Minneapolis City Council declares
racism a public health emergency

The Minneapolis City Council declared racism a public health emergency in the city Friday, vowing to allocate funding and other resources to “name, reverse, and repair the harm done” to people of color in the city. The resolution was unanimously approved nearly two months after George Floyd, a Black man, was killed by Minneapolis police while in custody in south Minneapolis.(Snip) During a committee meeting last week, Jenkins said Floyd’s killing, Black people’s vulnerability to the coronavirus and racial gaps in homeownership are issues that have “been deeply agreed upon that at the core is racism.” “How do we begin to address

Maybe one day, it will occur to them that a dirtbag, who happened to be black, was killed by a police officer, who happened to be white. Behaving like black crime will go away if you get rid of police is about as sane a notion as getting rid of your army will deter foreign invasions.

This is what happens when there are no adults in the room. And there is no racism. Blacks want to take over American culture with theirs and are facing resistance. And if more force is being used against blacks in arrests, maybe it's because they are being difficult. If one resists, they can expect forcible treatment.

Is there ANY evidence that the Minneapolis police arresting Floyd did anything to him out of racial animus? Would it kill us to wait until the facts of the case can be presented in a Constitutionally-guaranteed trial? Do we have to sacrifice our country to the Fentanyl and methaphetamine over-dose death of a man (the autopsy said he died of heart failure, not asphyxiation)?

FTA: "About 60% of use-of-force incidents by Minneapolis police since 2008 were against Black people, even though they only make up about 20% of the city." The writer conveniently omits the % of crimes committed by the 20%, or why force was most likely justified, given what we have seen for the last two months.

Racism goes both ways. There are black people who do not like white, Hispanic or Asians just because of the color of skin. So does this public health emergency include all races. If not I would say that the city council is not only racist and promoting racism. But they are also one sided and closed minded

The Democrats and their minions are trying to side slip back into the Jim Crow Era. As soon as enough people have had it with these violent anarchist and start taking the fight back at them, the Democrats will flip, claim they NEVER supported those 'Evil Viscous terrorists' and try to claim they were Republicans, just like they did going the other way with the KKK. Minneapolis has bee going down the drain for many years and everybody knows why. Just can't talk about it. Everything proposed is already being done. The problem is education, and education is free. You see, you don't need a college education. What you need is a good high school education and if you don't go to college you need to learn a skill, a trade. Every person has that chance but many choose not to do it. By giving things to someone doesn't solve the problem. Morals, values, faith and respect for authority would be a good start, ant that start in the home. A culture of violence has killed Minneapolis, they just won't admit it. Wake up.

Excellent question #4, in my county in eastern KS a friend who is a health care worker tells me that most of the patients in the hospital are Hispanics. My county has a low Hispanic population, but the county which starts a few miles north of her hospital has about 25-30% Hispanics. I wonder if they are going to my county when the yet sick, just a few miles driving will do it. Our county has just over 550 cases per 100,000 people. The heavily Hispanic adjacent county has 2,100 cases per 100,000. And our county has just under 16 deaths per 100K, that county has 53 deaths per 100K. So, SOMETHING is making Wuhan flu kill 3.5 times as many per capita in that county as in my county, and infect about four times as many per capita. Lifestyles? Pre-existing health problems? Do Hispanics have a higher incidence of diabetes, obesity, lung problems, kidney problems than whites? I don't know. Something is different.

"The Minneapolis City Council declared racism a public health emergency." That, folks, is the difference between ridiculous politicians, especially dem's, and President Trump. Politicians think their job is done when they "declare" an emergency, or when they have an investigation. They never DO anything about it. What did the politicians (Trey Gowdy) do about Benghazi? What did the politicians do about fast and furious? About Lois Lerner? Lois is still collecting her fat monthly retirement check! What did President Trump do about Qasem Soleimani? WHO burned down to the ground so many minority-owned businesses, just as these new entrepreneurs got started? Who brings drugs into the neighborhoods? Who forms the gangs? who enforces them and launches gang wars? Who makes the environment unhealthy, dirty, ramshackled? Who makes the schools unsafe, consigning so many precious children to poverty, despair and hopelessness? And who keeps reminding the world that blacks are descended from slaves?????????????? STOP doing that. I'm not sure any of us would be thrilled to look at every detail of our ancestries. Among blacks you may even find slave-holders and slave merchants. Darned Democrats never tire of repeating the slavery meme ad nauseum. The only reasons for this are to try to use it as a cudgel to blame Republicans when the perps were Dems; and to keep blacks depressed and hopeless. It's cruel. Consider that Democrats never highlight and praise the successes of black Americans. I suspect that this is why they are vicious to Conservative blacks. One thing is sure, we all need forgiveness and redemption. In the immortal words of Rodney King, "Can't we all just get along?" (or at least try?)

President Biden on Monday seemed to forget Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s name at a White House event—calling the Pentagon chief “the guy who runs that outfit over there.” Biden was announcing the nomination of two female generals to lead US military combatant commands. “And I want to thank the sec—the, the, ah former general. I keep calling him general, but my, my—the guy who runs that outfit over there,” Biden said.(Snip) Earlier at the event, Biden mentioned the Defense Department leader by his name, “Secretary Austin,” while appearing to read from a teleprompter.

I’m probably second to none in my dislike for Meghan Markle. There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred. And the problem is that, when it comes to that left-wing diva, Meghan Markle, it’s hard to believe most of what she says. After weeks of hype, CBS finally televised Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah.

Rep. Steve Cohen vowed to renew the push to remove former FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover’s name from the bureau’s downtown Washington headquarters, according to an interview released Monday. Appearing on Yahoo! News’ Skullduggery podcast, the Tennessee Democrat said the effort is getting a fresh look after the release of a new movie highlighting the FBI’s secret program to discredit civil rights activists. The Washington Times in 2019 first reported Democrats’ bid to strip the longtime FBI director’s name from the bureau’s headquarters. Mr. Cohen said the impetus to revive the bid is the new movie, “Judas and the Black Messiah.” The movie details

“There must have been a moment, at the beginning, when we could have said –-no. But somehow we missed it.” Tom Stoppard The millions of Americans who were paying attention throughout the 2020 election campaign all became painfully aware of the fact that Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities were slipping and slipping fast. His wife, as the person closest to him, should have been the one to call the campaign quits in order to reduce stress on the man. Instead, apparently so anxious to become the First Lady by any means necessary, Mrs. Biden continued to push her failing husband’s campaign forward as if he were mentally qualified.
