Black smoke rose as flames engulfed the Shahid Tondgooyan petrochemical plant in the Khuzestan province of Iran late Sunday afternoon.
Hours earlier, more than 500 miles away, detonations rocked the basement of an old, nondescript home in a northern pocket of Tehran. The two-story dwelling was said to have housed at least 30 gas cylinders that were used for unclear purposes.
Both incidents came fewer than two days after a string of explosions – and power outages – were reported west of Tehran in the early hours of Friday. Local reports indicated that multiple “mortar-like sounds similar to anti-aircraft missiles” were heard.

Coincidence, I tells ya.
Happenstance. Chaos theory! A butterfly flapped its wings in Burkino Faso and the subsequent chain of events led to a fire in Iran.

God's rods? I wonder if they come in lots of different sizes. Kinetic weapons would be pretty stealthy.

I would love to find out that PDT is behind this and calling the shots. And I’d like that information to be leaked in late October. Then Fingers Joe Biden can come out of his basement and announce that he’s on the side of the Mullahs.

This is good news for the rest of the world. Probably makes the workers nervous as hell, wondering what will blow up next.

I think the average American would be shocked if they knew the truth about some of the sordid details of the Iran nuclear deal. I've always thought that all roads lead to Iran. Will we ever learn the truth?

Excellent. Hopefully, Trump knew and approved, and made sure that the Democrats weren't consulted.

These attacks are unfair and unethical. I insist that we put a stop to them, eventually.

Could be that somebody is using a kinetic energy weapon? As another poster nentioned...Rods from Gid.
The concept first showed up in Robert Heinlein's The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, rocks launched from the moon as weapons. This cocept, with a dozen tungsten telephone poles was discussed at the city killer level as a possible space based weapon in the Reagan era. Perhaps we have a much smaller version, or possibly the Iraelis.
Just guessing here, but say you were to launch a small rocket from far enough that nobody notices..maybe Red Sea from a sub, or from a jet fighter at 50,000 ft, to suborbital height, maybe 150 miles altitude.
I did some quick calculations and a 3 inch diameter by six foot long tungsten rod would arrive with the kinetic energy equivalent to about 600 lbs of TNT.
That would be a real handy size to cause these explosions. Probably nothing left afterwards, either, the rod would probably turn to plasma.
I'm not the only smart engineer out there, and perhaps some other smart guy got a budget...and is having fun at the ayatolla's expense.
You shouldn't threaten to wipe out countries, they might believe you and stop you.

Sorry for typos..rods from God.
And the concept scales nicely. Use a 4 inch diameter rod, all other parameters the same, the energy is about equal to 1800 lbs of TNT.
