That is what officials in cities that have been devastated by rioters, looters and arsonists are saying to businesses whose investments in those cities have gone up in smoke. Steve touched on this earlier, but I want to amplify the point. The following are just three examples of many that we will see in the coming weeks.
From Chicago: Mayor Lightfoot Pleads With Walmart, Other Retailers To Not Abandon Chicago.
Mayor Lightfoot said she’s hopeful major retailers will reopen the Chicago stores that were looted or otherwise damaged during protests surrounding George Floyd’s killing by police in Minnesota. But, she’s unsure of one of the biggest.

These Dem Pols are worse than idiot children. They allow rioters to pillage and burn the stores while allowing no pushback by their police forces and then they have the nerve to act surprised when these retailers do the sensible thing by saying that they are not coming back. Unbelievable.

To all the retarded pols who allowed rioting and looting in their cities; learn to spell the word, “Schadenfreude!”

They will expect taxpayers to rebuild their cities too. With no shame.

Oh and by the way, we’re going to turn loose all of the looters and arsonists that we arrested without charging them with a crime. But really, we want you to rebuild your store.

#4, you forgot to add: not only are we turning loose the looters, arsonists, thieves, and thugs. There won’t be a “next time” because there will be no police to make arrests. They’re “defunded.”

They werent taught basic economics, they were taught that woke Sesame Street ghettonomics, i.e. business exists to serve poor people.
The truth is, business exists to make money. Nothing else. If the public is served at the same time all the better, but first there has to be profit. How can you make profit when constantly plagued by shoplifters, taxation, demand for donations to every parade and picnic, having to buy cage bars for the windows, alarm systems that will be ignored, more cameras than hollywood has, bulletproof glass, and now rioters and arsonists who the police wont arrest and the court wont prosecute. Of course, if you try to defend your own place you will be arrested and imprisoned.
Once is a mistake. Twice is a choice.

That is the question, why would any business want to rebuild after their stores have been looted and then burned to the ground. If you kick me in the groin am I supposed to thank you and ask you to do it again. No don't think so. The pandemic has done terrible damage to business across the country. This looting and burning was just the final straw. The left wing thugs want a race war. The fuse has been lit. Cooler heads must come forward and put the fire out.

Obviously, begging and pleading won't work. Better try shaming them into staying. THAT seems to work for all the other bowers and scrapers!

These large corporation stores may not WANT to rebuild but they will have to rebuild. They will be publicly shamed on social media if they don't.
Social media and the decadent, hysterical, immoral society it has fostered will destroy this nation.

Any company stupid enough to return deserves whatever the locals give them. Better to relocate further away from the Democrat hell-holes. Want groceries? Take a few bus rides and transfers.

I would think it would now be almost impossible for any Retail or Grocery store to get INSURANCE on their property. The Mayors, who ALLOWED the Riots and Looting of their cities, made a choice. They went with the Black Thugs! They did not do what was in the best interest of their residents. So, now everyone suffers. Well, everyone But the Looters and Thugs! They came out all this with money from ATM's they broke into, clothes from high end stores, Purses and Watches from places they would never been able to buy from and yes, groceries they grabbed. They are probably grilling their Steaks as we speak! So, Lori Lightheaded can beg all she wants, but I would bet those businesses will not reopen in Chicago's Ghetto or anywhere else that was Looted and Burned! You Reap what you Sow, Honey!

The mayors of these cities are finding out that they cannot have it both ways. Either you support law and order or you support anarchy and violence. There are supposed to be consequences for the latter. When there is not, people and businesses reassess the risk of staying there and more and more will decide the risk is not worth it.

Wage war on capitalism, it beg capitalists to bail you out so you can avoid the consequences of your actions. Got it, no thanks. Why don’t these socialists set up government-run grocery stores? They can pay their minimum wages, ignore shoplifters and check all their other SJW boxes while trying to make a go of it.

When there are no stores left to shop in, and UPS/FEDEX won't deliver to those areas, the people will finally realize what the democrats have done to them. Being permissive and lenient with criminals and crime, allowing private property and business' to be destroyed and looted, is not the way to attract business back. Of course, the jobs leave with the business too.
I suppose it could be called the democrat model for the Better business Bureau!

Please don't go. You have been dutifully paying outrageous taxes, being robbed blind in crime-ridden neighborhoods and electing democrats for decades. Why leave now just because your business is in ashes and the police department that you have been funding with aforementioned outrageous taxes stood there and watched it burn? Are you never happy? What's wrong with you?

There will be big areas in these parts of the cities with no stores. What kind of a fool would rebuild in those areas?
Thank a Democrat for this.

I am guessing at least 60-70% won't return. A few may come back if there is a decade of peace but most will never return. As one poster said, a couple of the big boxes may re-build to show that they are 'woke' and accept an unprofitable store as a cost of their virtue signaling but another looting and riot will drive them out forever. The real tragedy is what happened to the small business owners. All I have seen being interviewed said they had no insurance and were ruined. Insurance is expensive in those areas if you can get it at all. It will be mostly unavailable now.

The question is, WHEN are the people that live there going to stop electing the same government officials that let the looting happen? Almost no one wants minorities arbitrarily shot. But if you commit crimes, especially violent crimes, the likelihood of violent confrontation with the police goes up dramatically. When you expect carte blanche to act without consequences if you are Black, you will find very bad conditions and no business will want to be anywhere near the place. The politicians that incite violent responses are the CAUSE of this. People need to wise up and understand that they are fighting a losing battle by rioting and that the politicians are NOT their friends.
