An armed auto body shop security guard was fatally shot by Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies Thursday night, a report said. The man, identified by his boss to CBSLA as 18-year-old Andres Guardado, was shot at about 6 p.m. after running from deputies in the town of Gardena. “The police came up, and they pulled their guns on him and he ran because he was scared, and they shot and killed him,” Andrew Heney, the shop’s owner, told the network. “He’s got a clean background and everything. There’s no reason.” It was not immediately clear what led police to respond to the location in the first place.

Once again, I'll wait and see what really happened. The first reports are always bogus.

He ran because he was scared. Suppose to be a security guard. Why would he run. Did he tell someone he was scared before he died? Or is someone just guessing. I’ll wait for the whole story

I was leaving work late one winter night and to my surprise was greeted by the local police with their hands on their weapons, not drawn. Since it was cold my hands were in my pockets and I was asked to take them out. I responded, oh I get it let me be real careful and slow. My keys had been in my hand so I let them go remaining in my pocket while slowly removing my hands.
Some bonehead had set the alarm without clearing the building and I was actually exiting to set the alarm at the door. Would they have shot me if I wasn't white as the falling snow? Of course not. I wasn't shot because I carefully complied and spoke to them expressing my understanding of their caution while identifying myself as the person in charge of the business.
By filling the heads of impressionable minds with thoughts of being preyed upon by the police and droves of white supremacists we have caused them to make poor decisions that are irrational in the context of the truth yet understandable in the context of the lies they believe in. The liars have blood on their hands, the race hucksters yes you Al, the media and opportunistic pandering politicians have blood on their hands. As do any who needlessly hand them excuses to to facilitate the gaslighting.

Years ago, ,my DH and I went out to watch a particular passenger train one winter night after dark, and parked in a closed business' parking lot down by the train tracks. We stayed in the car since it was cold, and were having a debate over whether we were at the right tracks, each with a map in our hands, pointing at different places on each map. A police car drove up behind us and scared us both to death. We did what he said and all three of us had a big laugh once he was satisfied we weren't criminals. Come to find out he was also a train buff who had driven there to see the same train which went by while he was checking us out.

OK, #6, your handle is explained. The old Zephyr streamliners were some pretty cool old art deco trains, for sure.

How does that go? "STOP, or I'll ..... um.. yell stop again... this time I'll say please and in a nonthreatening voice so I'm careful not to trigger you in any way"
Yeah. That's sure to get the bad guys. 2020 is brilliant and all those old timers were stupid. Right?

An auto body shop needs an armed guard? Get the need for security. Car parts are valuable. But armed security? Was he protecting something other than auto parts? Why employ an 18 year old to be that guard? Wouldn't you want someone more experienced? What experience would an 18 year old have? Are there any certification requirements to be an armed guard? Its California, so good chance there would be. This doesn't pass the smell test. Agree with waiting for the entire story. How long before the race hustlers and America-haters exploit this?

I don't know about the rest of you, but whenever I see a policeman fear takes hold of me and I run like hell too. Especially when I'm carrying a handgun. s/0
I suspect the young man had a few skeletons in his closet.

The kid ran because the gun was unregistered, given unconditionally by Eric Holder's Fast n Furious gun-running campaign.
