Dixie Chicks Officially Change
Name to ‘The Chicks’

Original Article

Posted By: Ribicon, 6/25/2020 1:07:59 PM

The Dixie Chicks have officially changed their name to “the Chicks,” after public discussions arose over the appropriateness of the Civil War-era “Dixie” as part of their moniker. The group had long been unofficially referred to as simply the Chicks by many fans and most of their associates in the music industry, but losing the “Dixie” is still a surprise, albeit a pleasant one to some supporters who had been quietly uncomfortable with the name and its historic connotations. “We want to meet this moment,” the country-pop trio said in a one-sentence statement on its website, alluding to the change.

How can this group of has-beens get some press? Why, by stealing some limelight from bLACK people during our Great Leap Forward; talk about tone-deaf. Some would say that "chicks" is derogatory toward women and perhaps also invalidates Transitioning-Americans, but that's a bridge to be crossed at a later time.

Although his doctor says he's in good health for a man his age, there is no guarantee that he will remain so for another four years, let alone eight. This reality framed Biden's decision about choosing a running mate. Because of his age, Biden needed to choose somebody who
