[Video] Rioters in Atlanta decided to spare a local Waffle House, amid an otherwise uninterrupted rampage through the city Friday evening.
Video uploaded to Twitter shows the rabble-rousers descending on the iconic breakfast chain before an ad hoc group decision was made to leave it alone.
“Not the Waffle House,” several protesters cried, with others shouting, “No, no.”
Another man said, “Protesters decide to leave Waffle House alone. Atlanta is amazing.”
It was a rare bright spot during a night of otherwise consistent chaos and arson, particularly of small and local businesses. The riots were ignited after George Floyd was killed at the hands of Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin on Monday.

I don't think I would want to eat with this crowd at the waffle house.

I'm surprised they could even spell 'Waffle House'....or maybe they just recognized the design....wonder why gubernor Stacy Adams didn't speak up and save all the other businesses....

These are not protests, these are exactly what we called them in the 60s....race riots.

They also tore up the National Football Hall of Fame. No doubt looking for valuable memorabilia to loot.
This isn't about the police. It's about having an opportunity to take some stuff without having to pay for it.

Trained agitators have helped create, inflame and aim these mobs. They are funded by groups who are funded by Soros.

Waffle House is a Southern Icon. Black folks and white folks know it to be a place that serves up great food (especially breakfast). at a fair price, and by friendly staff. I plan trips in the South with the intent to be near a Waffle House around breakfast time. That they would refuse to trash a Waffle House gives a bit of hope that these rioters possess a small bit of a value system.

Why would they want to burn down a Waffle House? If you are drunk at 3:00AM and show up at a Waffle House, no matter if you are black, brown, red, yellow or white you will be welcomed and fed a big breakfast at a nominal price.
But then you ask why should Black looters want to burn out and loot all the grocery stores and other critical businesses that serve their communities? It’s not surprising as since the 1970’s whenever a pretext appears, they have been doing that leaving their “communities” in a so-called food desert, where no private businesses will risk their assets by rebuilding where they could again be looted and burned out. Then the next hope for those “communities” is to wait for the next generation of enterprising immigrants to arrive and start their small businesses to serve those communities of color. Those inner-city communities of color have for decades been represented by leftist and liberal Democrat politicians who tout social complaints of victimization that set the table for future general anti-social behavior on the part of the “community” along with serious looting and rioting anytime an opportunity presents itself, but never are able to solve the supposed community problems, the eight years of the Obama-Biden Administration clearly show that.

I ate at a waffle house on my trip to visit siblings in florida. Some small town along I-75 well south of Atlanta. Fantastic service. Great food. And almost as many servers as customers. If I recall, there was one white person in the serving staff but I may be wrong. To harm a Waffle House like that would certainly hurt the many workers who made my visit a great experience.
By the way... can't beat 'em for your basic breakfast. I will do that again as many times as I come near one. The only other place where customers are treated with anywhere near as much respect is the Chik Fil A. Don't even mind if they don't have pancakes.

Messing with a Southerner's Waffle House will result in a swift and certain middy-evil response.

I actually like Waffle House for quick late snacks, but any fast food restaurant with majority darker patrons in it - I leave it alone. Rant if you want to, but I only have to be wrong once.

#7, Not important but it's was the College Football Hall of Fame which ironically highlights many black athletes. They may have spared a Waffle House but they totally destroyed a Starbucks. I hope none of the thugs got a stimulus check. All of the property damage will have to be replaced with tax funds. Which doesn't matter if you don't pay taxes. I get disgusted when people talk about their anger. They are not angry. They are having the time of their lives. It just a wilding. The Atlanta mayor, Rock Bottom, said she was proud that no "protestors" were killed. Instead she just stood by and let the streets descend into anarchy. Am glad Stout Stacy wasn't elected governor. If she were you would be able to see the fires from the moon.

OP - Of course, you're right. When I read about the Waffle House, that thought never occurred to me. The whole thing throughout the country was all organized; most probably by a professional community organizer. Now I hope there is someone in the FBI who could find out from whom they get their money. Too many people see so many others get away with all sorts of crimes that the feel no fear about destroying police stations and police cars.
