Maine restaurant owners are going to have a lot of rotting food and idled staff on their hands, after their governor suddenly reversed a decision to allow them to re-open on June 1st. Having made the mistake of trusting their state governor, Janet Mills, the restaurants that were able to survive the lockdown spent scarce funds restocking their supplies and rehiring staff, in preparation for the promised reopening. But not so fast! WGME-TV, Portland reports: Restaurant owners in three Maine counties are reacting to news that they'll have to wait longer to reopen. Wednesday, Governor Janet Mills postponed the dine-in dates for

Dear Maine Voters.
In regards to the dictatorial, grossly lawless and unconstitutional actions of that squat, rodent looking governor who is destroying your freedoms and livelihoods:
You had a choice for governor during the last election and you chose this lifetime on the government teat communist to rule over you. Actions have consequences so if you now find yourselves regretting your actions at the polls, push back against this tyranny.
To all you restaurant owners whining about her actions: Grow some cojones, band together, chip in to create a legal defense fund, and reopen every single one of your restaurants tomorrow. Let this lil' Hitleress Governor try to arrest all of you at once. Your lives depend on taking this action.
Oh yeah, hope you learned your lesson and will never vote again for anyone who is a member of the democrat communist party.
Does main have a recall route to remove this POS?

Thru the years I’ve seen some bad republican Gov, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a good dem one. Voters get what they voted for.

You knew her, Maine. YOU voted for her, Maine voters. YOU wanted her, MAINE. Now you've got what you wanted.
THIS is your happily ever after! Don't you just LOVE IT when your plan comes together?

As Schlichter said, a vote for a "D" is a vote for Xi. More and more, I believe the chaos from Covid-19 and now the city riots go right back to Peking... (I prefer that)… in an attempt to defeat the best American President in my lifetime, President Trump, in November
I will NEVER vote for a Democrat!
Maine's 2nd Congressional District (northern Maine) is very conservative. Cumberland and York Counties (southern Maine) are full of out of staters and Massachusetts types.... all political liberals.

I feel for these business owners but as long as they keep electing democrats this will continue to happen. Democrats are disconnected from reality and have no feel for the people they govern. They've proven that time and time again.

Thank you Mr. Lipson for bringing light on this. She is horrible and has us still locked down in our homes and must wear masks out in public. I left CA fifteen years ago because I could no longer live there with the cost of living and the deteriorating state government. So I move to be near family and it’s worse here. I live in Cumberland county just outside of Portland where most businesses exist. Most of the county is democrat and scared to death of Mills. I would never ever vote democrat but she is throwing executive orders without consulting Republicans. Not enough of them to kick her out. Refusing opening of restaurants has been awful. So she is allowing them to sell their purchased food because she has interferred with their livelihood. People are ticked off but do they have the will to go to Augusta and fight her? Dems are stupid.

One thing that continues to puzzle me here at usually intelligent LCom. Somehow the notion that a state that has a larger number of Democrat voters than Republican voters can vote itself out of trouble. Seriously? But still the authoritarians will say that there was a choice for governor. How was that supposed to work for the Republicans when they were in the numeric minority?
It comes off as uninformed posturing, ignorant of facts. Broad brush blaming of everyone in a state because the political party of one segment - in this case, the Republicans - do not have the numbers to overcome the other segment, which has the majority.
We learn that Majority Rules when we are in elementary school. Some seem to fail to understand how that works in elections.

Does the article actually say "Janet Mills is a Democrat?" I know it seems obvious, but I've been surprised on occasion.

New England used to be normal. Not long ago it was a wonderful, charming place to live.
Then, New Yorkers moved to CT and ruined it. Massholes migrated to VT, NH and Maine and ruined them.
Liberals destroy everywhere they go and everything they touch.
Now they want Florida.
I HATE them.

As the saying goes you get what you deserve from those you elect to high office. In this case to low office. You Mainers love her because she is as lame as you all are and will no doubt reelect her next time around. So in the mean time do not go outside stay home shelter in place wear a mask at all times use hand sanitizer ten times a day and shut the F up.

Maine had Republican Paul LePage as governor for eight years...successful yet very brash and put his foot in his mouth a lot which rubbed many the wrong way. He could not run again due to term limits, and the GOP candidate against Mills had no name recognition. Now word is that Mills won't run again, and LePage says he'll run against her or whoever is the challenger--which he can do now legally.

The leftists are figuring out they need the twofer of the mayhem of the riots and looting and closure of businesses. Destruction everywhere; a win for dems. They'll be no laws come election time so the most evil cheaters win.

We have been looking forward to a vacation this fall on the Maine coast. Time for a lobster fix. But given all the BS she has hurled, our plans have changed to a Florida or S. Carolina trip. Too bad.

I agree with #13. Adding to what has already been said, we always have to consider the factor of voter fraud whenever a Democrat is elected. Mills may have been the voters' choice; she may also have been the designated Soros candidate who got a big boost from his team of election fixers. In any event, I wonder what would happen if the restaurants opened up anyway, with a great big Bronx cheer to the Dishonorable Janet Mills..
