Nearly half of respondents of a national poll conducted by Morning Consult are just fine with the name of NFL team The Washington Redskins. The football team, which has been for years accused of racism against Native Americans despite polls finding Native American majorities support the name, has been slated for change to placate a small group of online leftist agitators. However, it turns out that far more Americans believe the name ought to remain than those who prefer a more culturally sensitive name. According to the poll, 49 percent of respondents believe the Redskins should keep their nickname, with only 29 percent in favor of the upcoming change and 22

The Democrats should keep supporting this kind of nonsense. I’d venture that most American voters think it is absurd, downright silly...

As far as Native Americans are concerned, they are wiping those tribes right out of US corporate culture and history by removing even the honorable depictions of Native American corporate symbols from being seen by the American people on a daily basis. The result of which will push Native Americans and their culture back into obscurity. An example of that is the removal of the depiction of a proud Indian Chief’s Profile as the corporate symbol of the Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company that had no racial connotations.

Keep the name. But move the team out of D.C. and to a place where they would be appreciated and for many good reasons. Relocate the team to Oklahoma City, and call them the Oklahoma Redskins. Oklahoma literally means "Land of the red skinned people." It's a perfect fit. Get away from those backstabbing ingrates in Washington D.C. and move to Oklahoma, and get a real fan base. Plus, they would be just over the line from the hated Dallas Cowboys. A long standing tradition is maintained, and the rivalry made all the more fun.

Change the name to the Nomes. This is a place in Alaska which was originally labeled as "No Name". Then the map got folded, and was read as Nomes. Come on. The whole thing is pathetic. Redskins was an appelation given to a group of warriors who fought like h***. The intent of the name was that the players would likewise fight. This was not a "fight fiercely, Hawvid" name. Washington Wusses. Dan's Divers. Snyder's Suckers. Better yet: just disband the team. Serves no further purpose.

I have a few suggestions, limiting my choices to words used by Thomas Jefferson, in composing the Declaration of Independence - Washington Plunderers Washington Mercenaries Washington Tyranny Washington Merciless Indian Savages And if the 'savages' name is chosen, no need to change the logo. Going outside of Jefferson's words, my personal favorite would be - Washington Corruptocrats - just think of the logo possibilities, and the mascot costumes.

The "Washington" (as in Washington DC) part is the offensive part of their name, not the "Redskins" part!!! Redskins represents brave and fierce warriors (not that that is very representative of this team, since the Redskins have pretty much sucked for most of their history). Washington (as in Washington DC) represents a bunch of pansy bed-wetting swamp creatures -- which apparently is a great description for their owner too. Just call them the "East Side Crips". That will give them lots of street cred with the only people that will still be fans of these racist thug players!!!

In his 1992 book, The Way Things Ought to Be, radio host Rush Limbaugh warned that liberals would disguise their efforts to reclaim power by “superficially [advocating] . . . popular, sentimental political causes which are difficult for people to oppose.” According to Limbaugh, leftists adopted this cunning strategy because they are “painfully aware” their preferred policies cannot win majoritysupport in this country. “A common, broad-sweeping theme underlies all of these ‘movements’,” Limbaugh noted. “Unmistakably, that theme is anti-capitalism . . . and socialism.” Limbaugh was prescient, as Democrats are now using a Marxist organization—which has been strategically wrapped in an unassailable exoskeleton of racial justice—to recapture what they lost in
