State flyover country. As much as I hate seeing our federal officers being permanently blinded or otherwise injured, just let the Left Coast burn itself down. I could not care less. They elected these retards controlling their cities and states. Let the state’s citizens be responsible for either keeping or rejecting Socialist control.

Protests? Free speech? More like arson and assault with a deadly weapon!

When I first saw the headline I thought a group of vets had shown up to support the federal law enforcement. Silly me, its Portland. The commie street performance is at least giving jobs to out-of-work actors. Let's see, first we had the Wall of Moms and now they are joined by the Wall of Dads and the Wall of Vets. What's next, the Wall of Teachers? The Wall of Government Workers? The Great Wall of China?
#1 - Be careful what you wish for, you may just get it yourself. The seeds of our destruction are sown far and wide over the countryside on every college and university campus. Every state capital has their version of K Street. Even in "red" states, how many legislatures are in session? How many are working with their governors and representing their people? It seems to me that every governor is still operating on their "temporary" emergency powers...for 4 months.
MAGA-KAG: Its for all 50 states or it ain't worth a damn.

And mommies. Don't forget the mommies helping Jr. protest. I think it's kind of pathetic, but it's kind of cute too. /s

How much free speech do these idiots want? We have heard their message over and over and nobody is buying it. Everwhere you look there are cutesy messages supporting people who are trying to take everything that honest people have earned. They are nothing but terrorists and despicable human beings. These "vets" have disgraced their uniforms.

Idiot. No one is taking away their right to free speech. They have the right to say whatever they want, no matter how stupid, but they do not have the right to destroy public or private property. Neither do they have a right to force the rest of us rational people to listen to, or believe whatever they say. And if they are involved in an attack on local or federal officers then they are no better than common criminals regardless of their alleged veteran status.

If these rioters were "peaceful protestors", there would be no need for the feds to step in.
But they are violent, hateful. and evil rioters. There is no Constitutional right to anarchy, violence, and destruction!!! In fact, it is their victims that deserve protection, not the rioters!!!!!

Lwft out the mosst important word limiting the protection of the right to Assembly as specifically prescribed in the First Amendment "PEACABLE". Any thing beyond that, starting with preventing people from going abut their lawful business is NOT PROTECTED. That is why the False Media is so assiduous to fraudulently refer to the general mayhem, rioting, arson, looting, blocking street and highways and even including outright personal open violence against individuals, groups, and law enforcement forces as "peaceful"; demonstrations and demonstrators.

The Wall of Vets, Moms, Dad, Women (whom videos reveal as the instigators of violence more than the men) and even paraplegics are no more than Human shields made up of useful idiots while the mayhem continues using surges or flinging material designed to injure from behind those walls and then retiring behind them ghen the retaliation starts.

First of all, The Hill did not show “dozens of vets” in their article, and the 2 that they did show looked like the Vindman twins. The left is desperate.

Lame vets is more like it. I'm sure most of US would NOT want these vets on our side. Traitors! I'm sure, if they were vets, they were in the bottom 1%.

These "vets" are probably guys who took the ASVAB but never enlisted or they washed out of basic training. They are no more vets than I am an Olympic athlete.

Maybe they're veterinarians and not veterans of the military. At any rate, I doubt they're concerned about local Dem oligarchs taking away freedom to assemble under the guise of virus restraint.

As a Veteran and member of the American Legion, it is hard for me to imagine a line of Veterans standing against Federal law enforcement and endorsing rioting and looting and destruction of property.
All the Veterans I know are ready to arm themselves and straighten this mess out.

The Portland protests have not been peaceful. There is nothing in the U.S. Constitution regarding free speech, protest, or assembly that makes allowance for destruction of federal property and/or injury to federal agents; however, there are provisions for punishment that include fines, and/or imprisonment up to 20 years or lifetime, or death: 18 U.S. Code § 1361 Government property or contracts; 18 U.S. Code § 1362 Communication lines, stations or systems; 18 U.S. Code § 111 Assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers or employees; 18 U.S. Code § 1114 Protection of officers and employees of the United States.
