Most politicians in the running to join a presidential ticket as the VP candidate are inclined to stay silent, change the subject, or simply express their humility at the thought of being considered. Stacey Abrams isn't most politicians.
"I would be an excellent running mate," Abrams said in a recent interview with Elle magazine, citing her "strong history of executive and management experience," as well as her "25 years in independent study of foreign policy."
As soon as it became clear that former vice president Joe Biden would be the Democratic Party's nominee for president, Abrams embarked on a media tour to make the case for why Stacey Abrams,

It must be difficult to be Stacey knowing how talented you are and nobody cares. Such little fools....

Abrams is a high-profile specimen of what many smaller metro areas have long experienced. As sensible persons flee the central city the only ones left are the ignorant. Ergo, the mayors are ignorant. Because they have access to power they are flattered when they are told they are not ignorant and start to believe it. Because they're ignorant.
Abrams is also a high-profile specimen of someone with no talents whatsoever. She can't speak. She has nothing interesting to say. She certainly has no ideas. She seems to believe that she's refined the role of professional victim into professional POTENTIAL victim and that this is somehow desirable politically.

Abrams expressed "concern" about the possibility that Biden would not make the "smart choice" by picking an accomplished woman of color such as Stacey Abrams.
I think Joe already said his first and smartest choice of a woman of color for running mate would be Carol Channing. Sorry Stacey.
What? Too soon?

FTA: “...I and my publisher were concerned that people would not want to buy a [romance] book written by, well, not Neil deGrasse Tyson, but basically by Stephen Hawking.”
She’s comparing herself to Stephen Hawking.
Prof. Hawking was director of research at the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology at the University of Cambridge, and Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge between 1979 and 2009.
Just to be clear Ms Abrams is saying she’s smarter than Neil deGrasse Tyson, and that her intellect is comparable to that of Prof. Hawking‘s, and as such the magnitude of her reputation as a public intellectual might actually be a disincentive to buy a romance novel she wrote.
She said because she’s as smart as Stephen Hawking her books— like, “Reckless,” “Never Tell,” and “Deception,” might not sell as well— if she wasn’t as smart as she is.
The publisher’s summary for, “Never Tell,” reads, “... One thing is certain: Erin's boxy suits and sensible shoes hide a delicate beauty waiting to emerge...and Gabriel is just the man to reveal the woman inside.
“As they join forces to find the killer, Gabriel slowly seduces Erin with his soft kisses. But Erin knows their love can never be.”
Somehow I think Prof. Hawking’s potential as a writer of romance novels— even posthumously— is safe.

8, you'd love the bit radio host Dave Glover (St Louis) did when Hawking was reported to have weird sexual deviances. In the bit, Hawking would say things to his sex partner in his computer generated voice, "It puts the lotion on the skin." Hilarious.

OK, so she earned BA, MS, and PhD degrees in Interdisciplinary Studies, Public Policy (government), Law, and passed the bar exam to work as a tax attorney. Not bad credentials. Thus, she's book smart and maybe deserved her positions. Unfortunately, because of affirmative action programs/hiring, we'll never know for sure if she was the best candidate or if she was given her various jobs to increase that institution's diversity quota. That's ALWAYS the rub when it comes to minorities in positions of high pay jobs/political power.
But the key statement I read is how she credits her "25 years in independent study of foreign policy" as a credential and experience to qualify her to be the VP pick.
My goodness, may I count all my "independent study" in a plethora of subjects over the years as qualifications for employment in each and every one of those areas? Would you believe me just based on my word that I was an expert in any of those areas?
Or, do I have to have the shield of being a Black, feminist, leftist, lesbian, overweight, government careerist not to have my qualifications (or motives) questioned?
BTW, she owed $54,000 in back taxes that she was paying off in increments to the IRS, and held $174,000 in credit card and student loan debt. Somehow though, she donated $50,000 to her own GA gubernatorial campaign and in 2019 she completed payment of her back taxes to the IRS in addition to other outstanding credit card and student loan debt. Humm......
Sorry for the long post.

B'H
Just. Wow. . .or some other descriptor/adjective. Is there any one, other than herself, who truly believes this BS hype??? For how much $$$ did she (or is she willing to) sell her soul? What does she get, what is she gaining? She apparently believes some plantation overseer/owner will pay. . .
I am aghast at the self delusion in which she clothes herself and delights to reside. Does the adversary advertise himself so blatantly as she? Bigot.

If this is her knowledge of English grammar “...I and my publisher were concerned then I don't put her knowledge of anything very high. It should read "My publisher and I"....Not to be nit picking, but incorrect grammar is one of my pet peeves!

Joe really backed himself into a corner with this one. He made the mistake of saying he would pick a woman instead of the best person for the job. Way to go Joe, your first of many bad decisions.

I can't think of anyone in the public eye who is less qualified than this bozo, except for Moochelle. If Biden wins and the country doesn't die immediately, Sleepy Joe could make Moochelle ambassador to Spain. That appears to be her only area of experience and expertise. Correction: make her ambassador to the Spanish tourist industry. As for Ms. Stacey . . . Please. Just. Go. Away. When the country is ready for you to hold national office it will be so far down the tubes that nothing will matter.

She wants the job. She is qualified for the job in her own mind and that of Gayle King of CBS, therefore, if Biden does not pick her he is a racist. End of discussion. Bring on the parade!
