The music industry is planning to turn off the music and hold a day to reflect and implement change in response to the death of George Floyd and the killings of other black people.
Several top record labels organized Black Out Tuesday as violent protests erupted around the world sparked by Floyd's death as well as the killings of Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor. (snip) Jay-Z released a statement late Sunday calling for Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison to prosecute those responsible for killing Floyd

That is really not a problem. I have been blocking out the noise for about 3 decades.

You can't tour and you can't record new stuff- not that I listen to you anyway. So go ahead and cut off your nose to spite your face.

What a wonderful idea! Now there is a void.
It's the perfect time for gospel singers/preachers to share Gd's love.

I am looking forward to it. Just imagine some great classics being played on Tuesday. A day with none of filthy lyrics we've come to ''know and love.'' Stay home until your socks rot, for all I care.

Hmmmm.....that gives me an idea. If there is one thing criminals can't stand, it's classical music. It's been used as a deterrent in many cities. Just blast Bach , Mozart , Strauss and assorted operas in the cities tomorrow. Watch them turn tail and run.

Jay Z the drug dealer? Yeah that will have lots of credibility. Most people with any sense of taste haven't listened to the stuff produced after the 70's or 80's. I want music, I will go golden oldies, or great music by Eva Cassidy or Sissel. I don't listen to the stuff that claims to be music right now. Because it isn't.

And with Fired Officer Chauvin already in custody, this is supposed to advance Justice for George HOW?
Until you have an answer for that, I'll be listening to better music than you can offer me.

So, Jay Z wants to prosecute the cop, but not the rioters and looters ? In his safe place again ?
In an earlier post, Ellison's son supports Antifa, the terrorist. More biased opinion ?

What? No Fats Domino, The Drifters, Brook Benton, Ella Fitzgerald and many other blacks who could actually sing in tune.

No music? That sounds like another call for insurrection and massive looting and destruction again. Stoke 'em up again.

If these people wanted to make a REAL statement, they should talk about how bands, orchestras, and choral groups that MAKE MUSIC TOGETHER get along REGARDLESS of race--
There is HARMONY among those who make music.
Taking music away for a day does WHAT to a make things better?
